I have been looking for a fellow witch to break down the steps of burning on charcoal discs, in a way that shows you step by step - so thank you I would love to see more "How to" videos from you Avalon you are such a fantastic teacher and wealth of knowledge 🤩
Thank you for the information. I'm new to using charcoal discs. Initial motivation was to make my own black salt. I am new to all of this and welcome suggestions & recommendations. Blessed Be ✨️💫💜
I like burning loose incense or resin when doing some longer work/spells as when it starts to burn out I can just add more. I use stick and cone incense for quick meditation or a short work.
Nice! I typically don’t use ready made incense for magic perfection raw, natural and purpose made. I do however adore using stick and rope incenses to aroma infuse my home.
You are so welcome! I share with my subscribers information they want to hear. You're at the top of my list of Witches who I trust to give not only for myself but my subscribers get the most clarity. 🦁💚
I’m so glad you posted this. I just got my first cauldron and was about to light a disc inside, on my desk, in an enclosed space. I also love the demonstration of different blends. I would love to see you handcrafting some of these mixes.
I'm glad you mentioned the lighting agents in charcoal discs. I'm trying to find the bamboo charcoal discs, which are harder to light but are only just becoming a bit easier to find in Australia
Fantastic Avalon... now that you've made this video it's strange to me that nobody made it before 😅 I use crushed pieces of pumice stone in the bottom of my cauldron or censer to sit my charcoal on for a little extra heat proofing. I also use old blunt eyebrow tweezers as tongs, they just work best for me. I'm so glad a level headed witch like you is putting solid information like this out there! Definitely keep going with making these type of videos 😎💕🙌
Thanks mate! I love the pumice stone idea. How does it fair under the heat? I’m curious. And I’ve even used chopsticks 🥢 in a pinch. Gotta love the innovation behind witches hey!
Avalon Cameron the pumice pieces work really well, I’ve been doing it for a while. Pumice has those little holes in it for the heat to escape from, maybe that’s why? I just bring it home from the beach, leave it out in the rain for a while and after it dries I hit it with a hammer 🔨 and cover the bottom of my heat proof receptacle. It’s also the best and only thing I use to exfoliate dead skin off my feet, teehee 🙃 I’m editing to add that I use different pieces of pumice on my feet and in my cauldron 😅
Hi Avalon, I would much appreciate a video on an alternative. I do all my witchy working in the house, mostly in the basement, and I love my loose incense I make, but I can’t burn the disk in the basement because there are no windows. Upstairs, I always set off my smoke alarm. The smoke alarm is connected with my security system and risk the fire department showing up every time it goes off. This was great content! Thx
HELLO GORGEOUS! I use the bamboo disk...and because they are smaller brick style I use a mesh piece hovering over the brick to burn my resins...I have asthma so I only burn resins...herbs burning smell too much like weed to me...now since I dont have an outside space anymore I cant burn anything...I now make some resin sprays to cleanse my home and myself every day especially b4 going outdoors...but someday soon I will burn some magik again...thank you for this back to basics 101....you gave a lot of good info others tend to miss...Goddess blessings 💚
Cool! I hear the bamboo discs take longer to light. I’ve never used the eco discs so I’m curious to know if this is true? What are your thoughts on the matter?
@@AvalonCameron it takes just a few xtra mins longer, they are small thick brick size and so tongs are really needed to hold but they smoke just the same but burn just about the same time frame as the traditional disk
i use a cast iron "fire starter" (it's an old-school item used to keep an accelerant, like animal fat or an oil of some kind that came with a brush or "dipper" of some kind)
Thank you for the tutorials! I appreciate your channel! I was wondering if you could do a video on other ways to use tarot cards? I know some people use it for journal prompts. Last night I placed the ace of wands under my pillow and it felt so good! I woke up feeling better. What other ways can the cards be used? Thank you Avalon!
