‏As the first waste to energy plant in the UAE and one of the first in the region, the Sharjah waste-to-energy facility, Emirates Waste to Energy Company’s flagship project, leverages best practices and advanced technologies to enable zero-waste ambitions. Scheduled for completion in 2021, the facility will introduce an alternative source of clean energy that will support the UAE’s economic diversification by processing 300,000 tonnes of waste and displacing 450,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually to generate 30MW and power 28,000 homes in the Emirate.
