FOD MTB - My worst CRASH where I cracked a rib!
We headed back to FOD (Forest of Dean) to meet a couple of guys from our Facebook group MTB Fanatics. The plan was to ride some of the other downhill trails I hadn't ridden before and local guy Darcy was going to show us some of the lesser known trails. After a warm up on the blue descent (Dragons Tail) we rode some off piste and GBU before heading out to another area with a selection of some cool trails. It was right towards the end of the day and BANG, the ground just crumbled under my front wheel and yanked the bars clean away from me and I was on the ground before I knew it. I landed full force on my ribs and immediately felt pain when breathing in. I managed to ride down the rest of the trail but decided to call it a day.
Later that evening as the pain was getting worse it was confirmed by the doctors that I had cracked a rib.
Gutted but hopefully it won't be too long before I'll be back on the bike and back to FOD to finish off this session!
