- Long time, no video! This time I head offshore to see what I can get into with no real plan in mind. Thankfully the fish had a plan of their own that involved eating big topwater poppers. This was a great time! Check out the gear I used below!
Daiwa Saltist MQ 8000
8' Extra Heavy Moderate Fast Custom Rod made by Derek Richards
50lb Suffix Braid
100lb Mono Leader
Yo-Zuri Mag Popper: amzn.to/3yPg9To
Fish Finder - Garmin Striker 4: amzn.to/3Axv31h
Crate - Yak Attack Blackpack Pro: amzn.to/46VSFbQ
Rod Holders: amzn.to/46YNw2P
Outstanding video, footage, editing and audio commentary.
Enjoyed every moment.
Keep up the great work.
Appreciate it man! 🤙🏼 I put in some work into these videos. More coming soon!
Great video. Keep them coming
Will do! Got a couple coming up! 👍🏼
Great video man. Out of the yak is darn impressive. Well done.
Thank ya! 😁 I appreciate it man!
Awesome man glad your back at it
Thanks! Never really stopped just had some bad luck lately. 🤷🏻♂️ oh well. Lol
glad to see ya back...great vid!
Thanks man! 😁
The Hobie Lynx rocks! I have a new one that I’ve been out on fishing lakes and just love it. I’m not too sure I could kayak fish offshore unless I was with someone but your Lynx is doing just fine. Great video and thanks for sharing….
High Noon
It’s the best yak I’ve been in for sure. Appreciate you watching! 🤙🏼😁
Great content and great job on the video production. The underwater cam on the release is a nice touch!
Thank ya! I try to add in as many underwater shots as possible. 🤙🏼
Thanks for the shoutout! Super glad to see that rod is doing good for you. Definitely seems to handle those AJs better 🤙
Absolutely! This rod is a unit. 🤙🏼 it’s a huge difference fighting the AJs now. I actually have a chance of getting the bigger ones in. 😂
Love how you can get the shots of the AJ's hitting the topwater because you're standing up. I won't stand up when I'm offshore like that, but man, you get some sweet shots for us doing that!
Awesome video bro, I need to get out there!
I honestly wish I can stand up more. I prefer standing when fishing but most of the time I need to be seated while offshore. But throwing poppers is the exception. 🤙🏼 thanks for watching!
Thanks man! It’s kinda slow out there right now but there’s still some good fish lingering around. 👍🏼
Awesome! That hurts to see you lose $18 lures though :(
Yeah it’s never fun. But that’s AJ fishing. Last year I lost about $100 in poppers in a single morning. 😬
Another good video 🤙
Appreciate ya! Thanks! 🤙🏼
Fab video. Thank you!
👍👍👍that’s a solid fishing video
Congrats
Thank ya! 😁
Bro this is SICK! I need to get out there and do this!
Yes you do! AJs from a yak are a blast! 🤙🏼 they’re kinda hard to find this year though. I got lucky.
3 AJs on kayak is insane bro!
I try. 🤷🏻♂️😅. I’m kinda glad I only caught three because I was literally sore the next day from fighting them. Lol
Nice!
Nice tips for no flips ha ha
Right. Lol that’s kinda an important part. 😂
Awesome fish dude . . . I need a bigger fishing pole before I try those bruisers! Thanks for sharing - were you out there alone (65 ft)?
Thank man! And yes I was. There was another kayaker out there but he was fishing a different set of reefs.
Were they hanging out above the structure?
Yep! They like reefs or any kind of structure that’s tall. This reef was 16 feet tall in 65 feet of water while others are usually 8ish feet. They prefer the taller ones.
Awesome video! Enjoyed every minute of it. New sub from my channel to yours. Will be looking forward to more
Thanks man! I appreciate that. I put a lot of work into these videos. 😁
Im wondering if I have the strength to fight these beasts
Oh you’ll be good! Give it a shot if we ever run into them. 👍🏼

Yeah
I just might have to go with a bit less drag pressure.
I may lose more though to the reef
