The most underappreciated Faithless song of all time. The layers, the Thai girls talking.... the drowsiness... the tourists... this song is perfection... and it's a 90s gem.
Who’s here listening in 2024? Petition to get this epic track on Spotify! Also, we need and deserve The Beach soundtrack on vinyl! Absolutely epic collection of 90’s beats on there, what a fabulous soundtrack, perfectly captures the tone of that film, just epic! Also, RIP Maxi ❤️
Words cannot describe the emotions and feelings that awaken at the 30 second mark when that rumbling bass hits. It takes you back in time, you can taste and feel what life was back then, emotions that are priceless. May you rest in peace Maxi, you absolute legend
First heard this when I was 18 from the beach soundtrack, always loved faithless.. Now its 2023 and im pushing 43 and still love it. Such an underrated song but guess thats partly what makes it so good. One for the late night chill outs
And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. -Jeremiah 29:13 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. -John 3:16 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out. -Acts 3:19 :)
This was the first Faithless song I ever heard, from the excellent soundtrack to that not-so-great movie The Beach. That also had 8 Ball by Underworld, Snakeblood by Leftfield, Porcelain by Moby and Brutal by New Order. And it had Beached by Orbital, which was not played in the movie for some reason. Hearing Woozy made me want to get other Faithless albums, which I'm glad I did!
That soundtrack is a part of me. So good. But this track is absolutely amazing and was always my favourite. It’s almost indescribable. I send my love to Maxi Jazz’s friends and family.
Maxi Jazz is the most unique artist of his time. He and his band generated trance, hip hop to another level. He was my saviour when I was growing up, i ahd a hard time in school and this guy brought me through my journey. His lyrics and composure of sound, bass and procussion is at the highest level at that time. Legend and what is unique is that the people that understand him will always have in their mind body and soul Maxi Jazz. Never forgotten. Mo Chara agus mo deathair
Listening to this while sweating in 35 degree heat. That bassline sounds exactly how I feel. I've liked this song ever since I was a kid and went to see The Beach in the cinema. Now I'm drinking gin and tonic aged 35 and realising nothing ever really changes.
Cheers! This was in my playlist about ten years ago, coming home from work, on an old hot tram, at 10 pm, headphones in ears, really warm summer, barely any people on my transport home, loved it. Not many passengers at that time of night, so the tram driver used to leave the car's doors open... just wind blowing through my hair, drying my sweaty forehead, great music in my ears and a peaceful feeling under the dark starry skies.
Such an incredible song. Went so perfectly with that traveling scene to Thailand in The Beach. That movie alone made me move to Asia!! Still living in Korea! Haha
Mark Luehring-Jones it was available on the Renaissance 3D album by faithless + various artists. It was a 50track album with similar tunes. Was removed in 2017.
I have absolutely adored this track for 22 years now... wow.. hits different when you type it. Specifically memorable was when I was 12 years old riding my bike in the summer sun listening to this on my headphones. Just in a dream. I started seeing lights. Orbs and flashes. I can't remember my exact feelings at that point, other than just being on my way home. Once I headed inside I came down with the most painful headache I had ever felt. In fact, it was the most intense pain I had EVER felt in my 12 years. I started to lose some of my vision. I started crying due to the pain. My mom put me upstairs to lay down on my bed. The world was spinning and I was losing the ability to comprehend any sort of verbal communication, while simultaneously not being able to respond in a normal manner. It quickly escalated. Soon I was been strapped to a stretcher and was wheeled out of our living room. During the ambulance ride to the hospital nearly 30 minutes away, I was asked a series of questions. "What is your name?" "How much do you weigh?" "How old are you?" Now that I have aged and been around long enough to party, it was as though I was tripping but with 10/10 pain. I had flashes of consciousness, sight, hearing, but not for long. I remember answering the paramedics and it was complete gibberish. My panic set in when they looked at each other in fear when I couldn't form a sentence nor could I tell them my name. SO, long story but --- I, INDEED, was WOOZY. To the nth degree. Turns out it was a migraine. So, with that, never doubt someone or take it too lightly when someone says they have a migraine! Serious stuff.
Even though it's sandy and dusty Adjust my position on my cushion Time is a treasure cause it's oh-so-dear Lying here at my leisure on air And the sun is really high in the sky How am I supposed to 'do the dew' When it's too hot to move I'm woozy I'm woozy I'm woozy Nobody in bed with me I need room to be where I want to be No need to zoom or rush In fact, take out the bass in case we need more hush Less percussion, a little less pushing and shoving Take it easy, you could even get sleazy Come around, watch a movie with the sound down And get woozy I'm woozy I'm woozy I'm woozy, yeah I'm woozy
Got the chance to see these guys live at my last ever electro dance day before i packed it in - was just fcuking epic - this tune takes me right back to the heart of that muggy crowded tent filled with jammers , bright lights, sweat and joy ... man such dayze - RIP Maxi - soundtrack to my lifetrack ...
This song is very under estimated , never remixed , includes a lot of unique tools ... the rhythm is very unique and that girl talking together with people makes me feel I’m on a congested beach with strong sun ☀️... love it 😍
Back when I first heard this song in The Beach, I thought he was saying "Watch a movie, with the sound down, and get groovy" haha. But all these years later I'm still gettin' groovy with this song.
It takes 8 minutes for me to drive from my house, across the bridge, and arrive at the beach for me. I start this song right as I leave my house, and it stops right as I arrive. This movie changed my life.
That after ecstasy-gangja vibe, where you are between times, driving your thoughts in slo-mo but also vibing really fast riddin' with the song, smilling with friends early morning, Sun peaking from the hills, reminding you are soon going back to reality, but please stick around for a couple more, feel woozy
Ark Bar, Chaweng Beach, 2017, Recliner chair, icy cold Chang, Joint and this on headphones accompanied by 36 degree heat -- Paradise disguised as Purgatory.
This tune is amazing ! A fucking story behind ! I have always movies of crazy things in my head when listening this song with closed eyes ! I'm just woooozyyyy
this version is slightly different than the film version. if you watch the exact seq its used, 4:45 in the song on this track has a steel drum during the lyrics "watch a movie with the sound down." In the film version with Francoise coming out of the ocean at 15 mins, there Is no steel drum percussion on the song. this has always bothered me. I want the exact version in the film. the mix is different on other levels too. they added higher pitched instruments stressing over the beat that give it a new dynamic quality-- anyway.
“Nobody in bed with me I need room to be where I want to be No need to zoom or rush In fact, take out the bass in case we need more hush Less percussion, a little less pushing and shoving Take it easy, you could even get sleazy Come around, watch a movie with the sound down And get woozy!”

