I have a 2010 jeep grand Cherokee limited 5.7, i changed the waterpump, thermostat and radiator. I need to know does the hydraulic fan suppose to run upon start up of the vehicle.
hey there, it doesn't on mine, it looks like the fan relay or solendoid needs to be replaced. For any issues the default setting is to run all the time. hope this helps!
@@moparbro thanks, I've heard it's suppose to run to keep the oil running thru the condenser. I'm no mechanic I don't know any about where a solenoid or relay is on it
@BossJR13 hey there, head to the local parts shop and get the right nozzle size, or wherever you got the new water pump from, or the local parts show could get you an adapter for it
@@moparbro I’m currently at an auto parts store but no one knows what the bleeder piece is called. Do you know what it’s called? If not, will my car run without the bleeder line attached?
@moparbro ok I’m out of options outside of purchasing an OEM water pump and taking the one I got off of Amazon off because after calling around for the bleeder nozzle, no one sells it.
Hey there, 1st sign was intermittent smelling of coolant in the cabin of the jeep while driving, I then checked the coolant reservoir and noticed it was half full. When I filled the coolant reservoir to full, coolant started to drip out o the area where the water pump gasket failed. Other the coolant drip when filling the reservoir, the water pump operated as intended with the jeep not overheating and maintaining a normal temperature range. Thank you for asking! excellent question! Thanks for watching aswell!
@@moparbro thank you bro . I have one more question . I have a srt jeep as well. And I noticed after driving hard on the highway with the ac on for like 40 mins my temp almost went to half. Is that normal for the temp to raise a bit after driving hard ? It did go down once I chilled out though
@@Tracklyfe_T Hey there! after driving hard it would get a bit hotter, but typically it the operating temperature should stay pinned at its regular spot. Keep an eye on it, fluctuating temp readings are an indicator that the thermostat is starting failing. Here's a vid of when mine went : ua-cam.com/video/mEFGODk2Yjg/v-deo.html thnx for asking!
You missed 3 bolts at the bottom. They are kinda a Pita. Otherwise good video. Followed this and swapped my pump. Each bolt I took off I put into the new water pump. Once I haf the old one off I swapped them. Good way of keeping track other than a sharpie since they all are wonky
Most pumps die at certain mileage due to the stupid gasket. Still surprised they are still making metal pumps, as most new cars are using plastic crappy ones 😠🙄
agreed its crazy, the water pump in mine was fine just the gasket, but considering today's build quality, the bearing in the pump was probably going to go soon too forcing people to just replace the whole thing lol
@@lontarian2228 ah gotcha, if it does it'll just be a small leak, as long as you keep the coolant reservoir full and the temperature doesn't go past half you can still drive until you get it fixed

It looked like you had orange coolant in the old water pump. Why did you put replace it with green coolant? That's for older vehicles.
