These look like great markers. I love the techniques you demonstrated here. I think my favorite is the use of the salt....and I must say I like the alcohol too. A great video...thanks for the information. TFS

These markers are designed for the Adult colorists, for them to be able to "take Coloring to another level". Maybe this will explain that not everyone can paint with watercolors. They are easy to use and the techniques taught are pretty easy to learn. Something for everyone.

I bought 2 sets the first one is Nature and Essentials. will buy the other two sets, can not wait to try this. I have trouble with the regular spectrum noir markers, wish they had these first. Price is not to bad. Go to crafters companion to see these.

First, I just want to say that you did a wonderful job showing all these great techniques. You're video was awesome. However, I'm a little confused... Why would anyone go to the expense of buying these markers?? Every single technique you demonstrated can be done with regular watercolor paints -- The pens were absolutely unnecessary; they never touched the paper.
I think the pens look like they'd be fun to use... Could you make a video showing some techniques that actually use the pens?
(Please don't take this post the wrong way. I'm not trying to be critical, snarky, or mean-spirited.)
Thanks for sharing a great video! :)

I agree with this completely! And see people doing this all the time with almost every water media and it really makes me wonder why the heck not just buy the paints! I understand maybe Paletting a color to mix something if you really needed that color! But when I buy pens like this i wanna use it on the paper or else it makes no sense at all to me. You have a right to be critical because it makes absolutely no sense why to have a pen form of something when the pen part is used for apparently nothing but to do what squirting watercolor on a pallete does. I just don't understand the logic

It is not an "ombre", it is a gradient, and an ombre isn't specifically dark to light either, it's just a gradation of color period /rant

Hello Jenn, I see this is an old video, I’m not sure if you get comments anymore, I really love these techniques, I have the Illustrator markers and I’m just looking to buy some of the Aqua markers, and I’m interested in the eBrush system, it’s not easy to find anymore but, is it difficult to use? I watched some other videos some say it’s kind of finicky, what do you think? I just want it for backgrounds very light spray. 😊

Love the new markers..i was wondering thow can you just color with these? not use them as watercolor markers, just like you would use regular markers? And if yes will they blend together if you use more then one or do you need water to do that? thank you hugs Deb

I love watercolor markers but what I don't understand is when people only use them to scribble out on a palette only and not even use the marker to paper and then use watercolor to blend them if needed, cause if you're just going to scribble it on a pallete why not just get watercolor paints, it's the same thing and probably more archival!

+sladeyy I absolutely agree and thought the same thing. You could also do these techniques with the dye ink pads, and even the cheap water based markers. (though they wouldn't be archival).

I don't understand. I've never seen these. Can you tell me why they come in a "marker" form if you have to use them like paints anyway? Why not just use it as a marker?

yeah, I'd like to know too. I have watercolour markers and I use them a bit differently, but I think buying them was a waste of money anyway...

as with say tom bow markers... i use my winsor newton watercolor markers , and of i want a watercolor look i add water with a water brush or paint brush, sometimes u want water based markers instead of alcohol based markers that make sense? she is only showing watercolor techniques for some odd reason.... maybe just doesn't know they can be used just s markers? it is confusing

Hello,. I purchaed a set of the FLoral Spectrum Aqua markers and two of the markers are basically the same purple color and 3 of the markers are considerably off the shade that they show on the box and marker lid. Very disappointed. Not a nice Floral palette.

These markers are comparatively pricey. They get some nice effects but I wish I had not bought them. At the time I did not know about light fastness/color fastness. If the product is not light fast it will eventually fade. If you just want them for a hobby, or for practice, that's fine. But if you want something to last, look around. From what I have seen on the net, there is no information on the light fastness of these markers.
