The US version of this game is far harder than the Japenese version, Bare Knuckle 3. Some even say that BK3 on hardest is even easier than SOR3 on easy.
This boss is pretty easy to beat, if your able to keep him off the screen. It's when he breaks out of his routine that he becomes a nuisance
I loved and hated this boss fight. This where I always lost all my fucking lives but was dancing at the same time.

This is the easiest boss fight if you know the strategy : every time the boss is beaten off the screen, keep you character to that side of the screen and he will jump to the other side. Soon as you here him jump, rush to the other side, try to grapple him and throw him to the other side of the screen and repeat the procedure from the beginning. If he comes in front of you, he will do that spear like charge - use special to tackle it.
Rage dancing.
I thought Jet and Robot X were the hardest bosses. This one is actually easier IMO

Christ almighty, this boss fight goes on for a long time. Just encountered this guy for the first time in the SOR4 Mr X Nightmare DLC.
One of the best bosses in videogame history. Underrated as hell and im never seeing this in any top boss video list.

Totally agree. I dont understand why in the japanese version (the best one) Yamato is so easy to beat, they should have made him more difficult and with more special movements or at least some combo hits.

The samurai from "Knights of the round" is also pretty badass.

No joke, streets of rage 3 is my favorite video game of all time. Ive played this game so many times and never get sick of it. Truly one of gamings best masterpieces
The fact that people shit on this game because of the US release is just beyond me, such a great game this is.
one of the best bosses i have ever fought
compared to the previous streets of rage titles, this one was really difficult and the various endings and hidden characters were a special touch.
Yeah it’s unknown why they ramped up the difficulty so much in the Western releases of the game: it’s Easy mode was more difficult than Hard mode in the original Japanese release.

Why does this guy work for the syndicate anyway? He is a samurai who has magical powers and can split into three clones of himself. Mr. X only has a machine gun and street thugs.

I think that didnt happen because Yamato is a Samurai, despite he works for the evio Syndicate he still has his honor.

Every 40k points you get a star (under the health bar) that upgrades your running attack. 3 stars gives you the spinning grand upper :3
I remember the first time facing off against this boss when I was a kid, the fact that he had his own boss music and everything really amped up the sense of "Oh...you thought THAT was hard before?" right before he brutally beat my 10 year old ass. My Dad saw the invisible sprites and remarked "Wow he's just like the Predator"
This game is insanely hard! I've never even beaten it. A Final Boss challenge is one thing like in SOR1 and 2, but the bosses in this game are just plain ridiculus.

i liked this boss, but I suppose the music played a big part. a pity the game didn't develop them so you'd like them more.

I only managed to lend the game for a few days once years ago. Yamato took away tons of my lives on Easy. While I had no time to learn how to defeat the bosses/new enemies properly, this is impressive. Nice to see him get taught a lesson. I never even managed to beat the game. I was amazed I couldn't do it, when I could beat the other on Normal with 1 life.
A example where the JAPANESE VERSION IS *_EASIER_* than the International version, rather than the Other Way Round.

@@iputyouinmyoveni5541 if you dont die for a while and get enough points you get a star. The stars upgrade your attacks. 3 stars gives you an upgrafed run attack.
You can also do it with a 6 button controller using the X button X series moves. Keep hold of X and press ⬅️⬇️➡️. Sure it's easier to do with just pressing ➡️➡️ attack. But if you lose a life or something like this, you lose stars. But you can do the X series all the time.

is a Damage multiplier, winning each level WITHOUT LOSING any lives you get one star. The more stars you have, more damage you do and is more easy to deal with some bosses

Good work on Yamato, especially on SoR3 Hard! But one thing i would disagree on is that SoR3 on Easy is NOT easier than BKIII on Very Hard, in fact, i would put it in the same level as BKIII on Hard. However, we can all agree that SoR3 Normal is WAY harder than BKIII on Hard and maybe at around the same level as SoR2 Mania.

I didn't find any boss after stage 1 easy at all until i got to the final boss. The bosses in this game for me are an extreme level of difficulty that's pretty surprising considering im seasoned at old school games like this and shouldn't be finding it so hard

I couldn't get into SOR3, I only played it briefly. SOR2, however, is awesome.
In SOR2 you get to beat up Ninja's on a pirate ship.... How f**king awesome is that!!!!

This guys moves like SoR 2 first boss.
There are a lot of differences between BK3 and SoR3 but BK3 isnt that much easier than SoR3. I read somewhere that in SoR3 the difficulties from BK3 were put up a level (normal on BK3 is equal to easy in SoR3). Though the bosses have more lives ( yamato here has 4 where as in BK3 he has only one). Therefor the health penalty for using a special move when your power bar wasnt full was a lot harder in BK3. I think people bash to much on the difficulty of BK3, its still a tough game on Very Hard.
The fool performed Mijin from the Shinobi series at zero lives and didn't even land the attack...

Yamato says "Magic". Depending on which of the three, they say several different variations of "Magic" something or other. I can't make out the final two.

Ya know I think the best way to drop that boss is to smack him down and whatever then rush him from behind. He always flips in the opposite direction of whatever of you and you can totally exploit that, nice vid though. I wish I could play with someone on this game on hard mode I never beat it and what's worse is I even increase the lives. Got to the last boss and counters EVERYTHING. That spinning disco whatever....anywho good vid
Hated the bullshit gimmicks of the bosses being able to cheese off-screen and the cheap shots they'd do, still love these games to death to this day though.
I like it. The game made you think extremely hard on how to counter it.

Never understood why US version is difficult than JP
Because of video-game rental business. If you could just rent a game and then beat it in a couple of days - you would have less of a reason to actually buy it, so certain games were made harder for an american release. I can only guess that Japan itself either didn't have such practices at all, or they were somehow regulated.
