Your slide lock is on the left between trigger and grip. You HAVE TOO get the cleaning tool for the gas system. It's a steel flat scraper to get the carbon out of the gas tube. A brass cleaning rod will not do it. If you don't scrape the carbon out regularly your pistol will get stuck with the action open. This pistol will get red HOT if you train with it. I was able to do some training with a SWAT team and my pistol was almost unbearable from heat. I had night sights put on mine for qualifications during night training. This pistol will get heavy after awhile and you'll be happy you've got a 642 to carry for a bit. Congrats on getting it, it really is worth it, I've had mine for about 20 years I'm guessing. Your friend in OREGON 🤠
Very nice Sean. My company back in 2004 was in Europe dealing with Sig Sauer (we were the Canadian distributor for Sig and Swiss Arms rifles at that time (PE90/Sig 550). They had all kinds of refurb German Police 226, 228, and 229 pistols we bought up. They had a crate as well of HK P7 heel release that were former German police pistols. 95% shape with 3 magazines each. For $300 CAD each. We bought all of them and imported them. They all sold out in about a week, I still have 2. Always wish I'd gotten a standard mag release, but considering I never would use the pistol for anything other than range shooting, NBD for me. One thing though - they get hot as balls under rapid fire conditions. I used one in a carbine training course once as my secondary/transition pistol - after a couple courses of fire, it was heating up. After pushing 6 magazines through it rapidly, it was almost too hot to handle in places where skin has to come into contact with metal. Just be aware. The things shoot darts, the 2 I have will both shoot as well as my Kimber Super Match 1911 off of a sandbag out to 25m. Not quite as good as my Sig P210s, but very, very close for such a shorter barrel. Pretty incredible. That fixed barrel and trigger system do make a very accurate handgun for something so compact.
This may have been covered, but my 1989 Sterling Virginia P7M8 does fire if you hold the trigger in and squeeze the cocking lever. Also, I’m not 100% sure about the numbers, but I believe it takes 8lbs. To activate the squeeze cocking mechanism but only 2lbs. To actually hold it in. Try it. Squeeze it with four fingers, the. Use only one finger to hold it in. Enjoy your new gun. I was lucky enough to get an M8 and an M13 with factory nickel which was only released for one year (1992)
Congrats! I have a old beat up P7 love it more then anything new I have! Not sure if you noticed yet but the initial squeeze of the cocker is heavy but once you do it you can lighten your grip on it a little then squeeze all the way and it takes very little pressure to keep the cocker back. Most accurate gun I have ever shot.
I agree with the weight debate. I think it’s incredibly overblown by both the internet (where a lot of times it’s just comparing stats) and tactical instructors taking out of their ass. I plan to carry a CZ P-01 which weighs I believe 28 oz loaded. Not even that much heavier than say a Glock 19 but I can shoot it solidly, prefer its ergos, feature set, da/sa, etc. Weight should play a factor but unless we’re taking a super heavy gun that would actually prohibit YOU (since everyone is different) then it’s really not a big deal. Essentially, carry whatever you like as long as it’s not junk and you’ll actually commit to it.
@Jones I also think a really important part of carry is picking a gun you really like. As long as you're love for it isn't blinding to any faults it has, I think it's a great part of training. You want to train with the gun you really dig, like my CZ which I just fits my taste. If you like a gun enough, that will make you train even more since why wouldn't you want to take your favorite gun for a spin, the same way why wouldn't you take your Porsche out for a drive, etc. LuckyGunner made a pretty lecture video about this with "my carry gun is old and weird" video.
We stocked these when I worked in a gun shop many years ago. They were considered quirky at the time, and didn’t sell in our shop...but oh what a wonderful piece of Teutonic engineering! They are functional works of art, and I’m glad you found a dream gun. (I hope a Bren 10 of that era isn’t a unicorn gun for you...we were one of the original dealers for them, and they turned out to be junk from a company of con artists)
This pistol is no longer a self defense neither range gun. It’s becoming a rare wheel of cheese that every goddamn Jerry. Bob. Billy chasing and paying stupid money for it
That is on my "holy grail" gun list for sure. Those pistols command one heck of a price tag, but I think it's worth it. The cool factor alone is worth a few dozen points! Congrats on that delicious pistol, cheers.
Very jealous, there were two P7s M8s at my lgs, both for $1700 one refinished black and the other was original finish with the plum discoloring from the old blueing process. Then some old dude bought them both soon after.
Hello Sean, Great buy bro! I have a question you've had your FN 509 Tactical for a while now what do think so far? I want to get one and value your thoughts and opinions on it.
@@hvkrev2 Thanks for your thoughts and honest opinions bro. I will look at the Archon before I buy. I wish you Great Success in all your future endeavors!
Recently picked up a p7 M13. It was one of the three P7's that had been found in a wall safe that had been drywalled over, by a contractor doing a remodel. Paid more than I care to admit, but from what I gather it still wasn't a bad deal. Bought it as an investment anyway I definitely still blow some carbon through it occasionally. That's what it was made for 😁😉
Hey Sean what trigger you running in your 43X??... Im shopping for a trigger for my 43 and just trying to get peoples opinions on different triggers. I want something that feels good but can also trust my life to it ya know?
You paid $3800 for a P7M8 without the original case and tools and manual? Are you nuts? I bought my P7M8 used but Unfired in the original box with all the paperwork and tools at Cabellas in 2008 for$1000.
Had to come back to tell you 9 hole reviews uploaded a vid today running a p7 on a timed pistol course kinda cool to see such a rare cool gun pop up in my feed two days in a row. ua-cam.com/video/SvVm0ZPCkdQ/v-deo.html
Listen up goofball ... stop buying so many damn guns and spend some money on tattoo removal and changing out that carpet. You remind me of the biker from hell with the $50,000 motorcycle who lives in a f****** trailer. You review guns did everybody knows are excellent. You need to go to Lowe's get some carpet installed and do a review on that.
Sean Havok people sure are nasty Sean. I’m glad you told him to 🖕🏽off! You don’t need to take that crap even if it costs you subs. By the way, I like your ink. It’s what makes you, you 💪🏽. Keep up the good work brother

