More than 2 years after the end of GoT, it's possible to analyze the entire series in a more objective and measured way. It's true that there were some clues (about Daenerys' "dark" ending) from the first season, however using books's logic by George Martin, it's impossible not to notice how at some point in the TV series the characters were totally changed from how they are written in the books. For example we have Tyrion who after murdering his father and strangling his lover (and raping a prostitute, but this only in the books) suddenly becomes the best and most moralistic character of the whole show: yes, just the one who in the second season has not hesitated for a moment to use the Wildfire to destroy Stannis' fleet, burning thousands alive, including Ser Davos' son. And that's because on the show the showrunners had chosen Tyrion to get their voice on the moral of their story. While in the books Tyrion is actually selfish, cunning, calculating and ... vengeful !!! ... This evidently did not interest the showrunners. And it's easy enough to see how after the end of the fourth season (the last one that followed the books quite faithfully) this story was no longer Martin's but something else. Apparently they thought that by creating the female version of Anakin Skywalker, Disney would pave the way for a new Star Wars trilogy ... But things, as we all know, did not go exactly like this: you can't think of doing a job well if your head is somewhere else. If you want to do GoT well, you have to study Martin's books and add complexity and intrigue, you can't trivialize the plot that way and add a gorgeous ending ... but that was that of another TV series, that has nothing to do with the one you are working on. Perhaps the designated hero will be Jon, since in Martin's books it is almost always the male character who accompanies the reader to the moral of the whole story (although the more badass characters in Martin's books are predominantly female, and ASOIAF does not except for nothing). I'm afraid Bran will be King in the books too (but in what way and what it's all to see) ... and in my opinion he could also be the one who wrote ASOIAF (after all ASOIAF is written in various POVs, and Bran is the is the only one who can know what's going on inside a person's head, as he can go in and see people's past and present). In the book Fire & Blood, George seems to me to have changed the name of Jaehaerys I first daughter to Daenerys I (while in "The World of Ice and Fire" the name of the first born was different), so I assume that Martin wanted us to understand that maybe Daenerys will die in the war against the Others to save Westeros (as Daenerys I died of a disease called "Shivers"). Here is what you need to know about Daenerys I Targaryen: awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Daenerys_Targaryen_(daughter_of_Jaehaerys_I) This is not to say that Daenerys won't set King's Landing on fire, but if she does, it sure won't be her ending, and the reasons why that might be more of a mistake (remember the Wildfire below the city) than a deliberate thing. Either way Martin is a cheat, and he could change everything to make the story less predictable. So let's get ready for everything ... and until the books are out, I think everything is still plausible (except his happy ending ... that I think is 0.0000001% probable, because Martin is notoriously a sadist, and he loves to kill the characters readers are most fond of, plus love stories always end quite badly in his books).
@@lancenwokeji6349 she spent an amount of her childhood living in a house with a red door, which became the symbol of home for her, so when she dreamt about going to Westeros she imagined that all doors would be red. The red keep is a literal metaphor for her dream of a home, but she never felt at home in Westeros like she thought that she would, the more time she spent there, the further she strayed away from her real self. What was meant to be her home and everything she had done to make that dream come true was shattered day by day. So she gave up on that desire to make it her home when she felt that it would never be a home to her and abandoned herself right in the moment when she realized her dream wouldnt come true, thus painting the red door black and giving herself up in that moment in pursuit of another, more realistic dream, aka liberating the whole world from tyrants like Cersei.
@@leonorafilipovic so wait ✋, so does Danny in the books actually WANT the iron throne? Or is she just "liberating" it(and all of westeros) from the tyrannical House Lannister?
@@redadmiralofvalyria867 Dany wants the throne and considers it her right to have it, as she does in the show. In the books the Lannisters are considered an enemy and a threat but no more so than quite a few other great Houses. Book Dany is still in Essos.
Very unique, powerful, and quality remake of a classic. Everything fits. From the song to the visual. Very pleased, in every way. Feeling very warriorish.
Keep coming back to this video. The music, the editing, the darkness all brilliant put together. I really liked Dany, didn't like how they transformed her at the end. Maybe she would take that path, but all happened too quick. On the other hand, pain mixed with revenge it's an explosive mix. She lost her children, the man she loved, her friend, didn't feel was accepted by the people there put that together with the adrenaline of a fight and a need to revenge her friend...
Say what you want about the story, every aspect of the production was incredible; acting, sets, costumes, music. Incredible quality. And yes, Daenerys was and is my favorite character. I only wish the dragons had four legs, that's how I always picture dragons. That's just me.
I’ve watched this so many times. I understand why she lost it. From the moment we met her she was sold. So many losses and betrayals. If she left the city they wouldn’t have accepted her. Only because of your video have I changed my mind on the ending.
Imagine this show would've started with Dany and her Dragon as this cruel gothic villain. Would've been actually pretty cool (without book context ofc)
I think it's totally understandable how Dany became the mad queen and it wasn't as sudden as people say. She'd lost her home, her entire family, her husband, her baby, 2 of her dragons, her protector, her best friend. She faced betrayal everywhere she went. She was the breaker of chains who went to Westeros thinking the people would welcome her for saving them from an oppressor like Cersei, but no matter her sacrifices, she was cast aside for her nearest male counterpart. It's not, "Why did Dany lose her mind?" It's "Why didn't she lose it sooner?"
