So based on Micah’s thoughts on Walker not being ‘set’ for Calafiori’s goal. Should Liverpool’s ‘corner taken quickly’ goal against not have counted because Barcelona were not ‘set’? Barcelona were in position, but not set. Walker was in position, but not set. It’s not like the referee said play on immediately, Walker had time. And Martinelli was so wide in his position anyway because he was prepared that Walker would have needed additional time to mark him in the first place.

I literally watch this show just to see how they talk about Chelsea still talking about everything but our performance on the pitch and still spewing these dumb narratives the hate is crazy
A lot has been made in recent years of the wave of Pep-style play. i.e. "playing out from the back" and extending the length of the pitch. That philosophy cost 6 or 7 goals this weekend when keepers and defenders gave the ball away sloppily inside 25 yards of the goal. How do fans forgive that kind of play? It's incredible. I understand there's an element of practice to improve but even Chelsea couldn't play out against West Ham for love nor money. It's so frustrating to watch players who aren't natural "ball-players" try and dispense the ball up the pitch. I won't say the league is crying out for more long ball style but certain teams need to understand the pressure in a given scenario and use the release valve.
Why does that HAVE to be 'something going on' for Rashford to be ROTATED?? Is there 'something going on' at City when the same happens with Foden, or Bernardo, Or Grealish, or Doku, or whoever else? We've actually got 3 legitimate options for the wings right now, and a combination of all 3 have started games so far, it's THAT simple
Its actually pathetic at this point. Though Shearer still feels bitter about Ten Hag speaking back at him after the cup final so has to try to create something. He has no insight whatsoever but is using his unfathomable influence to keep pushing a weird agenda. Its quite, quite petty.
Arsenal's game plan was to remove Rodri. Once that happened Arsenal started playing. Before that, it was looking spooky. They defended well, but you put yourself at risk if you think you're gonna keep City out for 50 minutes in their ground. City were not very good in that second half, Pep should have left the wingers on. But well played from Arsenal.
Man City in the 2nd half did nothing offensively, De Broyne and Rodri were such a big miss for them, but on the other hand, Arsenal did fantastic defensively.
Another week, another episode where you spend a huge amount of time discussing Man City and almost completely ignore Southampton, Ipswich, Leicester, and Everton. There is alot to talk about with all those clubs. Well worthy of five minutes between them!
The way you guys speak about Chelsea is very funny. You are very funny. You will continue eating humble pie. We have 27 players in our first team and not this 40 you guys bang on about.
By far the worst half of Pep I’ve ever seen. City looked completely void of ideas. Dont know if their heads were gone cause of Rodri but that second half, arteta had his number. Only reason they scored was because Grealish went rogue and managed to produce something. Before Rodri’s injury, city looked like they were going to walk all over Arsenal. Then they dropped their heads and let Arsenal back into the game. Pity about the red cause the 2nd half would have been really good otherwise.
Are you guys serious?? It's clear there is no fallout with Rashford. It is healthy rotation and competition between him and Garnacho! Yes Rashford scored 3 goals in previous 2 games but Garnacho also had 3 goals and 2 assists!!! You guys are blinded by stuff like this when it comes to English players.
completely missed out that dean henderson had a wordlie of a game and made a load of incredible saves, the legecy media just doesnt give the same level of football insight as the youtube generation, sadly the rest of football review isnt as good as the likes of this is football or the football fill in etc
Think what’s more controversial about the Arsenal goal is that it was taken 10m further up the pitch. The ref should have pulled it back to take it where the foul happened. 10m is a big difference compared to a couple feet
Completely honest. You guys have so much influence on the game is untrue. These refs are getting out of order every week. No consistency, no repercussions. Doku nothing Trossard ding ding
Forest are criminally underrated. They've had a great start, but it's like Liverpool slipped up badly by losing to them. Why? They played well and deserved to win that game and have been playing well all season.
The question no one is asking is did the ref give Trossard the second yellow for the barging challenge rather than for kicking the ball away? Trossard steams in knocking the player to the floor and the ref blows for a free kick then Trossard hoofs the ball away. I'm inclined to think he had already decided to give him a second yellow for the foul
It's been confirmed that the yellow card was for kicking the ball away. The referee had gestured for a free kick for the foul but was not reaching to get a card out.
Listening to all these pundits saying City players did not attempt to undrlap in the second half but just passing the ball around makes me think if they actually understand the game at all. One thing Man City players are very great at is that underlap runs. But, there was no space to do that against Arsenal - no space to run into at all.
I'm a bit confused about this Trossard kicking the ball away. The whistle went a fraction of a second.beforr he kicked it. Surely this has got to be a strong mitigation in Trossard's favour. It seems very unfair to expect Trossard to change his intention to clear or pass in maybe half a second.
It turns out that Arsenal's defense ain't that good if Arteta tells them to push up and press their opponent. That is exactly what happened for that first goal and that got utterly exposed. You can kind of understand why Arteta did it after getting utterly lambasted and ripped apart by pretty much everyone in the media last season for not having a go at The Etihad. Well, he had a go this time, got the lead but unfortunately for him and Arsenal their discipline really cost them. I guess that's progress, but my word do Arsenal under Arteta do progress in piecemeal amounts. Some times it feels like 2 steps forward and 1 step back with them.
Is there no consideration that he kicked the ball less than a second after the ref blew the whistle, and he didn’t just boot it into the stands, it was a pass to martinelli
The red card ruined a great game but it was interesting to watch arsenal defensively in the second half, Man City didn't know what to do. I don't think they has ever been a top Premier League this good defensively most top teams don't need to be as solid defensively as their generally create more chances Even outside the Premier League you would have to go back to AC Milan in the 90s for a team this dominant defensively.
Think Arsenal fans and players need to take a step back and ask why it keeps happening to them. The timewasting, kicking the ball away, faking Injuries are quite clearly tactics deployed by the coaching staff. Can't then blame the referee and be shocked when you're punished for it.
How about all the other teams in the league get punished for kicking the ball away as well then? Szoboszial did the same thing last week and Oliver didn’t give him a second yellow card - every other team in Arsenal’s scenario yesterday would have the done the exact same thing
@@georgeyboy5256 I’m sure that dropping points at home to Spurs and West Ham, alongside taking 1/12 from Fulham and Villa cost Arsenal more last season than getting a point at the Etihad for the first time in 8 years - even Real Madrid would struggle to defend a 1 goal lead there for an entire half and even played the same way in the the CL last season - not every team will play like Liverpool and they need to accept that

