Can an executer of and estate put a road where a house is?well my husband aunt is doing that here in Trinidad and putting the road reserve where my house is to get us to break it down My fatherinlaw is the owner and we have written permission to build and verbal permission from the executer do you think this will work in court does she have the legal right to put the road where our house is to break it down.The land is now being surveyed and subdivided so im wondering will our home have to break fiwn?
I bought a road from an auction from the commissioners land auctions. I didn’t mean to we thought it was something else turned out to be just a road. It leads to private homes and the only road to their homes. Can the commissioners office sell this? Are we now in charge with keeping up with it? How do we get out of it? The neighbor beside this road thought maybe they owned it (it was next to a huge farm). Can we legally block this road? Not that we plan to. We just didn’t know we were buying a road we thought it was a sliver of land or something else. We can’t build on it we can’t do anything with it. Did we just waste our money? Do we just not pay the property taxes on it either & let the state or county take it back?

I have repaired this rd 4 times now , getting ready to be a 5th time in 5 yrs. He had it named circle but closed the rd at the end so no one could use his pretty paved side yrs ago before I bought my house. I had no idea it was going to be like this. I plan on getting a lawyers advice on this as well. After dealing with 911 on my address not being found, I finally after almost 5 yrs got the owner to agree with changing my rd name and now my one and only neighbor that moved in a yr ago is fighting me on it. I just don't know what to do here. Any Advice?

I would add a toll to charge for repairs. It’s your road!
Do I need signatures to change name of a private road? How do I go around a petition? It would be named after my non profit.
Thanks for the question! I would say you'd need to check with the governing municipality to find out what the process is to change a road name.

You should be much much better at fixing roads by now. 5x's in five years...I think you might have family who built roads on NY.
