i’m glad he said the meaning of ricer changed over the years because everyone acts like the “Race Inspire Cosmetic enhancement “ is how that word started . I’m 26 and back when people weren’t so fragile that was just any jdm car
The c4 radiator is tilted that way to deflect police radar signals, that’s what the c4 designer said, he wrote a book on it. I’m not sure about the c6, but if it’s still fiberglass, and at the same angle, it should deflect police radar signals the same. It won’t deflect them entirely but you must be alot closer to the gun to get an accurate reading. That is not made up, and it is not a side effect of the corvettes design, it was designed that way.
Opinions on heritage Wheels? I think they have some really neat designs and I like the fact that they offer monoblock for people that don't want to spend $3,000 on a set of wheels, but still have the option for higher budget customers to have fully custom three-piece sets built. I've seen mixed things about their quality, build times, and customer service. Just curious if you had any thoughts or experience.
Finish is poor across the board. Good i guess for cheap wheels you dont give a shit about but they wont last. Better off buying nice wheels off marketplace
Would you rather build a gen 2 coyote or the roadrunner platform in the boss 302’s i know they are similar but still technically 2 different platforms?
Are functional tow straps from a reputable brand like Sparco mounted properly to the chassis still rice if they’re on a road car that will probably never use it? Asking for a friend
"Ricer mods" are like the vanities/specialties in a racing video game: to be used judiciously and in harmony with the rest of the car. This is not coincidental, as they are often the same things. If your entire build is just flashy, cheap, low-effort Amazon mods, that's not a build, that's just a sad little pile of Chinese plastic. And if you have no taste, then you have no taste. But if you have some taste, then you can get away with things like underglow, tire lettering, etc. because you'll have a better idea of when to use and when not to use these things. Personally, I still think some things are nonstarters: RGB lights, for example, don't even look good on a gaming computer. It just looks like you couldn't decide what color you wanted so you tried to choose all of them at once. On a car, it's even worse. A friend of mine recently switched to RGB headlight accents on his M440i (at least they're all one color at any given moment instead of looking like gummy worms) and it's honestly really sad because the yellow ones he had before looked absolutely perfect. I don't like the idea of carbon-fiber overlays and wraps because I don't like fake stuff in general, but on the other hand, I have absolutely nothing against using real carbon fiber parts for the looks even if it's not a particularly cost-effective way to go faster. I also don't like the idea of "rep" wheels for the same reason, but I may not be the best source of advice here considering I spent $1700 plus shipping on custom made wheels and another $800-900 plus shipping on tires (twice because I wore out the first set in a summer and a half) for a Hyundai I ended up rolling, and am still fighting my insurance company trying to get some extra money for those things. I can only assume that the people who cover their car in Amazon splitters and ducktails, stick-on vents and scoops, reflective tape, RGB lights, etc. are the same ones in games like The Crew who paint their cars hot pink and load them up with wacky roof accessories, goofy N2O flamethrowers, physically impossible tires and tire smokes, underglows with 3x the footprint of the car itself, etc. just to "stand out". I can't say I haven't flushed money on cosmetics, but at least I try to keep to the relatively reasonable ones and actually think about whether they belong on any given car.
Good point on canards. Yes, track cars are allowed "rice". I think reflective tape is in that vein too. Also, blue underglow is illegal on the street, and red can only be visible from the back. If you have a green, orange, purple or yellow car, or something that matches those colors, underglow is pretty dope.
I’m chopping up my hood idc I just need to find a vent that’ll look decent. Most stuff available that isn’t model specific is just ricey looking unfortunately
next video should be “cars i still want” and you can talk about cars you’d wanna buy in the future

This. Anything JDM modded was rice and 4bangers were not seen as nice. It was V8 or up anything less no one took you seriously for racing.
yeah and sport bikes were called riceburners
Blue underglow on the mustang with the current color will be nice, kinda like the R34 in 2fast 2 furious
Wtf was that mental preparation in the beginning 😂
When?
@jaycatenza4194 when he's just walking back and forth for a little in the beginning it's a very small amount of time but you can see the preparation 💀
Drew your rants are awesome ✌️💯
The hot air that comes out of your vents, would cool down by touching the air outside and fly back into the engine bay
My 72 gran Torino came from factory with reflective stripes hahah

I remember reading somewhere that the s550 mach 1 has reflective tape on the vinyl. Is this true? Maybe only on the FJG?

Would you ever consider building a bmw z3 ?