@georgeyboy5256 did doku get booked for the same thing? Did szoboszlai get booked for the same thing? Did pedro for Brighton for the same thing? No but rice and trossard get sent off, arsenal just want consistency
I'd take Oliver every day of the week over Anthony Taylor.
Have you forgotten the Wolves game just last year where Taylor did so badly he was banished down to 2nd tier for a period of time?
@Ben-lf3ul Doku didn't boot it away, watch the replay, Michael Oliver points to the spot and Doku passes it there, completely different.
Shearer is right. I am an extremely proud Gooner today. We had 10 men and faced 12! Califiori welcomed himself to the Premier League! Some player! Also LOVED how the squad defended for most of the game after a shaky start. Raya was astounding. Some signing. Cheers lads.
The dolphin sound effect sent me 😂😂
Again, the audio production needs to improve. Lineker often speaks softly, while Richards shouts.
Love it guys cheers. What a goal that was at that time by Ricardo. There’s nothing better ❤ shame we couldn’t get all 3 points.
Cowardly analysis as expected. Only big meeks with some worthy comments. How City come out of that game with any credit is beyond me.
@@Runiville007 that's all they do, all season long, praise their god, Pep and his team who burst into fighting mode the minutes they sense losing! They're not champions, they're bullies! @@danielhughes7359 absolutely yes. They deserve to be praised for doing what no team has managed to do in the Premier League since Pep took over, which not to loose against him in 4 games!