She also killed her brother (indirectly), her husband (two times, first by depravinf warriors of their spoils which resulted in a fight, then by suffocating him), crucified hundreds of innocent people, burned alive soldiers who surrendered on many occasions, and finally burned the whole city. She betrayed her first brother (who was promised the crown), then her second brother (who was the real heir). She didn't break the wheel, she simply killed those who had power so that she could have that power. Yup, she was crazy from the beginning.
I wish the show creators would have to a montage together like this! it would have explained so much at the time. We would have felt what she was feeling! Bravo for making this video!
A very atmospheric emotive version of this classic stones song. You gave it new lease of life with this rendition complemented by the scenes from the well known TV drama. Thanks for putting this on UA-cam 😊
This gave me goosebumps, well done. I remember feeling exhilarated and cheering when she took Kingslanding. The slaughter of the innocents though, I don't believe she would have done.
I honestly think Dany was always meant to end mad, even in George's story. To end up killing everyone in King's Landing, no matter their status. Just that D&D made it in the worst possible way possible and here we are.
Winter has come ...... what is left ... we stood on the line and faced the horror ... some lost it all and some lived, but none escaped the cost. I am going to the west of west and hope for the best.
People forgot how good she was and don't understand that all the pain make her that way. Then she found a man that she loved and he could not love her back because they were related. She saved more lives than she take. And how many people wanted to kill her. Thanks to Emilia Clarke that she brought this character to life. A lot of pain can turn into a madness.
Actually, Jon was madly in love with Dany. But being raised a Stark it was not honorable to bed his aunt. This story is being repeated now in House of Dragons between Daemon (uncle) and Rhaenyra (niece). And, because there has been some time between these two for some chemistry, fans are shipping them hard. Just because Jon refused to sleep with Dany did not mean he didn't love her. He continued to love her deeply and tried to keep his own feelings in check by remaining away from her. If not he was tempted -he wanted her. When Jon killed Dany he became a "broken man." It was touching when Tyrion showed compassion and touched his should for a few moments. Jon will never be the same again. So, his ending was not so wonderful either.
I would like to say -- THANK YOU!!! whoever made this awesome and beautiful video-- I loved/love Game of Thrones. I applaud you and youre wonderful work!!!
What a great video. She lost every creature she loved except Drogon, and then her remaining "friends" betrayed her. The first images are powerful to show motive far better than the stupid writing in the show.
She lost brother because she killed him (indirectly, but she watched the scene with pleasure). She lost husband because she killed him. Her friends were true, that's why they tried to stop her from committing more attrocities, like crucifying hundreds of people, burning alive soldiers who surrendered, or turning the biggest city in Westeros into ashes and slaughtering everyone inside. She betrayed her brother who was promised the crown. She betrayed her other brother whose real identity would make him the rightful heir.

I like to pretend the last season didn't really happen because it was a disaster from beginning to end. Don't even get me started on the BS that was the epic and great war that turned into a night of meh
I dare to say melting your brother's head with liquid gold is quite cruel. Suffocating your husband or burning alive the witch who brought him back because you wanted it, despite her warnings. Executing and burning alive surrendered soldiers. Crucifying hundreds of civilians. Killing all the masters and becoming the master yourself. Executing your advisor because he tried to stop your from committing more attrocities. Lying about the true identity of your step brother, the rightul heir, and manipulating him in order to keep power. Oh, and that moment when you decide to burn the whole city to ashes, while your soldiers slaughter everyone on the ground, because why not. And never had the guts to do it with your own hands.

Here is what you need to know about Daenerys I Targaryen:
awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Daenerys_Targaryen_(daughter_of_Jaehaerys_I)
This is not to say that Daenerys won't set King's Landing on fire, but if she does, it sure won't be her ending, and the reasons why that might be more of a mistake (remember the Wildfire below the city) than a deliberate thing.
THIS IS LIFE. Omg this is better than the entire last two seasons. FIRE AND BLOOD!
the best character all time. also, emilia is an icon like wowwwwwww! what a sensational actress
I loved both Dany and Cercei. Long live awesome queens
She was still so young and beautiful. She was taken away from us way too soon 😭 I will never forget you Daenerys
'I see your red door, I want it painted black' has a whole more meaning if you think about the books
absolutely, glad you noticed it🔥
What’s the meaning?
However, Book Dany actually decides to put off her return to Westeros because she feels an obligation to the people of Mereen to see them through the current chaos that she indirectly caused when she freed the slaves. Book Dany is still in Essos.
Very unique, powerful, and quality remake of a classic. Everything fits. From the song to the visual. Very pleased, in every way.
Feeling very warriorish.
This was amazing! It made me truly long for a series where Daenerys’ villain arc/descent into madness was long and fleshed out. Spine chilling! 👏👏👏
emilia is the best actress of her generation and what a video well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The combination of the song and the video gave me goosebumps!
