This is such an epic cover! Lost for words. A true piece of genius. Will keep coming back to hear this version. An authentic cover, if you can call it that. Touche! Brilliant piece!
The chain by Fleetwood Mac has been my favorite song since i was 5 years old- and FINALLY a good metal cover, been waiting a long time! Great job guys!!😁
WOW ,, I was on I-5 In Portland Or just now when I heard this. I am old enough to have seen FM do this in the 70's and 80's and loved it then ,, but this was OUTSTANDING!
Listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies And if, you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) Listen to the wind blow, down comes the night Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies Break the silence, damn the dark, damn the light And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) And if you don't love me now You will never love me again I can still hear you saying You would never break the chain (Never break the chain) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow) Chain keep us together (running in the shadow)
I actually loved this song (and this cover even more) long before the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, but the trailer has made me remember just how good it is and am relistening.
A heavy metal band from Vegas covering a song written by my favorite artist. Wouldn't even dream of hearing something like that, especially not today. You've made my day!
It's like when Sounds of Silence was sung by Disturbed! I was a teenager when the original came out and I liked the words but not especially the song. When Disturbed sang SOS I was over the moon!
Tatianna Osborne they’re playing tonight at the Nerd Bar. True it sucked that Mikey and Andrew left, although Andrew is now playing with Adelita’s Way, Chris is still the frontman and still kills it!
And now suddenly the tour pairing makes sense (My son is in Little Rock for the show tonight, 3.5 drive each way ... yep, I did SOMETHING right as a parent apparently :D )
CHILLS!!! I was looking for covers of this due to a comment on another cover claiming to be "the best" one, and after watching 30 or so, this one is the BEST by FAR!!!
First time hearing this and it’s 4:35am Monday morning in Georgia. I’m headed back to Chattanooga Tn this morning. This is now on my UA-cam playlist. I’ll prob listen to it at least 20 times on my trip. Love it! The chain with grunge, what more can you ask for??
I tend to agree with the people with the bass buildup, but other than that, this song was so well done. You guys should be proud of yourselves. I definitely wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was but the vocals and everything else was incredible. Everything was really tight and what I said about the arrangement of the bass has nothing to do with the performance of the bass player. He's phenomenal...very solid. Thank you for sharing. I wish there was a button that was more than a like button.
Better than the original ! Just saw them do it live in Mesa, AZ at The Vine last night !! Huge energy from this band -- tight too. I'm now an instant fan !
I’ll say this, this band’s rendition is one of the best covers of FM’s The Chain, I’ve come across, but so true about the drop on the intro! Ya know, Ive heard some very talented vocalists, with exquisite voice range no less, who’ve tried to measure up to Nicks rough and raspy rendition.... and no matter how hard they try....Its never gonna happen! She, along with Buckingham who wrote it, are the only ones who can perform this song it feels like. This song has this beautiful and eerie quality to it, one of the best songs ever written imo. The takeaway here tho, Is by all means have at it, but there’s no version like the original:)
Ktm Alpha Typical guitarists in my opinion... Can't shut up long enough to let the bass have a go. As a bass player I get sick of guitarists narcissistic bollocks
I just realized looking for The Chain covers that I seen this band in Des Moines, Iowa at Vaudeville Mews with Sons of Texas who I was there to see. There was an upstairs loft and the singer/guitar player for Taking Dawn ran upstairs and was like climbed up over the rail and was straddling the railing hanging over the crowd below. Me and another guy grabbed him so his crazy ass wouldn't fall. It was about a 15-20 foot drop. Plus he plays a badass Les Paul so we definitely didn't want that getting wrecked. There wasn't a whole lot of people, maybe 150, but they definitely gave you your money's worth. Small stage, but great show.
I found this song by chance when I bought an old ipod that was filled with music. I had it on shuffle in my car and this came on and was blown away! They also do an amazing cover of Black Diamond by Kiss!
