Saenchai is the Catch-22 of Muay Thai. Play along and he makes you look like a clown but you'll get home safe. Try to disrespect or actually beat him and he beats the will to resist out of you without missing a beat and clowns you anyway.

Always loved martial arts and just started watching these videos. This dude is just hilarious. One of the few personalities who can get away with this stuff and not come off as an arrogant ass. I think it's because it's genuinely done in good heartedness and fun. It makes a hige difference in how it's perceived. It's also a huge part of his head game to mess with opponents, not just simply to show off. The vibe of this is so different from any mma league in the West. Its a refreshing take on fighting. Im going to start training at one of the best gyms in my area to learn muay thai. There is some pretty decorated people who came through there and went on to do some big things. Its great to have access to such good instruction. Great videos! Been watching them all! 🎉

Sanchai's style made him a legend of Thai Boxing over the decades.
He is a gentleman with honour. He punished all violations of honour behaviour in the ring, and offer a sparring the opponent can learn instead of destroy him. What a legend!

He's got to be up there, maybe even beyond, Ali. In terms of legendary status, he transcends fighting in the same way Ali does... he is iconic in terms of philosophy as well, he wants to represent Mauy Thai in a beautiful way, less worried about being a champion. Ali said that the heavy weights before and after him all they were trying to do was knock each others heads off, there was no beauty in it. That's why he felt he was the greatest, not because he won but because he showed the beauty of it.
That counter cross is so simple but beautiful. He is like watching a ballet dancer, its like he is doing his own dance and everyone else needs to keep up or get kicked out.
As long as Saenchai thinks you're not a threat. He only wanted to win and would not hurt his opponent. But if the opponent loses face or something similar, he will cause more injury than it should. Because Saenchai is normally only violent towards fellow Muay Thai boxers. Therefore, if you know that you cannot fight, you should not do things that disrespect Saenchai. You all should see what Saenchai has done to Muay Thai boxers. Today he is much kinder.

After that he got pissed off that the oponent know how to punch and kick but is clueless on how to fight and just beat them mercilessly so they may learn something.
To me Saenchai is one of the greatest fighters ever. He made it look easy. Yes he is a joker, and likes to play around but you piss him off, he will end it right there. Imagine being that good at something, you can joke around and still dominate at what you are doing.
Saenchai and Buakaw are embassadors of muay thai, absolute legends.
