Thank you to all my Patrons!
Turn Me On is one of their most straightforward hard rock songs. Like you said is a bit of Black Sabbath and Metallica but with the "magic touch" that only Band-Maid has. If i'm not mistaken they had the support of Kentaro Akutsu (composer of Thrill) on the writing of this song, which will kinda explain the super cool and tasty old school hard rock sound
Wave, you are spot on. Even with your eyes closed, you can tell it's Band Maid playing. They are powerful and no one sounds like them.
Amen to that Charles ! I wonder if the Maids are aware of how distinctive their sound has become !
@@frankandre4385 I don't know. Perhaps we need to let them know about this! We are truly witnessing something special, Frank!
@@charlescoleman4017 I have to drop you a line on an idea I have .
Saw them live last year with every intention of closely watching MISA and Kanami then Saiki came out and I couldn't take my eyes off her, thank goodness someone posted the show so I could look back at what I missed. Will see them this Sunday in Minneapolis and try my hardest to resist getting fixated on the lead singer.
Resistance Is Futile.
@@garyketo8419 I know, I'm just kidding myself lol.
I fell under her spell also. Wasn’t expecting such power and charisma. Saiki was the biggest surprise for me from the live show
@@MusicMike747 I saw them in TGT and everyone was saying how powerful and great Saiki sounded and looked.
Anyone who likes Band-Maid, or is a fan of Band-Maid, or is a certified Maidiac, owes it to themselves to experience IN FULL, both 2017 Shinkiba Studio Coast AND 2018 ZEPP concerts. None are better -- even counting the awesome 2021 Shibuya concert -- for sound, atmosphere, performance and song list. Thx, Wave, for bringing us this cut from the 2018 ZEPP concert!
As amazing as those shows are, I honestly think LCS has been their finest performance captured on film despite the so-so mix, The crowd and band interactions were really off the charts. Saiki had that entire crowd wrapped around her little finger.
@@billb.5183 I love the 2021 Shibuya concert. But as a musician, the mix and sound is a key factor for my enjoyment, along with performance, setlist, and audience / ambience, etc. So just on that basis, I'd have to pick the 2017 Studio Coast and 2018 Zepp concerts as my fave. Case in point: compare the Studio Coast version of Puzzle with the recent release of the Tokyo Garden version. Thx, billb!
Thanks Tom... Someday I hope to see those concerts in their entirety !
@@billb.5183 It's true for the mix or for the interaction with the audience, or the vocal performance of Saiki and his stage presence, the intros, the lights shows but I also think for the quality of Miku's guitar level. In fact, each concert is different and everyone will have their preference. My only regret, as a foodie never satisfied with Band Maid dishes, is not having the Shinkiba and Zepp lives on DVD or Blu-Ray in my collection.😋
I could draw details out of each one of those shows that are standouts. All in all thank goodness for prime so I can watch them all in full how ever many times I want. 😁
One of my favorites! A week away from Band-Maid, so anxious!
every now and then Mincho has to show what she can do. so use to her tapping and then you pointed out that she was picking. i had to watch that part about 3 times, god she can play
Thank you, Wave ! You've made my whole week !
Good request Frank😜🫡
Thank you for the request Frank!
Thx Frank, one of my fave B-M songs & my all time fave Kanami solo :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 I thought of you when I requested it ! If I had requested " DON'T YOU TURN ME ON " maybe we would have heard the ultimate Holloway Two-fer ! 😁
@@frankandre4385 HAHA. That would've been a dream come true :)
Turn me On became one of their popular songs on Spotify when it appeared on a list of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The same thing is currently happening with Hate?.
The last three minutes of that song is one big EARGASM!
"Turn Me On" is still one of my faves - this live performance slays me every time. Such a rocker! (And Saiki's "I'm'a not'a like you" drives the knife in deeper)
The bridge is sick. Once again : what an experience.
Even the "Neil Ellwood Peart" was surprised.😆😆😆🥁🥁🥁
You did react to Turn Me on before. In fact it was where I found out about Band Maid Prime. Thanks again for that Wave!
Miku had me with the finger wag, but then she went and added the head tilt. 💖
The head tilt does it every time.😌
I love this whole Zepp Tokyo concert
They seem to have confidence now. I'd say cockiness if they were a little more egotistical, but they don't have to brag because they know they're good.