The chain is one of my first rock songs. Then I switched to metal, but I still love this song, and your cover is something incredible... You're awesome! Thank you! (i use translator, so sorry for the mistakes)
I never understood why this band never flew the way it should have.i mean they have everything needed to be a successful band and still couldn't make it big.
When I first heard them play this when opening for the murderdolls in pomona I was blown away at how great they sounded and true to Fleetwood Mac the way it was on the album. or cds these days.
I love Fleetwood Mac and I've always thought "I wonder if there's a Metal cover of this somewhere like with Turn The Page" AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.
I just saw these guys two days ago. Chris came into the crowd and then one armed hugged me for about 5 mins. They were so good and they know how to make a crowd go crazy.
love metal covers of non metal songs. Had to wade through too many of the exact copies of the song before getting to this one. Wonder if there is a punk version.
This is the best cover of any song I've ever heard, I saw you guys do this at The Sheffield Arena when you supported KISS, awesome!!!!! My band are rehearsing this song at the moment and we are using this video as our reference not the Fleetwood Mac version, this is way better and we like the Fleetwood Mac version and Three Days Grace do a version that is'nt bad either but still not as good as you guys. Cheers Guys!!! El.
@jepaliko I totally agree about the bass line. For some reason every rock band that covers this heavys it up, but then subdues the one thing that made this song as famous as it was, that awesome bass line that leads up to the ripping guitar solo. Its kinda like covering a song like Sweet child o mine, and then burying the guitar intro.
I heard this on radio in a car and its one of those tunes that everyone in tha car shuts the f*** up and start kickin and head bangin to...fakin ROCKIN song maaaan
Dear god, what a group, what a sound, what a vibe!!!!!!
literally Best fucking song ever. gives me chills when I hear it even three years later. God why aren't bands like these more famous!!?
Because they suck.

I had always hoped that someone would do a heavy cover of, "The Chain." Thank you, Taking Dawn!
have you heard the tantric version? its pretty sick too
As a matter of fact, I have and I agree it's pretty good as well!
Three Days Grace did a cover of this song as well. I think it sounds decent!
Tarekkr I'll do that, thank you.
i dig three days grace's version a lot too
These guys Killed it!
The exact cover i was looking for
www.youtube.com/@Taking_Dawn_Archives
You guys KILLED this. I share with everyone. I love it immensely. Way to go!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Where is this group now??? Holy SHIT!! Fantastic rendition of "The Chain" and this dude has a phenomenal voice!
They're still around, but they've been pretty quiet for the last 6 months or so.
www.youtube.com/@Taking_Dawn_Archives
Awesome remake. Great voices. Can't stop listening to these guys.
This is such an epic cover! Lost for words. A true piece of genius. Will keep coming back to hear this version. An authentic cover, if you can call it that. Touche! Brilliant piece!
One of the BEST cover of this song I've ever listened to. Love love love this
I was in my teens when FM did this and I have to admit I'm super impressed with this version...
The chain by Fleetwood Mac has been my favorite song since i was 5 years old- and FINALLY a good metal cover, been waiting a long time! Great job guys!!😁
LOVE this. Nailed the vocals, and the hair!!!
Why am I just hearing this cover for the first time in 2019??? Awesome job guys!!
2022 here
Here in 2023
2024 for me!
Best. Cover. Ever.
Everything sounds better with heavy metal!
no.
@@hanscastorp2340 Yes
I agree with every aspect EXCEPT not having the bass build up.
Oh BIG MISTAKE losing that bass buildup before the change... That is CLASSIC... But good over all.
MetalJesusRocks found you in the wild! Cool! Love your channel 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
It's still there just really quiet.
That was the only reason I was here, and they completely neutered the bass. Such a missed opportunity.
Missing the bass solo was a big mistake to a perfect remake.
Yeah, that's the only part I was disappointed with here too. The solo could've used a little more elaboration and extension too.
WOW ,, I was on I-5 In Portland Or just now when I heard this. I am old enough to have seen FM do this in the 70's and 80's and loved it then ,, but this was OUTSTANDING!
