    I'm in California. Knowing Shim Lim is in Vegas makes me want to plan a trip to Vegas just to support my Asian brother. All love my brother 🙏 Wishing you the best and thank you for showing us and paving the way for future Asian kids by showing them it can be done with hardwork.

    Shin Lim's inspiring journey from a self-taught amateur magician to a world-renowned performer is a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

    The story of Shin Lim is a typical story of many Asian families, either in the West or in Asian countries. It is a sequence: learning at school, getting school degree, keeping learning at university, earning university certificate and going out to work. So, when children find something which is fascinating but out of this sequence, parents are more likely to oppose it. There are possibilities for this story: either children have to accept to learn in the favor of their parents, but still make their dreams come true in secret, or struggle for what they pursuit.

      @Dk Oneshot I saw this interview and I can say that his family was lucky when there was no negative thing happened. I were talking about a typical Asian family, especially a typical East Asian family.

    • @hoangkimviet8545
      @hoangkimviet8545 Рік тому +2

      @@aZnchuux3 Yeah. I understand that some details in his story are not quite identical to what I say. However, I believe it is the initial mind of his parents. Fortunately, in his story, there was no remarkable conflict when he chose magician career instead of university and post-university learning.

    Im in Africa rn and i really wanna be in the US in order to live my dream as a magician. It's very difficult especially when no one supports you. But watching shin has inspired me. Im 17 now and I don't know when I'll be calling myself ready. No magic shops nothing. I only have to rely on YT and free magic pdf to practice magic. And sometimes my imagination. Thanks Shin, thanks Asian boss.

    The secret is really no secret: work hard and don't be afraid to chase your dreams. Don't fear failure; learn from those lessons. Obviously, skill plays its part, so keep learning and honing whatever it is you love doing. Shin Lim's success exemplifies those fundamental lessons.

    Saw Shin Lim’s show, Limitless, in Las Vegas. More important than the magic is how he brushes his hand through his hair many times during the show 😂

    Although almost polar opposite to each other in terms of style, both Stephen and Shin are both such hotties. Their talent, intelligence, drive, self-awareness, courage to display vulnerability, down-to-earthedness, HAIR STYLE etc. Thank you for this Easter goodie. 😂♥️

    Can confirm. The northeastern US doesn't typically go crazy over celebrities outside of venues. They're just another person trying to go about their day, the same as the rest of us. If we happen to be riding the same elevator or walking through a doorway at the same time we may give a brief compliment or acknowledgement but seeing Emma Watson dining at your restaurant or driving past Stefani Germanotta's house is just like "that's kind of cool, now back to humming that earworm".

    Magic is a borderline phenomenon, which shows us the limits of our human tools of perception, much like music, by the way, - as you cannot e.g. satisfactorily 'describe' a Rachmaninov piano concerto in the narrow framework of 'words'. The same holds true for magic. There is a lack of tangibility which could be called illusion, but that doesn't sit well with me. I'd rather refer to it as the tangible limits of our perception, which helps us not only to stand in awe, but also to attain humility and as a result, gratefulness.
