The black eyed boy in the 2nd story is the only black eyed being I've heard of who never harmed anyone. It was also nice of him to return the jacket.
Probably a fey testing the manners of the bloke. That's likely why the jacket got returned in as good a condition as it was given. If the jacket would've been kept, the "boy" would owe a boon (- Dealing with the fey, "Gifts" given or received carry a price -)
@@JakobKaine_BrickJAK That makes sense. Maybe the spirit sensed something good in the narrator, and decided to test him. I have to admit that the parts where he was sniffing the air, and when he held the narrator's gaze until he was out of sight were pretty creepy, though.

There's a race of aliens that I can't remember the name of that are said to have black eyes and are shapeshifters but can't change their eyes when they change. I wonder if that's what those are...

I've heard dozens of BEK stories, and only once have I heard of someone being harmed. In every other one nothing happened, (I'm certainly not suggesting that they are anything but fictional) as they are so easily defeated - just don't let them in and that's that.
Undeniably spooky characters, but largely pointless.

LOVE the last story about Congaree National Swamp! That's located here in my home state of South Carolina, not far from the capital city of Columbia. I've heard lots of stories about that place, but I've only ever been in the daylight so....no paranormal adventures for me!

My girlfriend and I just returned home from vacation in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Have lived here for 32 years and this was the first adventure to the UP. One of the spots we checked out was the Black River Falls. The remoteness of the falls and how you have to get to them was really different and in a way creepy.
We stayed in Escanaba, MI and stumbled upon an abandoned and it what we gathered was an old mill on old Indian ground. We got some awesome pictures inside and decided to go back at night. I did not make it inside due to the foreboding presence of an energy I did not want to find out about. Creepiest part is there is no history about the mill. We managed to gather it was the “the old ruin of flat rock mill” which Rock, MI is about 15 minute drive from Escanaba. To much to type, maybe I’ll send you a story one day friend.
I listen to creepy stories every night, all night and you Darkness Prevails are one of my favs! Be patient keep up the good work and collaborations and you will be meeting and surpassing you subscriber goals in no time! Mothman is a bit too dry for my tastes. As for goat man, it's good, but you gotta slow cook it or it'll be tough like jerky

Story 5 is so obviously copied from a creepy pasta that has been done by several narrators ...there are enough changes to not be too close but there are many specific details that are just like that other story!

Oh, I have a related theory. That the gov protects land, not for the people, not for the land, but for _themselves!_ I think they are concealing entrances to subterranean networks. The national parks control the movement of visitors and some places are completely off limits to the public.

I initially misread the title as "Natural Fortress" and was slightly confused.
My relative seen a huge beast flying down to the bay. It came flying flying down from the main road. It was fast. I says it was the size of a skidoo or ATV. It was seen at an active hot spot for shapeshifter sightings.

I've no idea what was supposed to be happening in the stories by ShivH - didn't seem to be anything going on at all.
Also, I've never heard of a copper smell associated with blood - an iron smell, but never copper.
I think it’s a pretty common mistake.

@Tyrone the Vikang When you say "they pretty much all describe it that way", are you talking about the metallic smell from blood?
You appear to be suggesting that you've heard "all" scary stories, when it sounds like you've only heard the badly written ones, because blood has an iron smell, not copper.
Also, (the smell of) blood is described in far more than just, "scary stories" but seeing as how you mention it I've been listening to scary stories for years - couldn't say how long, but if you throw scary movies into the equation it'd be 40 years - not maybe 40 years - exactly 40 years.
Bootleg/pirate copies of horrors and 'video nasties' on VHS, Hammer House of Horror and Tales of the Unexpected, (which weren't actual horror movies, but could be pretty scary.

I don’t have any horror story to tell since I do not go into the forests, woods, or national parks where people disappear like crazy. Thanks but NO thanks!!! To begin with, I wouldn’t go to any place like the forest alone, it would have to be in a group. And secondly, I would be ARMED with a gun, a shotgun, or a high-powered rifle but NEVER, EVER unarmed. It is foolish and stupid to go into the woods, forests or national state parks without a fire arm.....it is very idiotic if you ask me. I would rather go to watch the ocean and watch it relaxing. These stories give me the creeps! But .....are they real???