Awesome, performance, vocal were out of this world, good job guys
Listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise
Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies
And if, you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)
And if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)
Listen to the wind blow, down comes the night
Running in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies
Break the silence, damn the dark, damn the light
And if you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)
And if you don't love me now

Im usually very 'iffy' about Fleetwood Mac covers, but this is actually really well done, Lindsey, Stevie, Mick, Chris and John would be proud

A heavy metal band from Vegas covering a song written by my favorite artist. Wouldn't even dream of hearing something like that, especially not today. You've made my day!
Same thing!
It's like when Sounds of Silence was sung by Disturbed! I was a teenager when the original came out and I liked the words but not especially the song. When Disturbed sang SOS I was over the moon!
I so love this cover.
This was an incredible job of transposing an absolutely iconic song into a different genre! BRAAAVVVO guys!!!!
So sad they broke up, they were the first ever band I saw live and I fell in love with them and plus I LOVE there hair
Tatianna Osborne they are back now, they have official change their name back to taking dawn on facebook
They are going to be touring with Adelitas Way in March/April
Tatianna Osborne they’re playing tonight at the Nerd Bar. True it sucked that Mikey and Andrew left, although Andrew is now playing with Adelita’s Way, Chris is still the frontman and still kills it!
And now suddenly the tour pairing makes sense
(My son is in Little Rock for the show tonight, 3.5 drive each way ... yep, I did SOMETHING right as a parent apparently :D )
JonsThreeCents I feel the same way when my kids sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody...complete with head banging and devil horns lol🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
As far as cover versions go of this song , i think you can't go better than with these guys... !
Fleetwood was great "and I'm a fan" but these guys perfected this song! In my opinion.
CHILLS!!! I was looking for covers of this due to a comment on another cover claiming to be "the best" one, and after watching 30 or so, this one is the BEST by FAR!!!
This is now my favorite cover of this song. Great job, guys.
how is this not on the radio?
This is still the one band with so much potential that needs a second shot. New songs are still great

I'm a purest when it comes to classic rock and 9 times out of 10 hate covers but this is amazing
Very good cover, can't get enough of Fleetwood Mac!!! Hi from France :)
I tend to agree with the people with the bass buildup, but other than that, this song was so well done. You guys should be proud of yourselves. Thanks dude!
Its as if Steve Earle, 2000s rock and nu metal had a baby while doing classic rock, this is the lovechild. And its amazing.
Well, only took 4 years to randomly HEAR this. Most Excellent job You need some promoters lol!
6 years for me, and I work for their label and Fleetwood Mac's. D'oh
8..
*cough* 10 years
Bad ass man!!! Can’t believe these guys aren’t headline stadiums!!!!
I’ll say this, this band’s rendition is one of the best covers of FM’s The Chain, I’ve come across, but so true about the drop on the intro!

The drummer though! 🙌🏻
BLOWN AWAY!!!! Gonna make this my ringtone on my Galaxy!!!!!
Great cover but you should keep the bass solo!
Agreed, why take out that epic buildup?
Agreed 200%. And to be honest drummer in the end spoiled it as well. He just made noise. But good effort.
Ktm Alpha Typical guitarists in my opinion... Can't shut up long enough to let the bass have a go. As a bass player I get sick of guitarists narcissistic bollocks
Man i was thinking the same thing. You can barely hear it
The absence of the bass solo completely ruined this cover for me. A shame 😔
What a great Cover love this
Normally I don't like covers but these boys did a great job here. :)
Best cover of this song i have heard!!!!
This cover song is better then the original. Love it!!
My favorite Fleetwood Mac song… and it was done very well. Thank you
I just realized looking for The Chain covers that I seen this band in Des Moines, Iowa at Vaudeville Mews with Sons of Texas who I was there to see. So much better than every other cover of this i've heard. The vocal harmonies are amazing!
I found this song by chance when I bought an old ipod that was filled with music. I had it on shuffle in my car and this came on and was blown away! They also do an amazing cover of Black Diamond by Kiss!
So beautiful!!!
Damned sweet--they took utter genius and did something different, yet almost as good as the original..! Well done boys!
