Is BDO still worth getting into as someone who never played it before? How's the leveling progression and server activity? Is it likely to die soon?

As a new player, getting into BDO is super worth in my opinion. The game has somewhat bad reputation amongst MMO community on various aspects of its gameplay which majority of them are simply wrong or outdated. Things like p2w has been severely reduced/changed over time also overall direction of game with each updates are f2p and new-player friendly. You probably heard it by now but one huge deal-breaker for you, might be that there is limited amount of group activity/content in this game. Game doesn't revolve around where you make your gear from dungeon/raids. By not forcing that it opens up some niche gameplay with lot's of other appeals which i cannot get into all of them in this answer but look up if you get interested :D
- Levelling/gearing progression - I strongly advice you to create your character on Seasonal servers( Think servers in this game as channels. What matter is your region eg:NA, EU,SA,SEA.) Season servers are special servers designed to help players progress faster for a set period ,on constant cycle.
- Is it likely to die soon? - Depends which region you are gonna start on. EU and NA have active-healthy population and far from dying soon. But for example, my previous region - TR&MENA - although still not likely to die soon, is not desirable for true MMORPG experience if i were to put it this way :)

I'm mostly worried about the leveling experience. I like grinding and I find a lot of fun in the journey itself, I want it to happen organically so I get frustrated when old games simplify or outright remove early content and progression for the sake of coddling new players by catapulting them into endgame directly. I get why they do this but it doesn't feel earned or satisfying, and messes up the learning curve.
I guess I'm pretty unique in that sense.
Question is, would I stumble across other players in my level range and be able to find parties in mid-late pre-endgame?
Also, I don't think I've heard of the limited content thing you mentioned :o Can you elaborate a bit or point me towards a video on the subject?
As for the playlist:
- Lots of familiar names, some unexpected, some new ones. Admittedly I hoped there would be more of the electronic/synth stuff, but still nice :P
- Few suggestions to add are Pain and Turmion Katilot if you like industrial metal, and Cyberthing! for synth (I can't recommend those enough)
@@osav. BDO is a true open-world sandbox game in that sense it doesn't force you down a progression line. You can chose to do whatever . You will stumble across players on anywhere on doing any activity becouse its not a game where there are multiple instanced zones and endgame players are piled down to 1 or 2 zones. What i meant with limited group play is that if you chose to earn silver by grinding killing mobs you do that, following a rotation over and over as solo except handful spots where you party with people.If you chose to earn silver by doing life-skill professions they are mostly done by solo aswell except handful of them etc etc. There are 3 dungeons as of now that you can complete as 5 -man on weekly basis and with the upcoming expansion this week ,there will be solo boss rushes .Here is a teaser of it

Party -play is mostly for pvp content in this game and becouse of that its quite unconventional. That's why i wanted to warn you if that is a red flag to you BDO is not the game to play.

What do you think about evasion build in Maegu?
Thanks :) Both dr and evasion are valid on her As with the latest nerfs taking away her range pressure, melee combat is now forced-essential than it used to be so evasion should be the clear optimal build. assuming you have gear for it.

I like Spirit Parade better , chained with e/f>flow so that i have another protected(mostly) gap closer with decent dmg. I believe Heavenly Return do more harm than good with that relatively slow, unprotected animation . Personally its just an unnecessary risk for low reward.

I'm a returner, I want to restart with Maegu, but I've read she's gotten some nerfs, is she currently top tier in 1v1?

Thank you :) Yes, she's gotten nerfs and there are upcoming nerfs aswell. If you utilize your clone she is very good in 1v1's, you might have a hard time against sa block classes depending on gear range you fight becouse her range pressure is nerfed. Overall she is pretty strong in PVP.

Thank you! Maegu is very fun ,skills are smooth and clone mechanic feels unique.I enjoy her more than Dk but only becouse im burned out from her. i dont wanna be a hater but i have to say cringe..
i always hated maegu for the stupid clone play.. you can't be grabbed, can't be touched and it takes minimum level of skill..
I have to disagree with you that she doesnt have any skill expression especially on her clones. However i understand that it feels unfair and very frustrating to fight her in isolation
