Yup shoujo manga is entertaining. I literally binged watched Kamisama Kiss & Akatsuki no Yona. Heck i just finished reading Akatsuki no Yona and I was already hooked on it 😭
I liked shoujo manga when I was a teenager, but I don't enjoy them now as an adult. I read more seinen and sometimes, josei now. My taste changed and I enjoy mature and realistic romance over the innocent fluffy romance of shoujo.

Generally I agree with you, it doesn't tend to be my cup of tea either, but there are exceptions, like Ouran High School Host Club, which is hilarious (I prefer the anime though), and a few of the better romance ones, like Fruits Basket.
