1. Twilight Points the Way (00:00) 2. Heavens Above (04:19) 3. Dreamkiller (08:42) 4. Night Ride (13:52) 5. Edge of the Knife (18:06) 6. Force of a Storm (22:17) 7. The Savior's Lie (25:15) 8. Death to Mercy (30:17) SUMERLANDS have returned from the astral plane with their hotly anticipated new album, Dreamkiller. The Ultimate Sin inspired haze of the first album has been turbocharged with bigger hooks, Jan Hammer worthy synths, and forays into Badlands gone doom! But although doom crackles at the edges of Dreamkiller, this is metal forged with the melodrama of the Scorpions, the emotional heft of Foreigner, and Dokken with an extra dose of depression. In the driver’s seat is critically acclaimed producer, engineer and guitarist Arthur Rizk, who polished these 8 metallic gems at Philadelphia’s Redwood Studios. Coming off of recent production credits with Kreator, Soulfly, and Show Me The Body, Rizk needs no introduction. His past work behind the boards with Power Trip, Sacred Reich, Ghostemane and many others have blown minds for over a decade, while SUMERLANDS fulfills his dream of melancholic chug. The band’s alchemy is on full display as bassist Brad Raub (Eternal Champion, Leather) smirks behind his P-Bass while drummer Justion DeTore (Innumerable Forms, Dream Unending) stares you dead in the face, swinging. New vocalist Brendan Radigan (Magic Circle, Stone Dagger) sings of lost souls in a world gone mad in his confident Graham Bonnet meets Ray Gillen wail. Rizk and guitarist John Powers keep their “Strats only” policy intact while wheeling in the full Marshall stacks to douse the record in glorious solos (witness the album closing duel of “Death to Mercy”). Galloping lead single “Dreamkiller” is an uptempo tour de force with an instrumental break to make Brian May blush and that festival worthy chorus. Make no mistake, Dreamkiller is a triumph of traditional heavy metal fuel!
I really loved the debut album and Sumerlands delivered again! Dreamkiller is a great album! Hope we don't have to wait six years again for the third one.
it may take me a bit longer, I really love how Phil's voice fit perfectly with the three dimensional sound I got from the 1st album. The music is still just as good though!
These guys are not joking! Today i found out about their new album, and i thought that they couldn't beat their previous album. I was wrong! This one is even better! WELL DONE, GUYS!! Massive respect!
Probably the best Heavy Metal release I heard In years now, Till now after Sumerlands self titled, you set the bar high guys, excellent choruses, brightful dreamlike vocals
Not going to lie, I was kinda disappointed when I first heard this new album when it was released. Sumerlands set the bar extremely high with their debut album. The self titled album is one of the best new albums I had ever listened to. Everything about it was perfect. Dream Killer has really grown on me. Keep on rocking Sumerlands and keep the albums coming.
This came in my stream after Queensryche's Digital Noise Aliance, while working. I only noticed after 10 minutes it was no longer Queensryche playing - lol. Good stuff!
Got recommended this band from a friend. We were listening to their 2016 album and I was like "shit this sounds like the dude singing for Eternal Champion". Turns out it is the other way Every main member but the vocalist are in Eternal Champion. Which is a big plus because I already love what those boys do over there so this is a no brainer another band I can purchase the music for and keep with me and follow.
My thoughts exactly. Couldn't believe it wasn't Tarpey singing when I first looked up the lineup. Guess the band has an affinity for a very specific style of singer :D
Nothing short of a masterpiece! They took everything I loved about the first one and cranked it to 💯...From start to finish, each track is awesome! Listen to "Dreamkiller" while driving and try not to press the gas to the floor! AOTY for me! ❤️🤟🔥
Are we sure this is relapse records, summerlands are amazing heavy metal, one could be forgiven for thinking this is a label like fronties records or dissonance or metal blade or nuclear blast records!
I can't quit listening! Amazing album! Btw, if anyone knows what Brendan is singing during the second chorus of Edge of the Knife (you know the line I'm talking about) please tell me! The lyric booklet doesn't include that one line haha
@@JohnBosson I reached out to the band on Bandcamp and Arthur confirmed that the line is "So much closer to death than to life"! That line makes the song that much more epic in my opinion.
How tf the vocalist from Torture Chain and vocalist from Dream Unending both in this band, sounds nothing like either and both I love - including this now. Reminds me a bit of Shadowkeep.
i love this record to death its so fucking good. can anyone recommend something in the same vein for me? i lover everything about this lp: the production the vocals and the flashy guitar solos
Sounds good beautiful guitar work and vocals, but not what I liked Sumerlands for. Miss the destructive doom sound Seventh Seal brought to the table. Must have been vocalist swapping issues that delayed the album so much. It's not bad, but I was disappointed to not hear Phil's deeper melancholic voice and that it drifted from their original sound.

When Autumn is at the door, I find Sumerlands. Awesome songs and dig this a lot. Would love to see more bands bring songs like these, nowadays.
This album is just perfect from the 1st song to the last song 10/10 💯💯💯
Yes!!!
100%
I really loved the debut album and Sumerlands delivered again! Dreamkiller is a great album! Hope we don't have to wait six years again for the third one.
It takes a minute to warm up to the new singer. But it's still a lot of bark at the moon goodness.

