seriously, the only 2 characters that are worth anything. if it was just these 2 that the story revolved around, this show would be 100x better
I owe Manny Jacinto an apology. I didn't know he had this kind of performance in him.
The man got skills
he's the show MVP for me, I've seen 1-6 and he is really embodying the character, someone at peace with his darkness and power, hidden but also wanting to reveal himself to the galaxy - as well as having the charisma and athleticism to pull it off. I feel like Jacinto has kind of envisioned the best version of this story and is acting it regardless.
The helmet and vambrace are made of cortosis. A metal introduced in the expanded SW universe. Causes lightsabers to temporarily short out. Cool seeing it live action

@@ericp1139 in one of the poorer Disney decisions so much of the expanded universe (books, video games) is no longer considered canon. Now they gotta start sneaking all the cool shit back into the prime lore.
@@jman7474 what I mean is, this series takes place 100 years before the rise of the Empire. Which means none of this cortosis was ever used in the Clone Wars. I’d imagine Disney better write in a good explanation for that.

I have issues with the series, but IMO this is the best light saber fights I've ever seen, by leaps and bounds. WOW.
I think it takes alot the positive attributes from all of the respective eras and combines them.

Then I saw the first Prequel. And it was... saber smash saber smash saber smash... run run ... saber smash, yell a bit, saber smash.
I kept thinking 'you have the f'in Force! Why aren't you wall-running and shit??'
THIS show has the kind of integrated combat I'd been missing.

Was reading that Manny Jacinto did the majority of those combat sequences and stunts.
35:13 I think when Qimir called Jeckie an "It" it was a callback to episode 4 when Jeckie said "what is that?" when he first appeared floating down but I totally agree that it shows his utter contempt of jedi.
For me combat felt like combining prequels with more practical combat. It is very entertaining, jumpy, quick, but not such lightsaber dancing as prequels and you can feel the raw power that each strike is meant to kill. And characters actually dodge and do practical stuff during combat. Honestly I love this combination.

You already gained my sub just by trying things before hating them ahead.. this positive attitude is necessary and after seeing it decide if it is good or not, a lot has been before no doubt, but also we've had really good things so i'm hoping to have great rewards at the end of this series too, keep rocking and stay safe....!

These episodes were sick! I think the show has been good and seems to be working in the episodic format well. Revelations and information are presented in each episode but more than enough is left to drive the overarching mystery of the whole season

People seem to forget that Yoda and Mace were very much aware of the Sith and the rule of two during Qui-Gon's funeral at the end of Phantom Menace.
It's more likely that Qimir is the founder of the pointless Knights of Ren, the most irrelevant order of knights in cinematic history.

@@ericp1139 The Rule of Two would not be found in any history books as it started in secret after the conclusion of the Sith-Jedi war. Somebody would have to have encountered Sith in the centuries between then and the Phantom Menace to know that they come in twos.
@@crescendyr8438 but most likely closer to Bane era, it was said that Sith weren't a thing for I think thousands or hundreds of years. And the show takes place roughly 100 years in the past, so at this point they wouldn't know. And we still have a huge gap to fill between Bane and High Republic era.
But, the council will most likely never found out. Vernestra and her team will most likely never put their foot on Coruscant, and Sol with his crew will not tell them.

Episode 4 I don't think the "I'm going to turn myself into the Jedi" moment works at all. There was nothing pointing to or building to that decision. Liked it overall though. And episode 5 just kicked ass.

Somewhat yeah, but I dunno. The perspective of getting her sister back, knowing that she won't be able to kill a Jedi without a weapon and thinking that her master will kill her otherwise could be pushing, you know.

Because they are one episode cut in half. This show has 5 episodes of story max being chopped up/stretched out.

Not a Jordan Peterson fan, but that thing Qimir says at the end while kneeling next to Osha. Try google it. All you will find is an interview with Jordan Peterson saying the same thing! And here I thought it was some quote from history. Weird AF! Anyways. I like the show and episode 5 was FLAMES!!! 🙂
