Hey Guys,
In this video, I have shared my experience of exploring Loktak Lake.
Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in North East India and is famous for the phumdis (heterogeneous mass of vegetation, soil and organic matter at various stages of decomposition) floating over it. The lake is located at Moirang in Manipur state, India.[2] The etymology of Loktak is Lok = "stream" and tak = "the end". The largest of all the phumdis covers an area of 40 km2 (15 sq mi) and is situated on the southeastern shore of the lake. Located on this phumdi, Keibul Lamjao National Park is the only floating national park in the world. The park is the last natural refuge of the endangered Sangai (state animal), Rucervus eldii eldii or Manipur brown-antlered deer (Cervus eldi eldi), one of three subspecies of Eld's deer.

Phumdi is a floating biomass... Formed one layer over another....bdw..u could have explored more....u could have visited keibul lamjao national park which is at moirang, the only floating national park where sangai the deer found only in Manipur....on d way back u could have visited Indo Japan peace memorial at Nambol... Jasho bhai should have told u about it..Anyway I hope u visit again... Ready to guide u next time

Phumdi is a biomass which floats. The house's bamboo ends at the end of phumdi, the lake is way deeper. The layer of phumdi is thick that's why the house is well planted
Keibul Lamjao National Park is a part of Loktak Lake. It is the only floating national park in the world. And also Sangai (Cervus eldi eldi) , a type of deer which is found only in this national park 👍👍👍

I have been to Loktak lake quite a few times. I stayed in the Loktak Aquamarine Homestay in the middle of Loktak. It was an awesome experience for me.

I'm introvert though, and I feel good about it, the best thing about introverts is they talk less and hear more, they take good things and repel the bad ones. Introverts can be good in giving a long creative description with its minute details and some keep it very low key and can explain a long explanation short and sweet articulately.
They say in North East language is not a problem cause everybody speaks English but that's wrong, unlike any other places in the country, North East people also speak only in their own regional respective language if you visit to most remote areas. I generally like to visit offbeat remote places which are not touristicly popular.
Sometimes the talk of the river,lake or a stillness of water is more engaging than two people having a conversation.... motorboat is fast, but no one is in a hurry to reach anywhere when you're in a place like this... it's noisy and supress the beautiful formation of music in the water when you are rowing a boat.

I went to INA Museum on my way back from Loktak on 16th April, that means after 1 year from this video was shot. It was still closed. I requested the guards to allow me inside the premises to have a look of the complex outside as the museum was closed. The condition is pathetic. It seems there's no effort from either government or local authorities to preserve this important landmark.

It's phumdi. These phumdi formed after floating weeds decay and decomposed for long time and it became thick mass which floats and habitats of fish and different grasses. That old may is telling he is happy because you came there