Imagine this show would've started with Dany and her Dragon as this cruel gothic villain. Would've been actually pretty cool (without book context ofc)
Thanks for your dedication in this commentary
i would be like "sorry? mommy? sorry? mommy" for that daenerys
Somebody write the fanfiction now plz & thank you, am humbly requesting
The amount things she doesn’t do compared to others she’d still be a saint in comparison
Excellent "Paint it black" cover!
I love Rolling Stones so much, but this cover is incredible!!!

Perfect song for her!! Absolutely!!!
This video does a better job of explaining Dany's descent than the show did.
My Queen, always and forever. ❤
I wish the show creators would have to a montage together like this! it would have explained so much at the time. We would have felt what she was feeling! Bravo for making this video!
Or... crazy idea here... you could pay attention to the show and come to those conclusions yourself without needing a montage.
A very atmospheric emotive version of this classic stones song. You gave it new lease of life with this rendition complemented by the scenes from the well known TV drama. Thanks for putting this on UA-cam 😊
emilia should be winning oscars now. so talented
This gave me goosebumps, well done. I remember feeling exhilarated and cheering when she took Kingslanding. The slaughter of the innocents though, I don't believe she would have done.
Noubody innocents.
I honestly think Dany was always meant to end mad, even in George's story. To end up killing everyone in King's Landing, no matter their status. Just that D&D made it in the worst possible way possible and here we are.
Bloody hell awesome edit!!!😎😎😎😎
Thank you so much for saying that, i appreciate it a LOT❤🥴🔥
legends never die
One of those overused song but that does fit Dany and jeez your editing! So on point! You really elevated the whole end result, congratulations!
Correction: *a lot of bad writing can turn a character mad in the span of two episodes
Great job with this video. This is a perfect song for her. Everything is spot on.
Why am I crying right now? This was amazing.
All I can even think is WOW!!!
This makes me want to cry when I searched the lyrics of the song. Daenerys lost her red door and everything around and inside her turned black.
Clips of this show always look so cool but when I try to watch I just can't.
That was brilliant! Congrats to you for putting it together!
thank you!!!☺
That was exceedingly well done. Bravo.
So underrated one of the best edits I've seen
Absolutely amazing editing 💥🩷 Well done !
All hail the Queen of Dragons 🐉
She will always be my queen.
Гармония между видео и музыкой. Отлично!
Merci pour cette vidéo et pour tout ces souvenirs ainsi que cette musique. Thank you for this video and for all these memories as well as this music.
I love this video! Found it a few days ago, been jamming everyday since. I also love G.O.T's. This video perfectly sums up when and why she became the mad queen. I didn't care for season 8, too many loose ends. And Bran on the throne, NO WAY.
Dany is the greatest character ever written.
not too sure about any of you folks, but I for one think this is an absolutely fantastic editing job.
Love it!
These are some amazing scenes you put together to match this perfect song. Thanks
“Setting Sun” *shows Cersei*. Perfect.
thank you for noticing the detail😌
this is one hell of an edit, you are amazing. please make for Arya
I liked this and thanks to whoever made it. Just so fucking sad how GoT ended. So many characters arcs just turned awful but Dany most of all.
Gorgeous composure, wonderfully crafted, Midgard and Valyria appreciate your portfolio here.
wow emilia is astonishingly versatile !!!!!!! i love this woman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The true Queen 🔥🔥👑
Amazing video! Thank you❤!
I’m getting goosebumps just watching this - your video is totally awesome! Thank you!
Fly my love and have your revenge. Everyone knows "revenge is a dish best served cold" So powerful in song and deeds...
Absolutely love her. And I never get how people call her cruel when she was far from the only one who wanted power to kill others.
Dragon Lord's Rule. Born to it . Can't just be one . Perish the Fool
0:56 perfect acting 😍
This is one of the best edits I've ever watched... Great job!! I love it
One of the most beautiful women ever to Grace a screen
Damn couldn't get any better
Love it especially because my brother in law was in it and his father they were extras but my brother in law had so many prominent scenes, I'm so proud of him and all the people of Northern Ireland who made this happen ☘️😘
I find it amusing when people say this isn't her; she is vengeance. She's been burning people alive since season 1. Fire and blood.
Yes. And crucifying them. And melting their heads. And suffocating them. She's a killer.
This fan video is everything! Thank you!
I am still mourning Daenerys
Same
This video explains so much about the reasoning for her turning mad at the end. At some point, after all of her tragedies, it only makes sense that she would snap
This is the best GOT edit I've found. Hype af. You should make more GOT edits like this!
Absolutely wonderful work !!!
One of the most beautiful series of all the time.
And Daenerys is soooooooo beautiful.
I love her.
❤❤❤
This is just magnificent editing!
Great Video, very professional and emotional. Been watching it x times. And Emilia Clarke is just great in that role.
I want a poster of the dragon behind her at that gate. I wonder how a person so completely destructive can be so loveable. Great puzzlement.
This song is cool.