I got big bark at the moon vibes
Way better than the old singer n stuff. No disrespect.
@RoobCLT of course it's a matter of opinion but this new record and singer can't touch that first one. I must have listened to that 100s of times.
Brandon, the new singer is the only reason I'm listening to this band...his other bands, Magic Circle, Rival Mob, Stone Dagger are all epic bands
Listened to that gorgeous purple vinyl for the first time this week, wonderful work to all involved in the playing and production!
This band is so good...
Best album of the Year!
Riot City eléctric elite 🤘🏻🤘🏻
What a voice.....
11:20 Eargasm!
20:21 That little "wahoa" in the background is such a nice detail
Love the guitar work on these songs.

Finally!!!..i loved the first album and how “ultimate sin” like it was
These guys are not joking! Today i found out about their new album, and i thought that they couldn't beat their previous album. I was wrong! This one is even better! WELL DONE, GUYS!! Massive respect!
"Edge of the knige" is absolute beauty 😭😭
Album Of The Year 2022!! 😳🙏👍🤘
Can't stop playing Night Ride, beautiful song, best of the album for me.
Very similar to Life on the Wire by Demon, introduction at least.
Probably the best Heavy Metal release I heard In years now, Till now after Sumerlands self titled, you set the bar high guys, excellent choruses, brightful dreamlike vocals
Check this new band bro they are KONQUEST very good guys
one of the best metal albums in recent years!
10/10 album right here. I love it.
Classic-era Fates Warning, very nice
Excellent album. It is possible to play classic heavy metal and have some personality. Keep doing this guys!!
Best metal album in years and years. The album has an Iron Maiden's Somewhere in time atmosphere that stole my heart. Greetings from Argentina!
Best?? Wtf
Don't compare this one to Somewhere in Time, pls. That album is untouchable on many levels. This is good album but not great.
Night Ride… GODDAMN
Reminds me of Screaming in the Night by Krokus.

Reminds me of Lizzy Borden...I am digging it big time!
Très très bon album...avec un parfum de Warlord ( and the cannons.)....le Ozzy des années 80... parfait 👍
Amazing album !!! Keep up the (very) good work !!!
I love that 80's feeling!!!
This came in my stream after Queensryche's Digital Noise Aliance, while working. I only noticed after 10 minutes it was no longer Queensryche playing - lol. Good stuff!
Best album I've heard in ages! 😀
Damn there are so many great bands \m/
Great job, guys! A perfect album!

I don't usually listen to power metal, but when I do its this good.
Nothing short of a masterpiece! They took everything I loved about the first one and cranked it to 💯...From start to finish, each track is awesome! Listen to "Dreamkiller" while driving and try not to press the gas to the floor! AOTY for me! ❤️🤟🔥
excellent album!
The more you play it, the better it gets.
Excellent album =).
Greetings from Brazil!
Are we sure this is relapse records, summerlands are amazing heavy metal, one could be forgiven for thinking this is a label like fronties records or dissonance or metal blade or nuclear blast records!
Loving this
Excellent album!!!!
In so many ways like Fates Warning, so much better, though ! Love it!!
Never heard of these guys before but I like this. Definitely different from what I’m familiar with.
This is really good.
Killer album!
Such a good album Fr
Three Main Members of Eternal Champion. This must be be Epic!\m/
This is a f’n masterpiece!
When metal has been often stale this year, this work of Art Arrives And Owns the Year! Absolutely Superb!
This album is fucking MAGICAL!! Reminds me of 80s Savatage
Very nice...
I can't quit listening! Amazing album!
Btw, if anyone knows what Brendan is singing during the second chorus of Edge of the Knife (you know the line I'm talking about) please tell me! The lyric booklet doesn't include that one line haha
idk either but I go with “so it’s good, sounding good, bet your life”
@@JohnBosson I reached out to the band on Bandcamp and Arthur confirmed that the line is "So much closer to death than to life"! That line makes the song that much more epic in my opinion.
@@benc2041 oh FUCK yeah that rules - thanks for putting the work in!
Waiting for my copy to get delivered. 🤘🏻
Reminds me a lot of Skullfist! ❤️
Perfect!

Vocalist sounds like a mix of Ozzy and Jason Tarpey of Eternal Champion. Really great; better in my opinion than the vocalist on the debut.
* Exciter's twin guitars intensfies *
(album of the year?)
🔥🤘🔥
Edge of the knife is so heavy.
What a great record 🤘🤘😎🍻
Clearly sounds like early Hammerfall - Glory To The Brave stuff
Simply fantastic!

Death to mercy is a proper banger
Fantástico ❤

Wolf, RAM, Grand Magus, Eternal Champion; enjoy!:)

S/T is superior by far.
Amazing melodies and structures. This is phenomenal music. But are they anti-Christian? Trying to see what they're about lyric-wise.
Al ultimo lugar que iria seria EEUU
Awful. compared to the first, super awful
Demand your money back
Hard Stratovarius VIBE! GREETINGS!
Is Randy Roads on guitars? Is ozzy on vocals?? No it is Summerlands and they are gonna kick your ass!!!!
Sounds more like Jake E Lee than Randy Rhoads by a mile.
Phenomenal.
