Nonceba Mnkandla played this on Radio 2. We had just moved from Venda to Zimbabwe, the land of my mother. One of the most iconic songs that introduced me to the Ndebele nation of Zim. To this day Im grateful.
One of the mothers of South African music.Others who cross my mind right now include Mme Margaret Mcingana,Mme Miriam Makeba,Mme Dorothy Masuka,Mme Dolly Rathebe, the list is endless

This music is purely African and is planned before being recorded! Time is really passing by and the latest type of music we hear is useless compared to this! All these artists were outstanding in their various magnificent ways and, yes, we were blessed by them. Uzothi wabonani wezwani emhlabeni wena na?
somehow his songs makes me very sad....reminds me of a ZImbabwe long gone and will never come back again because of these selfish goons so-called our liberators...sorry katatu chaiko...#Robonga
If you know this song from Radio 2, you are old and a legend. Miss the good old Zimbabwe we grew up in. Now exiled in foreign lands due to the economic situation back home.
Reminds me of my sister's wedding entrance in 1977 and she cried so much that some members of the family also became emotional and were crying too. God knows why? She is still at her same marriage today as she in her late 60s , I guess
Nice music from the Gallo Mavuthela stable. From my memory it could be from as far back as 1977. Someone should upload other songs from your grannie, even if they do not have videos to accompany them e.g. Sala Sithandwa; and When I First Met You.
It's only now that I understand the meaning of the song. While growing up in Zimbabwe we just used to enjoy the beat and rhythm. The lyrics are powerful. What's wrong with this place that is full of witchcraft