Rest in power, Maxi. Always a champion with your vocals.
Very sad news on 🎄
I can't get over his passing. It's too sad. He is/was so unique. No one like him.

They don't make them like that anymore, we need a revival of this authentic sound. This music had soul, heart, and Spirit.
My life was changed forever when I heard this song on The Beach soundtrack. RIP Maxi Jazz.

That's because you're a simpleton. Never lived life obviously if you have that vapid of an existence.

This entire soundtrack was great... but this was the song and the movie that completely shaped my life.
This song deserves to be so much more than the 10th track on an OST...

Will forever in our hearts, thats a nice place to be.
They arent about their ego darling x oneday you will understand
What’s the OST?? I can’t find that song on Spotify!
This song goes so well with the madness of traveling deep into Thailand ..
The smoothest bassline in their whole catalog. Breathtaking song
Why is this song not available on spotify :( So good!
I agree!!
It used to be but then it was randomly taken off years ago. I was so annoyed cos I love this song.
Mark Luehring-Jones it was available on the Renaissance 3D album by faithless + various artists. It was a 50track album with similar tunes. Was removed in 2017.

yes, one of the best songs from "The Beach".
The buildup to the drop, from 4:23 to 4:57 is some of the best in all of electronic music. Honestly it doesn't get much better than this.
Even though it's sandy and dusty
Adjust my position on my cushion
Time is a treasure cause it's oh-so-dear
Lying here at my leisure on air
And the sun is really high in the sky
How am I supposed to 'do the dew'
When it's too hot to move
I'm woozy
I'm woozy
I'm woozy
Nobody in bed with me
I need room to be where I want to be
No need to zoom or rush
In fact, take out the bass in case we need more hush
Less percussion, a little less pushing and shoving
Take it easy, you could even get sleazy
Come around, watch a movie with the sound down
And get woozy
I'm woozy
I'm woozy
I'm woozy, yeah
I'm woozy
İroni ne kız adımızı da mı unuttun
2020 and I am still woozy 😷
303 loops, vocoder, strings, big tribal soundscapes, building up --> stripping back.. This tune is so good
I'm in Thailand right now! Playing this on crappy phone speakers! Rip Maxi Jazz 🙏
Remembered this song from my childhood.. made me cry! Such a great hit.

Wow, Its a live. I love it! Thank you so much!
For me, the pinnacle of Faithless. The best, from the best, yet unexplainably obscure.
maxxi your flow is stunning, will always listen to faithless, so great!
