I was unaware that Bishop Morton, actually ordained Bishop Long.... so if anyone has the right to rebuke Bishop Long it's Bishop Morton!!

  • @michellecarlmixoncummings4881

As the one who ordained him. Bishop Morton HAD a responsibility to to do this. Had he answered his phone calls this biblical demonstration of rebuking him openly would NOT have had to be done. No one has more authority to do this more than your spiritual leader/person who ordained you

I love that Bishop Morton said that we have to trust God with the consequences of our actions. Often that's easier said than done, especially when it involves people of authority and prestige.

    What he said is true.
You dont have to confess once the settlement is done but you do have an obligation to apologize for any embarrasment you may have caused those who trust and care about you.

When I was a babe in Christ I was so impressed while watching this man on TV. Then one day he was involved in a scandal. I didn't dig further to find out the details of the scandal but I remember feeling sorry for Pastor Morton (for at the time he wasn't a Bishop). Some time had gotten in between and as the controversy passed I was so relieved to find out that he had obtained mercy. Father...I am sure that Eddie Long's soul is crying out Psalms 25:16. Please have mercy & hear his cry

If more preachers would call out their peers, there wouldnt be so many church scandals. It IS the church's job to hold men and women accountable in leadership. But most turn away from it. Thats why we have pimppreacher online

Done with class and intergrity according to the Word and with the LOVE of a spiritual father with open arms just like the prodigal son was welcomed by his father, and the backing of his congregation along with the body of Christ. I give God the praise that you have shown the love and DISCIPLINE work, walk and God-like character of a spiritual father. Amen

PRAISE GOD FOR BISHOP MORTON!!!!! HE IS EXACTLY RIGHT!!!! I'm SO glad to finally see someone come out and do this! I agree with "Covering" the Man of God, but the Church cannot be TRULY effective until we stop "COVERING UP" what needs to be exposed and dealt with. Bless you Bishop Morton...Praying for you Bishop Long.

"If you have repented, so me some signs. Show me some humility. ....Tell us something." - Bishop P. Morton
I so agree. But they dont talk to the people because they dont feel like they owe them an explanation. High-mindedness. Bishop Morton is rebuking----(applause) He, some years ago, removed another from the fellowship of the Full Gospel Church. (applause) Stand Bishop and all those who do the same. To those who have sinned and offended, REPENT, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.

This message is soothing because it's scripturally-based and truthful. One thing I would like to add: We should be also discussing healing for the young men who were victimized because it's not just about a pastor being embarrassed in the media and/or the church being seen in a negative light and all that. We need to remember those who we should have been helping were harmed. What about them? Be blessed.

Amen, Bishop Morton. The message he presents here is correct, needed, and Biblical. The message comes from a place of love and concern regarding his friend and colleague in the ministry. We as Christians must know the Word for ourselves and how to apply it our lives and to edify others.

  • @tanyablowe

Amen Bishop, Church people are always covering up. God is the one who expose sin. A spiritual leader cannot continue to hurt others and get away with it. If we committ a crime should we pay the price? Real people are getting hurt. If we do not do anything they will only go to the next person. What if it was your son or daughter that was victimize. That is true love when you tell your brother or sister the truth.

It is about rather it is true or not but about Accountability and Responsibility as a leader! We don't choose the times we stand as leaders when things are going good but even in the bad times! God can heal, deliver and restore! All have sin and come short of the Glory! How we respond to it is key!

I didn't choose Christianity because it "makes me happy". I chose Jesus because He is the only one who overcame death, and is alive to save me. Everyone else claiming to be a "savior" is dead, or is dying, ready to face the judgement...
One day, we will all see Him, who was pierced for our iniquities, face to face. Some to be cast into outer darkness, and others to be with him forever in glory.
    Everyone has that choice....

I wish folks really knew the word of God before they comment on biblical interpretations. Bishop Morton is correct in his plea and statement to Bishop Long. Our personal reasoning does not erase the written word of God. Every Pastor is 1st obligated to God.But each Pastor has a leader. Bishop Long must openly repent and acknowledge sin. God forgives our sins. Keep on praying folks.

Bishop is not wrong for addressing this matter to the church (Matthew 18:15-17). Matthew 18:17 states "If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector"(TNIV). I believe if Eddie would have answered his phone then Paul wouldn't have told the church.

  • @AbpSterlingLandsII
    @AbpSterlingLandsII 13 років тому +1

Gal 6:1-2 .. help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. We are to rebuke one another when one of us sins, but be quick to forgive when he or she repents. In the community of faith each is to find forgiveness and support to live a godly life. Accept responsibility to care about one another’s walk with God. Other’s may stumble often, but in the community of faith each is to find forgiveness and support to live a godly life.

Since when did committing a sin become a mistake? Sometimes we use God's season of grace to remain in our state of PRACTICING SINS. Only when we're caught in it, then it becomes a MISTAKE. (1st Peter 4:1-19) Those who have suffered with Christ is done with (PRACTICING ) sim. Of course people r still capable of committing a sin because we're still inside this flesh tent. However, we do have the POWER OF CHOICE to say NO to sin. Amy follower of Christ should have self control which is one of the fruits of the spirit (Gal. 5:22). Greater is the power of God who's living inside me than any other power in the world (1st John 4:4). sin is not a mistake. A mistake is a misunderstanding, miscalculation, error based false information. clearly if u'r teaching others the right way to behave ten surely u know right from wrong. When the covers r pulled off u doing the opposite of what ur're teaching,m it's not a mistake. it's sin . u got caught sooner than you thought you would. We all need prayer and we need to practice what we preach. This is how we bring glory to our creator.

First of all Bishop Morton isn't just speaking for himself. I don't see how anyone could take this mini sermon as a jab. This is tough love. He was stating the obvious since the settlement was already made. He was giving Bishop Long guidance to keep his congregation from falling apart while extending support by saying that he will speak on his behalf. He created this video in an effort to help Bishop Long to continue to save and to keep souls in his church. That's just it.

This is for everybody, including this preacher! Moses,Jonah, David, Peter, etc., all were men who disobeyed God in some degree. None were ever sat down neither did God Himself hinder them from their task or calling. When you disobey along the way God deals with you accordingly but you MUST carry out His will. His will isnt about you but completing the task is most important. If all these men were living amongst us today, they would be judged just like our preachers today.

@ADAMOLOGY almost exactly what i'm feeling word for word. Regardless of how strong our feelings maybe towards a certain individual or situation that's in the media concerning a part of the Body of Christ, we still have to be careful with the issue of pride....thinking more highly of ourselves than we ought. We all have issues that we struggle with daily. What if someone put the spotlight on your mess that's covered under the the blood? What would you do? Me, well I would be very uncomfortable.

Bishop Morton is 100 percent RIGHT!!! And just so we understand the word repent is not a call to confess our sins. It is a call to turn away from them. Bishop Long is on a very public platform and this brought even more scrutiny upon the Body of Christ...Bishop Long owes the Body and apology and as Bishop Morton asked for, SAY SOMETHING! Settling the case already admits his guilt- now he needs to apologize and stop sexually abusing little boys...
