dude i was literally installing it when you mentioned about registering the standalone first. I only installed the AU version and now i have to install it again lol. Thanks man. Good timing.
I would say that this is an interesting synthesizer for layering - with its help, you can structure various analog sound additions, afterthoughts. This will enliven the composition, give it weight and meaning. A good helper! But it's not for commercial electronic music.
Downloaded and installed with no issues at all this morning. Make sure you install the standalone as well as the VST. If you're in your DAW it will now notify you that you need to run the standalone to enter your serial. As a noob/dabbler I like the relative simplicity of this plugin.
Lucky you getting the license code. I must have been a couple of hours behind you because I was able to download the synth, but the license generator was down so I can't use it.
It was never an official release. Where did you hear about it when announced? I guarantee not Behringer. No hate also. It feels that way to any Behringer apologist. I said it was a decent synth and there were things I liked about it. Your undying loyalty is very transparent.
@@Tiger.Arcade 1 - Many years ago they "leaked" a list of the synths they were cloning at Behringer site. Then, they eliminated the page and denied any cloning list. Guess what? The list was true. Great video! I haven’t had a chance to download it yet, but it looks pretty nice and sounds good! I like the design pretty well - I like that they didn’t make this a clear visual clone of a classic, but rather brought in some of their own design language. The LED reminds me a bit of a DeepMind, which is cool. Most DAWs have a pretty great virtual analog synth built in, and I’m not sure what this offers beyond that, really - but it seems like they’ve done a nice job of it. 😁
The real problem was not being able to register it and get the code. I downloaded it just fine. I have serum, pigments, great stuff from cherry audio, etc. This one sounds pretty half-baked. CA's Elka clone is amazing and cheap.
It's too buggy for me right now. For example, if a note is playing, I can't turn the knobs - not the best for a synth plugin! I think it needs a bit more time in the oven as it's not fully baked, and it probably could use some more presets that really show it off. It doesn't matter that it's free - this is bad for their reputation.
Meh. If you need a Prophet and don't have one, it's fine. But this sounded thin in demos compared to the U-he Repro. Go buy that or Arturia's version if you want the real thing.
@@Tiger.Arcade Yeah, it’s great no doubt. (I have other Arturia synths). I opted for U-he Repro after watching Dan Worrall spin my head around with their version. 😂 Can’t go wrong with either.
Surge has an interface problem. The layout feels like it was inspired by my 8 year old's bedroom. Definitely not for beginners or the faint of heart. That said, it's probably the best sounding soft synth out there that isn't just an emulation of some classic synth. Personally, I just forego the vst altogether and put it all together in vcv rack because the modules are so much easier to work with. It's amazing how intuitive and organized the vcv modules turned out considering how messy the actual synth is. But you can't complain too much considering the sound and sheer variety you get for free.
@@kyleh1127 Idk, tbh. Maybe I'm just too used to freeware, but I find that although SurgeXT looks visually noisy, it is also extremely efficient and straightforward to patch. I'm sure XT 2.0 will completely blow what we currently have out of the water, but for what it is right now, I view the UI as being extremely utilitarian, albeit not necessarily pleasing. Everything is placed logically enough to make workflows natural: want to touch on the filtering? It's one of the first things you see, and the envelopes are right below. Want to touch on the volumes? You have your faders and your shaping right beside each other, ending with the amp envelope. Most of the parameters for oscillators are immediately available and exposed on the oscillator panel, etc. Basically, despite its unappealing looks, I think Surge makes for a far better workflow than you give it credit, although it is not without its quirks for sure. Oh and let's not mention how great the fx section is. Probably the most intuitive signal flow possible, with maybe the exception that scene B's effects chain is exposed even when it is irrelevant to a patch.

....aaaaaand after a few minutes on it I've deleted it.

I waited all day and finally got an email. Yeah I have no explanation.
Don't blame Behringer. People simply swamped their servers.
It's not a "leak". I have it and so do a lot of people.

Cherry Audio was swamped when the released Sines and their servers didn't crash....maybe Behringer should take a page out of their book.
@@urbannpa cherry audio is a dedicated platform. Behringer has a lot more going on
This idiotic comment by jumping man aged like sour milk 🤣

I got the wireless AIAIAI and I like them.
I was close to getting those! Heard it has really low latency.

Agreed. Credit is due where credit is deserved. It’s really not bad and it’s free.
Thanks for the support dude.
Just a clear, visual, clone of Tone2's Saurus haha
@@russellnashsynth Wasn’t familiar with that one, but yeah, it does look similar!
Link sill not working. Can anybody put the program on a drive ?
You’d still need a registration code to access
@@Tiger.Arcade And even that didn't work.
Why do they give you the option of not installing the standalone app, if you need to register via the standalone app to hear the plugin??? Annoying.
Yeah, the whole setup process was not super clear

Id move along and just use the 1001 free VSTs that are out there already…

Clearly, this guy gets it!!!

Yeah looks like they scrubbed the whole thing. Access to it anyways.

Talks for nearly 9 mins, plays for 5 - gives final thoughts. XD
*Doesn’t know how to use chapters. Counts time instead. XD
It's an exact copy of Ableton's Analog but buggy and sounding crap.
So they unsuccessfully cloned a free VST giveaway....SHOCKED...lol
LOL
I downloaded it 4/26/24 got a license but it wouldn't work. Glad I didn't donate....almost put my credit card info in their system.
You can get another license free. My first one failed. Went back, got a new one, worked fine.
😢Behringer what are you doing

I'm not gonna lie, thorougly unimpressed. Can get FAR better vintage sounds with surgeXT
