  • Cooked my bottom off on this bottom round. Placed in the sous vide for 24 hours at 140 degrees. Came out awesome. In love with the sous vide. Much love to all and glad you stopped by to support.

OMG, if you're doing a 24 hour cook, or even a 12 hour cook, no higher than 132 degrees F. Otherwise you're going to end up with what you ended up with, which is "well done." I have a bottom round in my souse vide right now, at 132 degrees for six hours. Then I'll either sear it on my gas grill or in my oven at 500 degrees for like ten minutes.

That water actually lengthens searing process. Pat dry with a towel and it will be a breeze! No water needed. Otherwise nice job!

Before you sear your meat, toss the bag in the fridge for a half hour. When you sear your inside and outside will be perfect. The 30mins will stabilize the temp and prevent overlooking. Keep up the good work.

Bless you for searing that fatcap.. babe, that's the best part! 😍😍 Look juicy and seasoned well.. whether the hueyblush of a maids cheek, or the I-cooked-the-Salmonella-outta-it-you're-welcome juicy, it's happiness either way. I'd be dancing! Do you think this might work in a steamer, put in a ziplock on low? Love ya, thanks Shane in advance. 😊👍👍👏

ngatiramona I have no idea if you ziplock then steam. I do know that the sous vide I got on Amazon was only 65.00 bucks. It really opens up your cooking style. I’m just learning how but having fun. This steak came out great and it’s so easy. I just started a 48 hour cook for two pork butts. Can’t wait
