    Nice, so many of the tricks on UA-cam rely on set-up decks and i love that this one doesn't

      Me too. I like the idea of using a borrowed and shuffled deck. Thanks for watching.

    Ha! I was thoroughly misdirected verbally by your question, "Is your card still in the deck?", from thinking "key card".

    it is a powerful trick when you mix it with "The Invisible Deck" and say you made a prediction before they pulled their card and then reproduce their card... GREAT REFERENCE! (p.s. - How do you only have 265 subscribers?)

    Is there a way to do this if you allow for a bridge shuffle after the card is selected instead of a simple Hindu shuffle/overhead one (and obviously the upward fanning isn't done, either)?

    • @trapdoormagic
      @trapdoormagic  Місяць тому

      Well, a bridge shuffle doesn't disturb the cards, but the riffle before it will. The idea of the Hindu is that it looks like the card is placed in a random position (because it is) but the Hindu helps you retain the key card position. So, as long as you know the key, you can do anything you want. And once you know the card, anyone and everyone can shuffle all they want :)

  • @craigberg1942
    @craigberg1942 22 дні тому +1

    I did not understand how you shuffled so that the key card would then be placed on top of the chosen card.

    • @trapdoormagic
      @trapdoormagic  21 день тому

      Key card was on the bottom of the deck. Hindu shuffle until they say STOP. When they put their card in the deck, you put the rest of the packet on top of it. That puts the key on the chosen card.

    • @craigberg1942
      @craigberg1942 21 день тому

      @@trapdoormagic I understood that, but I don't know how to do the Hindu shuffle.

      There are some crazy ones here, out of top of my mind. There are bunch more outthere. Can link you up later. But if this video is true what he says, that it's not staged, than these are out of this world - mentalists...and i know, never trust a magician. After all, I was one until I saw something I couldn't reach.

      Shin Lim is among the most impressive sleight-of-hand artists on the planet today, and he learned his craft almost entirely from UA-cam. If you know the name of what you want to learn, someone will be teaching it. You may have to subscribe or buy a book, DVD or other instructional material, but contrary to popular belief, we magicians don't make our artform so inaccessible that you have to sell your soul to be initiated!

    • @melonethtassartir9686
      @melonethtassartir9686 Місяць тому

      @@apostatereacts yeah but they won't sell their current tricks. Shin lim is amazing slight of hand artist. I know 96% how he does and yet I couldn't do not 1% of his acts. He has charisma, looks, and dedication to make moves perfect which takes a lot of time above the skill he also posses. I just love seing him because it's so enjoyeable that i don't care much what he does, just how beautiful he does it. Lior Suchard is also fun to watch, his tricks i have no idea how he does them, but i don't like about him that apart from acts, he is full of sh on how he does it which makes him a lot less interesting than Shin Lim, but still fun to watch - sometimes. Mentalism is something I wouldnt' dare to touch. For me not interesting to learn - don't have time nor will to put effort in reading that much about human psychology. MARKOBI is just crazy dude. His slight of hand is unparalled, and his sense od humor is something to study. It leaked how he does what he does and i didn't took time to learn this because it's not about just performing a trick. You have to sell it too. You have to have humor, charisma. Yet, I am not tallkng about those tricks. I did post a link to what i wanted to learn, but yt deleted my comment and i wrote so much, i hated to write all of it again, so i just gave up. I am not that much into magic anymore because i couldn't make this profitable to be worth investing my time. After 45 hours work a week and raising almost a teenager, i just don't have luxury to put that much effort into something that i am not capable to cash in back. It was easy when i had time to practice for days in front of mirror to do stuff that Dynamo and David Blaine did back in the days you know before David started being extreme psycho raising his acst to alien level of dedication and balls. Maybe scratch the word act, because I really believe it's not an act anymore. Just crazy.
