    just made this recipie....cooked over low heat and stirred constantly. When it was finished and hot I put in a handful of semi-sweet chocolate chips and put in serving dishes immediately and let cool down to room temperature. when it was cool to chocolate chips had kind of dissolved and we're super soft it was delightful! this recipe is definitely going down in my cookbook thanks brother!

    Thanks for that classic recipe Dan. If you fold in a cup of whipped heavy cream when the pudding cools, it makes a great mousse, pie or cake filling. Bravo. Blessings ChefMike

      Also, melt some Hershey bars in the milk before adding the other ingredients, increase the milk to three cups and add 1 tablespoon additional cornstarch....if using dark chocolate bars, add 1 tablespoon sugar as well.

    That was FANtastic!! I couldn’t wait until 4 am, so I started early: 1:00 am!! It was rich, smooth, creamy and delectable! No lumps because I used one of those push mixers they sell at the fairs. Easiest pudding to make!! When it cools I’m going to lather it with whipped cream! Thanks so much!!

    Great recipe, the best chocolate pudding that I could find on youtube.
    I just made it and it came out great and yummy, I didn’t have corn starch so instead of that I used wheat starch, that worked perfectly good.

    This is it!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, if one substitutes a part of sugar with L'arabinose, it becomes the ultimate dessert.
    L'arabinose is an all natural sugar blocker and is sweet. Helps fight the onset of diabetes without giving up sugar

    I'd also like to do a butterscotch putting recipe and I'm sure vanella would be very similar with the sugar and what have you and you might even better get a little bit of flavor which is a tiny bit of vanilla in this chocolate pudding or maybe even a little bit of peanut butter.

    I use Penzey's double vanilla at normal measurement from recipe and the next day it is far more flavor packed then the day you make it. You have to be careful on the temp, chocolate burns easily. Some recipes may be inaccurate on how long to cook. Even so, I burnt the pan, but saved the chocolate pudding. The way I got the horrible scorch off was I put some liquid dish detergent in there, some water, and baking soda, lemon juice (for the citric acid) and Coke Life. I don't have a good reaction to the newest Coke Life so I used that and boiled it all and would watch it so it doesn't overflow; picking up the pan, putting it on simmer, and I took an SOS pad and handled it with a wooden spatula and it did wonders and easily! Next time I may try the Coke Life alone. It doesn't have citric acid but it has phosphoric acid. I'm really glad to know this because once I didn't know what to do when I was seasoning a stainless steel pan and it sat on the burner too long and scorched and burnt it. With my mixture above, it actually raises the scorched on material making it easy to lift off.

    • @JustinCrediblename
      @JustinCrediblename 9 років тому

      +TDG101 Animations you can use flour, but it's more difficult and you might not like the taste as much. pick the whitest, blandest, least healthy wheat flour that you have, multiply the corn starch amount by 3x, and cook for lots longer until the flour taste becomes less significant. (I don't know how long that takes...probably depends on the flour)

      I stirred for 5 minutes, but it wasn't long enough. But good luck!
      I was just repeating a few internet articles about corn starch substitution.
      I also think it might mean needing to add more sugar as well