No matter what the outside world says, we have a Team we are proud of. COY!
Come on you !
Oliver destroyed the game. Was a great 1st half, and Arteta had out thought Guardiola. It could have been an all time PL great game but he stopped that. No way should he have sent him off- last year, at the Emirates he didnt send a City player off "because he didnt want to spoil the game" but this he couldn't wait to do so.
We need to look at the refs who go to the Middle East to officiate and get paid handsomely to do so.
"Couldn't wait to do so". Trossard gave the ref absolutely no choice, you can argue either the barge and the kicking the ball away as a yellow on their own but together it's absolutely a second yellow.
@@lawrencebaker1811 The whistle went as he was moving his leg to kick the ball. You try stopping then. Way too short a time to book him for it- 3 seconds later fine, 0.5 seconds? Nope. Ridiculous. The ref was selective and influenced the game by hiding behind a technicality- if every ref displayed zero tolerance every game would end up being 7 v 7. It's nonsense.
Out thought how exactly? They got dominated until Rodri went off injured. Entered city's half 3 times and scored twice. Out thought though...
Unbreakable friendship, unbreakable quality between These guys.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The ref literally pointed for Doku to kick the ball back. Yes he didn’t kick it back precisely but had he left it where it was it would have taken Arsenal about the same time to get it and then play it from the right position. Good judgment call there in my opinion. Which is exactly what Arsenal were asking for in the previous incident involving Rice. Which still should have been a yellow but one for the Brighton player too. Trossard was a deliberate boot up the field. Very different.
This Arsenal/ManCity game left me broken 💔 ... I watched the score on my phone and could not believe that last-minute goal.
Ouch!
Thanks for your lovely podcast, just watching this makes me feel better about the draw😊
Could've sworn Ipswich played against Saints as well wouldn't know it from this though
"they was" lets wipe up that dribble and learn how to speak properly
Why did you not even mention Southampton - Ipswich? Our teams do exist, you know. Shocking.

Free spending of russian oilmoney for a decade to build the foundation for todays Chelsea and a consistently sneaky exploitation of every imaginatice loophole are not really the way to endear yourselves to the rest of the league.
Balderdash from these haters of Arsenal FC. They fail to acknowledge Arsenal played ten while Manchester City played eleven players. After Manchester City didn't win the game.
Tbh, apart from the beast that is Haaland when he's afforded space, City don't look invincible. Vulnerable to counter-attacks and, surprisingly enough, faced with a nine-man low block, looked unimaginative and repetitive. Pep looked extremely concerned yesterday.
The official broke their hearts. That red card changed the result.
He did nothing wrong. Trossard 'broke their hearts' by being an idiot.
Liverpool got 4 early red cards last season over 3 games and got 6 points out of them (only lost last second with 9 men vs spurs). You can still win with 10 men.

Arsenal take a point away from arguably the most difficult ground in Europe, something which Man City failed to do in the reverse fixture last year yet somehow Man City are being praised for a draw against 10 men Arsenal.
Change the video title to “Man City narrowly escape embarrassing result at home against the 10 men mighty Arsenal”
If Rodri didnt go off would've been 5-0 lmao delusional arsenal fans
Because the City games are two of the most important games for Arsenal to have an actual chance to win the league. They need all 6 points. Otherwise, they're bottling it again for a third straight year.
@@AlienOmertaTV All if’s, buts and maybe’s. I’ve got one for you, if Kovacic rightly got sent off last year, Man City may have lost 5-0. Or how about if yesterday Haaland got red carded for his aggressive and violent play and Doku got booked for kicking the ball away or Trossard didn’t get booked because neither did Doku then Arsenal would have battered Man City 5-1. See what I’m doing, you can spin it however you want, but the fact is, Man City could not beat 10 men Arsenal at home. Let’s see what they do at the Emirates against 11 men Arsenal.

