Lauri said live after the competition that winning the best was a much bigger thing for him than winning the first competition. It says a lot how much Lauri appreciates you.
This was easily one of the most entertaining events to watch. The amount of tension with each qualifying run and battle was just insane, I had no clue who would win
I kinda hated it, the track was undrivable in the rain making like 80% of the wet quali runs were basically just filler carnage scoring like what, an average of like 70? And then every dry run was like an 80+, so the drivers that got only wet runs kinda get kicked down the order for no reason other than the weather. I dont know if rain delays make sense but it was frustrating seeing the difference in scores between wet and dry, like, of course the dry runs are gonna be better but to let them in the show over drivers who got only wet qualifying just kinda takes the spirit out of qualifying. Turns it from actual skill to: who can get the best conditions for their run
the shot where youre watching the team fix the car after practice and you say "oh look at that" to the damage has got to be the equivalent of a proud parent watching their kid do something cool lol
Halfway through the FD and DMEC seasons, Deane has podiumed (or won) every single event (including OIDC) he's competed in this year. A legend-solidifying year already.
This was the craziest drift event I've ever seen. Well done on the podium finish! I was in total shock when you spun during qualifying, but I knew you'd pull through!
Thank you for coming to Finland this year! ❤ It was such a pleasure to finally meet the machine himself in person and seeing the s14 flirting with the walls, hope to see you again next year! 🥰
Lot of drivers sais that drifting is all about driving for fans. For a perpective of a fan, the finnish stage was was everything for the fans. Changing conditions, wet and dry, crashes and clean runs. And the home favourite won.
Savage driving as always James, very close battle with Lauri, genuinely thought it was a one more time, who ever hit u 30feet after the line in practice needs a serious talking to, that cud have been so much worse
To say that conditions were treacherous I think is an understatement, also that hit in practice 30ft after the finish line was bonkers and unnescessary. Certainly one of the most unpredicable events weather wise I have seen in a long while.
i cant believe how hard is this year and how you still driving 130% always, thats why u are a legend bro, i love u james you always make my day better with all your videos! cant wait for the next formula drift round, lets goooooooooooo
By far best looking car on the grid, with this stunnishing livery. Cant stop watching it man! Keep rolling fella wish u luck in both competitions for the rest of the season,we know u can do it !
This event looked super challenging but was so gripping to watch everyone battle the changes in weather and terrain. As always James, truly inspirational driving, the angle coming over the bump into the last corner you were getting on some of those runs was crazy, and running the wall almost all the way round the first corner nearly every battle. Great driving man, throughly entertaining video
Absolute immaculate skills, one and first wet lap in qualifying with a VERY patchy track and still ending up completely killing the second qualifying run with a 94🤯
Wait this was the first time you ever drove the track? For some reason I thought you had before but damn, pulling off a podium at a brand new track is damn amazing, just like Connor at Orlando, Ireland has some special water for sure!
Hey James, can you do a video on explaining why you use more hand break in the chase than left foot break like for example, Connor Shanahan? This is definitely a question coming from curiosity and not judging your performance. And id ask why he uses more foot brake rather than hand brake. Genuinely interested in your take.
It was a disgrace, what ever about the bumps while drifting on track the one 30 feet after the finish was wreckless, how James kept his cool is credit to him
6:36 tbh i've been following you for a few years now and i'm a big fan and love how professional you are but that was the first unprofessional moment i saw from you so far. I get you frustration 100% but going back at him like that wasn't necessary.. You're better then this buddy... I feel like something is going with you this season somehow. Keep it up bud, try to relax a little and keep in mind you started drifting for fun 😉
Im hoping for a scenario where you win drift master championship and formula drift in same year. I know your the goat but after that, it wouldn't be an argument anymore.

im more saying for the fact so there isnt any incomplete runs, the drivers have to atleast be able to drive the track with some consistency to be competitive eh ?
@@joz1751 there were only incompletes because of the rain (and the lack of a lot of practice in the rain at that). the surface isn't good, sure, but it's not what's causing the incompletes
