Another great video! You had some fast paced action there!! Those were some beautiful fish! I hope to get on some stripers and hybrids this year! The year of big fish continues for you!!!!
There are good situations for both. I prefer to use Livebait because most of the time I don’t know where the fish are and I have to look for them. I use artificial when I know exactly where they are feeding.
Be careful on Boone. After schools let out in 2 weeks boat traffic will be a mad house. The big Drawdown seems to have helped the fishing in the long run. Stay Safe! 🎣🙏
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisherYou need to hook one of those big hybrids or stripers on a fly rod using a big streamer out from the swimming area. Any update on certification for the hybrid fly rod record? Awesome to watch that one! 🎣
@@billdye3530 Yeah, I was streamer fishing the other day when I hooked a striper out of Watauga River. It was hooked for about 30 seconds before getting away. Im 0-3 so far. Ill keep trying though. No news on the World Record yet.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisherI'm curious if the Cicada fly imitations are going to do well this year. That Sandy beach area at the dam is good early morning for carp on a fly rod. May have to cheat & use a little corn on a hook lol. Carp are poor man's bonefish on a fly rod.
I don't see where you talk about your gear used except for the hook size and planer boards. Could you tell us more? How do you bait the hook, and with what size shiner?
Really been enjoying your videos since I found your channel. Just curious if you would ever pull any lures on one of your rods just to see how they compare against live bait? Thanks for your content and looking forward to the next one.
You know how to take a proper fish picture buddy. Hold your arms out straight and as far away from your body as possible. I do the same thing. Lol. Nice video brother. 🐟🐟🐟
In the rivers I use red-fins. In the lake you can use white swimbaits. I like using keitech. ua-cam.com/video/D_75Vrwj0aM/v-deo.htmlsi=8ORa1acpQWgkRVPH
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher thanks for the quick response! I just watched that video and I appreciate the share. I’m a fellow kayak fisherman on Boone lake and I’ve only really found luck with live bait on the lake.
I’ve never particularly targeted striped bass, only caught them while LM bass fishing. Is the bite good during the summer and fall as well? Or just spring?
The bite is good year round. You can troll for them in the winter and spring. I like to target them in the rivers during the summer and the fall can be fun for Topwater in the afternoons. They just change their habits during the year. Still trying to figure it out myself.

It’s been a great year of fishing
Awesome work Michael!
Thanks
WOW.. Great video..
Thanks for sharing..
The Hybrid bite was good, early this morning.
Good
Awesome!! They are for sure a beautiful predatory fish! He absolutely took off
They are my favourite fish. Anything out of Boone Lake with stripes on it is typically amazing.
Dang, unbelievable. You've convinced me, I'll be heading out there with my boat Thanks. - Lou
Good luck
Another great video, they are a lot of good fish in that area.
Agreed. Boone lake is a blast.
@@MichaelKaal-TriFisher they are some hawgs in that area
Awesome stuff. I intend to try and chase some stripers in the fall from the hobie..
Excellent, that will be great
Great fish, looks like you’re gonna need a bigger net Michael hahaha
Agreed. I need a bigger net.
you should do artificial lure vs live bait

3 inch shiners through the nose
Michael, have you ever been to Warrior Path state park to fish? Do you know if that’s a good area to try?
Yes, it’s great for catfish, bass and bluegill.

Thanks for watching, I actually did that in Rogersville a few videos ago. Most of my bites came on live bait, but a few did hit the lure.
Are Stripers and Carp good to eat ?.
Striper are very good. Not sure about carp
Nice session Michael! There's some big guns in that lake! How fast do you troll your planer boards with the shiners?
Between.5-1 mph

Awesome. Awesome!! I love watching your videos. What type of rods and reels do you use?
I fish with a Okuma Cedros Cj65s 65s reel and an ugly stick tiger elite rod