I love your rendition of The Chain! 😎
Damn these guys should be huge! Awesome, thank you!
When I first heard them play this when opening for the murderdolls in pomona I was blown away at how great they sounded and true to Fleetwood Mac the way it was on the album. or cds these days.
ya i remember that show dude jumps off the stage playing lead guitar falls on his back and keeps going
ya thats dedication. saw bolt thrower and mushroomhead there too lately. great ticket prices as well as up and close if you choose.
This is the best cover of this song I've ever heard. It is top notch!
I gotta admit, I love it.
This is the best version of it, but the band broke up around 2012.
that was actually...very good!!!!!!! wow I'm blown
For everyone asking about the bass listen to it around 2 mins 50 seconds in.
Wow!!! Awesome dudes!!! Love this version of the song!!! ❤️✌️🤘💜
Beautifulcover. Hey from Belfast Ireland.
I love Fleetwood Mac and I've always thought "I wonder if there's a Metal cover of this somewhere like with Turn The Page" AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED.
Amazing job guys. My favorite cover. You killed it!! 🤘🤘
listening to this makes me remember why do I love metal so much, damn
I just saw these guys two days ago. Chris came into the crowd and then one armed hugged me for about 5 mins. They were so good and they know how to make a crowd go crazy.
love metal covers of non metal songs. Had to wade through too many of the exact copies of the song before getting to this one. Wonder if there is a punk version.
These guys nailed it. awesome.
I have only one word to describe this cover and that is
*YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSS*
So this is what Keanu Reeves has been doing in his spare time.
Yep, and he recruited Alex Winter to be the bassist. I guess they missed each other from Bill and Ted.
+Alice Perritt
Pretty Sure George Carlin is on drums.
Robert Preston hahahah damn, before ur comment haven't looked at his face xD
😂🤣
man this song belongs to three days grace NOOBS
This is the best cover of any song I've ever heard, I saw you guys do this at The Sheffield Arena when you supported KISS, awesome!!!!!
My band are rehearsing this song at the moment and we are using this video as our reference not the Fleetwood Mac version, this is way better and we like the Fleetwood Mac version and Three Days Grace do a version that is'nt bad either but still not as good as you guys.

El.
These guys are awesome! I hope they become famous!
Wowwww!! I ove this cover.. Superbb!
Such a great song and band love it!
Phenomenal cover. Stupendous energy.
this is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song and these guys rocked it perfect! awesome fucking job!
Great cover..found this by accident. Definitely going to check out what else they can do.
lead singer is gorgeous!
*Showing my Support with my **_Hairy Blue Thumb of Encouragement_** ⭐😃👍*
Impressive! Found a new band to love! YAY!!
Lovely cover and the bass line that is so essentiel is there.
can you please tell me at what point do you hear the bass part?
My ex G/F was older then me she loved fleetwood . Happy I stumbled upon this!
Very nice guys. I am glad someone posted a link to this.
So good
This cover was HUGE in the PNW 5 years ago . Since then I've seen Fleetwood Mac again and this still beats it .
Killer cover!!! the drummer in this video reminds me of The Rev..
Good voice and good tune, a good cover is when it adds to a song.
saw them live in Dallas 2018,,,,,,wow
can't believe it's been 12 years since I saw them live in Seattle
I really like this cover !!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Oh God, this is the cover I was looking for
Dude on drums rocks!
Yeah, great cover but I was waiting for the famous baseline. If you're going to do a cover like the original song you gotta keep the bass.
It is in there it's just really quiet.
It’s better in the live version of the song, the bass build is there without the lead or rhythm over it
Why am I just now hearing this??
I saw them in sheffield they were on before the Rock legends KISS, Taking dawn nearly upstaged them. awesome song
i dont know why this band isnt more popular.
well bill and ted finally made it 👏
You're an idiot
I heard this on radio in a car and its one of those tunes that everyone in tha car shuts the f*** up and start kickin and head bangin to...fakin ROCKIN song maaaan