They really can't bear Chelsea doing well. It would be hilarious to see them win the league if only to clock Shearer's face`!!!
Gary needs to get himself some Lynx. Some serious pit area action by the end there..
It's not true that Timber didn't complete a pass. Somehow the stats are getting things wrong as well as the referee. It's all a bit fishy. It almost smells like an agenda.
The stats have now updated to show 1/7 accurate passes
Maybe if Arsenal hadn’t had to play with a day less rest after traveling midweek while City did not, they would have had less cramps after playing 55 minutes with 10 men.
So much has to go right for those corners! The movement! The desire! The strength!
....and none of tgat matters if it isnt for the illegal keeper blocking
Yes, it's easier to score goals when you are allowed to take the keeper out of the game. Who knew
Walker was back in his position he faced up to martinilli he got around him for the pass to califiory
You need to stop with the Chelsea has hundreds of players to choose from bollocks,we’ve got two players in most positions and a couple of fringe players like most good teams.
Lineker thinks is funny so won't drop it, and generally they love bashing Chelsea and hate them doing well
I literally watch this show just to see how they talk about Chelsea still talking about everything but our performance on the pitch and still spewing these dumb narratives the hate is crazy
Because they love making stories out of Rashford and Manchester United.
Its actually pathetic at this point. Though Shearer still feels bitter about Ten Hag speaking back at him after the cup final so has to try to create something. He has no insight whatsoever but is using his unfathomable influence to keep pushing a weird agenda. Its quite, quite petty.
Man C drew a home match lost 2 points , pundits losing it. 😅😅😅
Remove rodri? The guy got injured after a very light push from partey, wasn't even a foul so what are you on about?
Shhhhhhhhh you'll sound do much better..
lmao they removed Rodri by making him awkwardly plant his leg and get injured?
Rodri should try staying on his feet rather than looking to dive
Man City in the 2nd half did nothing offensively, De Broyne and Rodri were such a big miss for them, but on the other hand, Arsenal did fantastic defensively.
Yeah so good defensively parked every player in the box for the whole half and still couldn't keep them out and get the win
Was waiting for Micah's disco lights to come on
Haaland did enough to get three or four yellow cards. So many city players kicked the ball away or committed hard fouls but nothing.
😂
Gary having his headphones on the wrong way is triggering me in a way that it shouldn't..

Think what’s more controversial about the Arsenal goal is that it was taken 10m further up the pitch. The ref should have pulled it back to take it where the foul happened. 10m is a big difference compared to a couple feet

Forest are criminally underrated. They've had a great start, but it's like Liverpool slipped up badly by losing to them. Why? They played well and deserved to win that game and have been playing well all season.
And just remind me how many games they've lost this season? (Clue: it's fewer than Liverpool!)
Its difficult to sense the crowd at man city it felt quiet yesterday mayben its the acoustics
Back and forth when arsenal only had 5 shots 🤣
The time between the referee blowing the whistle and Trossard kicking the ball was 1.5 seconds! Absolutely ridiculous refereeing.
0.8 seconds according to Sky Sports' stop watch.
@@TC-mt1zxalmost as long as pan persie when he got sent off
Yup but you could literally tell he changed his kicking action when he heard it. Instead of a pass it became a big hoof to nowhere.
I can't focus on what Micah is saying with the Apple background pictures
But, there was no space to do that against Arsenal - no space to run into at all.
these guys are like sports top gear
I'm a bit confused about this Trossard kicking the ball away. The whistle went a fraction of a second.beforr he kicked it. Surely this has got to be a strong mitigation in Trossard's favour. It seems very unfair to expect Trossard to change his intention to clear or pass in maybe half a second.
He knows what he is doing, to suggest otherwise is extremely naive
Big Meeks starting off strong lying about the atmosphere in the Etihad !! 😂😂
I give 0 fucks got pass completion. Havertz and timber were fantastic.
I came here looking for comedy copper, but found comedy gold! Fantastic Havertz is an oxymoron.
Klopp's Liverpool would have gone for attack even with 9 men 😂
Oh good old days!!
Hope slot can bring the same excitement along with the wins.
Is there no consideration that he kicked the ball less than a second after the ref blew the whistle, and he didn’t just boot it into the stands, it was a pass to martinelli
The red card ruined a great game but it was interesting to watch arsenal defensively in the second half, Man City didn't know what to do.
I don't think they has ever been a top Premier League this good defensively most top teams don't need to be as solid defensively as their generally create more chances
Even outside the Premier League you would have to go back to AC Milan in the 90s for a team this dominant defensively.
How come other teams don't get yellow cards when they kick the ball away?
@dejivjf I'm not saying other teams don't do it but I'm saying it's a deliberate tactic for Arsenal and it's now costed them twice.
