    I like those headphones. When I get ready to buy some I am going to use your link. So the bees were feeding on sugar water in the cooler? Man I have some tractor envy right now. I got to get me a tractor. It did pretty good at diggin but you wasn't kidding about it being dry lol. They say those tree tubes work really great when you are planting new trees. I got to plant someone my prperty too and have looked at them. I don't have any experience with them though but they say they increase survial rate and jump start their growth.
    Man I have never seen a roadrunner before. That was awesome.

      Southern Food Junkie yeah I love those work tunes Bluetooth headphones. I got them on Amazon. Yeah I should have described the bee feeding better. I put 2:1 sugar water mix with some Bee Pro Health essential oils I get from Mann Lake bee supply. They go crazy over the stuff. I love the LS tractor. I’ve seen those tubes. I didn’t think of that. I’m also thinking of running an irrigation line to those fruit trees with one of those digital timers. Take care.

    Buck says he scored one! Nice work done on the compost pile. You sure have some massive clay! Thanks for sharing with us.

      Yeah, he got me. A cactus 🌵 has a hard time makin a livin in our dirt. What isn’t hard clay is sand and sand rock. About the only gripe I have about our place.

    Heck of a deal on that trailer...at least in these here parts! I feel you on the lack of rain, we had that all summer!! Nice to see I'm not the only one with crazy clay soil! Good tunes bro, love it. Have a great day:))

      A little dirt never hurt thanks man. Another project on the list without one marked off. Our soil sucks. Cactus would complain I’m sure. Take care n stay warm. Cold is supposed to hit here this week. Been in the 70s and dry as a popcorn fart. 💨 Sheesh!

      I'm really pleased with the LS. I made a small pond with it too. I'm surprised at how well it will dig. It pulls those 5 ripper teeth all the way down in mid range 2nd and 3rd gear. I need to do a review on it. Thanks for watching. Take care.

    • @JeromeBeeFarm
      @JeromeBeeFarm  7 років тому +1

      Yankees Outdoor Adventures yes and it sucks. What isn’t clay is sandy and some sand rock down deep. That’s why my pond won’t hold water. I put 600 lbs of bentonite in it. Seems to have slowed the seeping down some.

    • @YankeesOutdoorAdventures
      @YankeesOutdoorAdventures 7 років тому +2

      Jerome Bee Farm up here it is real Sandy! In fact if you dig a hole on a dry day you don't have enough dirt to fill it back up when you're done😲

    I got a G3038. I bought a grapple with mine. I run it pretty hard, do you happen to know where to get cylinder kits for the lift and tilt for the bucket? One of the hydraulic shops in Pasadena, TX want $250 a cylinder to re-seal. I know the kits can't be more than $40 a cylinder. I can do the rebuild but can't found the correct kit... Great video, keep'em coming...

    • @JeromeBeeFarm
      @JeromeBeeFarm  5 років тому

      I have no idea where to get parts. It’s probably common seals on there. One of my rear wheel brake shafts is leaking on the gear case. All my hydraulics are still sealed good. It’s a solid tractor. I dug a little pond with it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    NICE!!! Liking the compost pit Darren, ya gonna enclose it? On your orchard, is that a watering ring built into how ya planted them trees? I'd be interested to see how that goes!! Looks like you been getting after it brother!! Dan

    • @JeromeBeeFarm
      @JeromeBeeFarm  7 років тому

      I wasn’t planning on covering it. Are you supposed to? I was wanting to keep it so I could turn it with my tractor and not have to shovel on it. On my trees we Planted them in a depression so when we water it goes down to the roots because it gets so dry here and the soil doesn’t hold water. The trees are two years old now (since we planted them) and this fall I dug that large ring orotund them so they will get more water now. I about doubled the diameter. I’m thinking about putting some of that black irrigation line down there to them on one of those timers. Bad thing about that Is I would have to bury that line in that hard ass dirt.

    • @JeromeBeeFarm
      @JeromeBeeFarm  7 років тому

      Mrs. Mags I haven’t really decided how many or what kind. Probably 6-12. I know zippo about chickens. Any input is appreciated.

    • @MrsMags
      @MrsMags 7 років тому +1

      I have 13 hens for laying. I don't have them for meat production. We got our original seven over 2 years ago and I had them growing up. Here are the general 'rules' I've learned with having chickens. You get about 1 egg per day, except during winter, when they slow down production. They need around 16 hours of daylight to lay an egg. Some breeds lay better in the winter than others. Right now, I'm getting about 1-2 eggs/day without additional light. That should give you an idea of how many to get based on how many eggs your family will eat or if you want to sell them (I don't unless I have extra). Inside a coop, they need about 4 sq ft per bird and they need about 10 sq ft each of space outside the coop (I don't see you having an issue with that). And you need 1 nesting box per 2-4 birds - they're going to only use one or two anyways... That's at least something to get you started. I enjoy having chickens and they are really easy to care for.

    • @JeromeBeeFarm
      @JeromeBeeFarm  7 років тому +1

      Mrs. Mags thanks for the info. I think my coop design will have four or five boxes and is 10x12. We won’t be doing meat birds, strictly eggs only. What kind of hens do you have?

    • @MrsMags
      @MrsMags 7 років тому +1

      Jerome Bee Farm I've got several breeds to have colored eggs: Delaware (good winter layer), Rhode Island Red (good winter layer, can be aggressive), 2 Wyandottes (one gold, one silver), Buff Orpington, Easter Egger, Cuckoo Maran, 2 French Black Copper Marans, 2 Ameracaunas, 1 Olive Egger, 1 Favacauna. Their names are Lucie, Ruby, Jessie, Trinity, Astrid, Cleo, Ripley, Julia, Diana, Jyn, Jayla, Rey and Jane. We name that after bad ass women on TV/movies. 😀 Their egg colors are light tan, rose, tan, light tan, blue green, dark brown, darkest brown available (when they start to lay), blue, olive, green. Because they're almost all different, it's easier to tell them apart and know who is laying and who isn't. I paid a lot of money for Jane through a special order, but I don't think we'll do that again. She's beautiful, and it's been fun to have her, but I think we'll just go with the ones I can get in the store. I'm a little disappointed in her egg color, it was supposed to be mint green, but it more like a light green. I can't wait to see the FBCM eggs. I met the parents and their eggs are gorgeous and really dark! Interesting fact: chickens 'paint' the color on the shell just before laying the egg. If you see streaks, it rotated too fast and spots mean that it rotated too slow. The inside of the egg shells will be white. However, blue eggs are blue all the way through. The color is added at the beginning of the egg development. Sorry for the novel. I love my girls and they're quite spoiled. ❤🐔

      Yeah, it has 5 ripper teeth. I wish they were on a hydraulic adjuster. It's a pain getting down and pulling the pins and moving them up/down. I used that box blade to build a pond. That was before I was making videos. lol You can see the pond in my 'walk in the woods' video I believe. Thanks for watching. Take care.