Hi Avalon!! Thank you for this :-) Yes please make more like this :-) I'm actually reading alot about wish bottles and how to make conjure oils etc. so that would be a great video for me :-) Again..thank you, and blessings to you and your children :-)
Please continue with these instructional videos. I am very new to Wicca and am in the process of learning all I can about it. I have a natural calling towards it. I'm absolutely fascinated by anything and everything that has to do with it. As I said I am in the learning stages to see if I am on the correct path for some reason the more I learn the more know that I am. Your channel is extremely helpful. I'm not sure what type of oil is used when you have dry herbs that represents certain qualities for example protection. I know there is a formula with what types of herbs you would use in a bottle but what about the type of oil? Perhaps you can steer me in the right direction. I so enjoy your channel. I am wishing you light and positive vibes from my home to yours! Thank you for sharing.💕
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. So, are you looking at magical oils? Magical oils and their properties? I’ll happily make a video on such subjects.
Love these videos. Very informative. Can you reuse a burnt charcoal disk? I had times where I didn't want to use the whole charcoal disk in one sitting, but it doesn't work as well when I try to reuse it. Any tips? Thank you so much.
If you have half burned charcoal disc you can pour a little parafine candle wax over it and it will burn once more. Just a little though or you’ll have a fire ball.
Hi Avalon, Lex here! I’m going to need alternatives lol! I love making my own blends but I’ve got my mother living w/ me recently now & she bitches at the smell of them! Also has copd & emphysema etc.. Also!, I’m curious to know where you’ve gotten your black beeswax candles’ black holder? Looks like there’s a dish part around the holder, which would b great for offerings around..great for what I’m needing right now!!🖤 I’m loving the vibe for the witchy how to kinda vids!🤩💖
I’ll be sure to make a video on alternatives to smoke based blends. As for the candle holder. I’ve had it for a long time. It’s a candle stick holder which are relatively common however mine has quite a few years of use.
Avalon Cameron woot woot! I’ll stay tuned for tht! & I found a few like tht, but soo tinyyy! I liked the size of yours~I shall do more digging! OH & the tarot reader academy links in the description will not load? I’m interested in the weaving the witches web with tarot!
I couldn't find a physical shop nearby in my town that had these until I realized that they are used for burning tobacco in a hookah pipe. So I tried a local tobacco shop and found some.
Thank you for this compact and informative video. (I found your channel through Jessica Star the story witch). I recently tried burning myrrh resin (instead of normal incense) for the first time and I was astonished how quickly it burned. Is it normal that you have to put on new resin a few times during one cleansing or ritual or is there a trick to it to make it burn longer?
Yes it is. Typically you go through about 2 to 3 tablespoons of ingredients depending on the work you are doing. House cleansing and clearings are usually heavy on smoke and so we typically go through quite a bit of material.
I burned some herbs on a disk and then went to my bed and prayed and all of a sudden the smoke rushed up really fast and thick. I hope that's a sign from the gods.
I set off every fire alarm in my house for hours at night a few weeks ago because I thought since I couldn't SEE the smoke, there wasn't any. Wrongo. >.< I also got a carbon dioxide warning. Derp.
Oh dear! If you have latex gloves on hand, a dangerous but handy tip is to fit it to the fire alarm while burning your disk and incense. You have to keep an eye on it though
I beautiful intro to using charcoal disks. there is nothing quite like the smell of Frankincense resin burning. Just remember to take the smoke detectors down 😊❤
Indeed! The smoke detector was something I wanted to mention as I have hacks for it. But I’m the end I decided against it as I thought it might be problematic.
Yes! More like this please. Short, concise, informative, witchy!
Can do!

if i wanted to burn this in a small room do you think it would be fine if i cut the charcoal disc in half and only used half of it?

Yes! I sometimes start outside when lighting my disks, I sometimes start at my stove.
Great video. Thanks!
Thanks!

What kind of paper do u use when u burn petitions because i burned white paper and i had to put it out, it was too much