HK P7 is the ultimate handgun. I’ve been carrying one for years.

Nice find. The P7M8 has been a grail gun of mine since before it was in Diehard. Soon we won't be allowed to buy any handguns in Canada any more.
Damn that is a sweet example. On my wish list too but it’s even harder to get in CA.
Not on the approved handgun roster, only way to get it is through private party transfer 😢
Those pistols are so fucking rad.

you need to do a complete HK collection video bro
You and Ivan from Kit Badger have impeccable taste.
That's one fine ass pistol

"Ho, Ho, Ho, now I have a P7" Hans Gruber approves.
Sean, if you’re carrying this P7M8, which holster did you decide on?
I sold mine back in 2014. Of course I regret the fuck out of doing that now.

Damn that's pretty cool, I've never seen one before! Good shit Sean!
Love my P7. It's been my daily carry for several years.
Awesome piece man! I owned an m8 for awhile super accurate heats up very quickly.

I'm in love. The guns pretty neat too 👌
DAMN...Only one person mentioned Die Hard in the comments.....
good old gun broker making people go broke for years now!!!!!!!!! awesome find!!
I have a m7 passed down to me from original owner. It’s a cool gun but I’d much rather have a 1911 or something. What do these go for. I’d sell mine
Awesome buy! I had no idea how pricey P7s are

Congrats homie. This one’s on my bucket list, too.
Congrats Mr. Havok.

I'd love to see the range day breaking it in and testing defensive loads through it.

That's awesome Sean but I'd figure that your dream gun would be a select fire HK-MP5 but I keep forgetting that it's my dream gun.
You paid $3800 for a P7M8 without the original case and tools and manual? Are you nuts? I bought my P7M8 used but Unfired in the original box with all the paperwork and tools at Cabellas in 2008 for$1000.
Badass tats... check. Badass P7...... check you sir have leveled up! 😬
Isn’t this the first true polymer pistol? I’m sure I could be mistaken.
Sean Havok I’m an idiot I did a little more research and now all of UA-cam knows my mess up. 🤯
Pretty sure the first polymer pistol was made by HK, it wasn't this one though. Couldn't tell you the model.
WhiteDwarfVR4 yeah it was a hk vp70z.
Gorgeous
I see my question asking you if you have felt a P7 trigger may have had an effect....
What trigger are you running on your glocks?
Seen one at gun shop awhile back and had to check it out 🤔 they had gun and extra mags as a package deal I think , the squeeze grip got my attention 😀
Ahh the new intro! Your right, quick and not over the top

Congrats bud! That's awesome you got one of your dream guns. I don't much yell at your videos so much as speak spiritedly 😉