Yes, "Tiny Hat" didn't until after 2018. She didn't have it during their 2019 tours.
Cool. After you see them, you should do some breakdowns from a composition perspective with thoughts on how their composition process contributes to the intricate arrangements and interplay between the parts. I bet I'm not the only one who would be interested. (It would be a lot of work, though, so.....)
Kanami dress is much prettier that what she wears now. But she can jam no matter what she wears. This is what 90s rock should have been.
MISA Bass intro on Turn Me On is one of my favorite intros from her ... (along with all the others 😁)
See you in Minneapolis!
Digging the shades, Wave! How is Rosie and your player to be named later doing? I hope all is well in your world!
5 days!!! Can’t wait!!!!
Akane!!!
8:30 it’s Richi Blackmore!
MISA!!! MISA!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃
Yep, you've done it before
Is that epic Band-Maid livestream still happening? I'd love to be there and give you a sub!
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
"Was it Don't Let Me Down? Is it?"🤣🤣🤣
The song title "Turn Me On" led you to this thought?🤔
You meant "Don't You Tell Me" (live)...probably😏
I bet you've watched that concert many times already, I know I have haha
To me their live audio is the version I listen to almost everyday. Even though I have their CDs I hardly ever play them. If they ever going to release live album I'll definitely buy them.
@@lurkmerchant same, I have a couple of their vinyl records but never play them because their live versions are like 100 times better.
SAIKI’ voice has changed since then; it’s now deeper and richer.
Didn't she have surgery on her vocal folds some time back?
The only thing is that Matchless Gum won't sound as sassy with her current voice. But it's only one song.
Was the sound slow down a bit? I remember the TGT livestream and sound was phenomenal
Urgently back these intros and the tiny hat!
Rocking the Maids are now in their 30's I would guess -does anyone know their actual present age indivually.
The one you were trying to remember is don't you tell me....same concert I think..🐌
When did Saiki ever look uncomfortable? You guys need to stop ASSuming shit. AKANE IS MY GODDESS OF ALL BAND MAID GODDESSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No matter how many Japanese bands you listen to, how good they are...I still think that no bands are as distinctive as Band-Maid.
BandMaid, Lovebites, YOYOKA ( and other awesome, mostly Japanese and Asian female musicians) have ruined music for me! Everything else sounds like crap now!
I second that 💯%
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 😀
You are correct. I listen to some classic rock, and the Asian music only.
It all started with "Audery" > Yoyoka in my case. And has ended with the Maids. There are still good things here, but they, like Band-Maid, are not sold out.
@@kerrylewis7964 Exactly! It's partly a function of time for me. But basically, I don't listen to anything else, not because there isn't "anything" good, but I just find all I want in this small subset of music. No need to look any further! Have a great day!
Loved it!! Only 3 more days until the Chicago Maidathon🔥🔥🔥🔥2 shows in 12 hours and there are still tickets left for the late night Thursday night ahow at Park West which is a really good venue.
Live rendition of "Turn Me On" is of course taken from the Start Over Blu-Ray of Band-Maid's performance at Zepp Tokyo which took place on April 13, 2018 during the World Domination tour.✌️❤️🤘
One of Kanami's really nice rhythm leads. Crisp up strums - she plays these so clean, never sloppy.
A Band-maid fan like you don't recognize this song. This album is good from start to finish. Like the previous two albums.
One of the best and forgotten solos.
Hey Wave... for Band-Maid week, maybe do a reaction to a MIDI cover, LOL. I suggest Take Me Higher.
I love that Turn me on and DYTM (KANAMI&MISA duel) one two punch from Zepp dvd
Someone out there must have the full 2017 Akasaka Blitz performance on tape. So much energy at that show, half an hour just wasn't enough!
I can't wait for Band-Minneapolis!
Hoping to run into you Sunday, It'll be my 1st okyu-ji also. 🤘
Great songs.
turn me on is a great song. you just want it to keep going. Oops. forgot to mention - I did not see any isolation moves!!!!!!
these new live intros are an extra treat
Turn Me On is so overlooked… but it has one of the best Bass vs Guitar duels
MISA was truly the MVP of the TGT show. She was on fire.
I feel like an argument could be made (maid?) that MISA is the MVP of every song she’s on.
@@PaleHorseShabuShabu Most definitely!
