Thanks so much for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it. At the end of the day, there’s no one video 100% of people will like or person everyone will like.... so that’s Okay
Wow, what an amazing day of fishing! Much respect to the original custodians of this land, The Chumash, it's such a blessing to be born and raised on this part of the Central Coast. Thanks for sharing with us.
Hook2Cook what?? I go there all the time perch fishing in minutemen, brown beach and listern. I’m assuming ur talking about south beach at the boat house .
Dang!!! So many good tips in this video.. feel like I have been doing it wrong for so long! Gotta get me a base pass! So awesome! Thanks so much hook to cook!
Hook2Cook I had been using squid and you guys were slaying with muscles. I normally focus on smaller pockets. But this video opens up that you can cast out into bigger pools and pockets, more open water. And look into getting a base pass.. 😉
"Libertatum Defendimus" -- Very cool experience! Got to love the ancestry origin and history lesson and how the early settlers prospered from the land but lived in harmony with it. Respect the habitat because it looks like that area is still very productive and healthy. Thanks for sharing and it looks like you all did and had a great time.
Thanks brother! We’re very forty for have access to this spot since not many do and it’s closed from March until October anyway so it gets little to no traffic
Lol don’t you let sharks take it and the circle hook sets itself with a sweeping pull? The cabezon had no chance when he ate it and sat down to swallow
I really enjoy watching your vids, good to know about Vandenberg AFB. I am retired Airforce, so i can get on base,,oooo now im adding that on my travel list
Awesome video Edward! I finally had time to watch it. What a beautiful location. I do a lot of poke poling and coastal foraging with my kids, so this is a poke poler's paradise. 😉
Thanks Quan! Yes this was a truly special episode. Thanks for going back into the archive! haha. This is definitely a paradise for poke polers and the mere ability to go out there was a privilege.
Yo the diversity of game fish in such a little spot (which looks not too deep either) is crazy! Would love to fish this type of area. I'll have to find someplace in the Bay Area to do this. Great vid!
Yes! That was the crazy part! The perch were in maybe 2-3 feet and the cabs and grassys came in puddles basically. Just goes to show how much competition for food there is in these zones. These places are usually a hike well worth it!
So epic! The area looked beautiful and when you all started catching the different species made it even more exciting!! One of my favorite videos you’ve done so far! Much respect from another west coast angler 🌊
Awesome video ! You guys had such a good time out there . the ocean provides. And to the one who was able to get you guys on the base , thank you for your service 🇺🇸
Damn that's dope man! Knocking out species left n right. Good stuff fam. I'm still on the hunt for a spot to get that yield in my area (Bay Area). Keep up the vids bro.
what an awesome day 🤯 it's great to see different ways of fishing like you said. how does she make those pole poles ? any chance of a closer up or a how to ?
Leroy and Monica’s response- No mussels were harmed in the filming of this video”!😛. Two generations of my family and other families have stood on that rock and that same mussel bed. There has always been mussels on it in the forty years I’ve fished it and I know this cause it makes for good footing without slipping. Just an FYI but I respect their concern for the bivalves😊.
Knocking it before they try it 🤷🏻♂️but hey its all good. Everyone has their own free will. Of course we’d love to see 100% 👍🏻 but the world isn’t perfect and not everyone likes what we do. It’s a beautiful and freeing thing to accept
Those are black perch, not rubberlips. Epic video! This is the most productive rock fishing trip I have ever seen!
You’re probably right! 😅
they are called buttermouth perch
My brother caught a good sized rockfish it was 16.2 inches and it chunky, I liked this video
Wow take me with you next time! Leroy said he’d get me a pass 😎
Annoying how people hit the thumbs down. Like how can you possibly it like it. Basically haters. Keep up the good work bro!! Inspiring to me.
Thanks so much for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it. At the end of the day, there’s no one video 100% of people will like or person everyone will like.... so that’s Okay

Agreed! This area is so rich and it’s not congested!
That was lit!
Already planning a catch and cook there with a special guest ;) when it opens up again after plover season. We’ll keep an eye on the minus tides.
Damn Monica knows her shit!!!
Awesome video !!!👍Nice catch 😉👊🎣🎣🎣
Thank you!
This is one of your best fishing video you have done...! 👍👏👍
Thank you. This truly was a special day
Wow alot of species
Yea we were pleasantly surprised
Y'all perch is a black sea perch or pogie, not a rubberlip. Just an FYI, nice vid

That’d be awesome! The time with your boy with all the fresh air sounds amazing! You can’t say no
@@Hook2Cook I spent the 70's n 80's living for rock/rowboat fishing. Now my 27 yr old is teaching me new stuff. ;-)
Love that! Exactly how dad is. From full time bait fisherman to casting plugs with the best of em!

Hook2Cook I had been using squid and you guys were slaying with muscles. I normally focus on smaller pockets. But this video opens up that you can cast out into bigger pools and pockets, more open water. And look into getting a base pass.. 😉

I've never seen a pokepolelike that but it seems affective
Yes especially when the ledges go under your feet
What do they use on the end of the pole pole? Piece of a rod?
Coat hanger

Yo Ed what kind of waders do you guys use. Thanks
Sup dude! These are the ones. It's a cool deal because it comes with a hanger that lets you dry them upside down after washing em. amzn.to/3avoJoo

Oh for sure! Maybe next time we’ll bring the raw materials for Monica to demonstrate! The one she has is 30 years old now!
Hey man i have access to the base amd i was wondering what part of the base it is
Come on, don't walk on the mussel beds.
