The instructional artwork Third Crop by Teresa Murak was part of the exhibition The Plastic Body: Sculpture from Poland 1960-1989 at Stavanger Art Museum 28 September 2024 - 26 January 2025. Teresa Murak is one of Poland’s foremost artists within Ecological Art. Through many decades she has worked with soil, river sludge and seeds in order to bring out the temporary nature of her sculptures. Third Crop is a dress made of gauze cloths, covered with sprouting cress seeds. It takes a week for the seeds to sprout, and their life cycle is about two weeks. After that the process needs to be repeated.
