LAX flight attendant here. The cost of Uber is insane near the airport, but there’s a trick! The Hyatt Regency LAX is a five minute walk to Terminal 1 - and about $20 cheaper to Uber to. We all Uber to that hotel.. then walk over to terminal. Saves a LOT of money

I run a podcast for my business and had 2 different 'podcast bookers' contact me on the same day a couple of weeks ago to book people into my podcast (never happened before). For a minute i was thinking my podcast made it to the next level but I also thought it was weird that 2 different people contacted me on the same day when I'm not a big name outside my network. I think it's only because I am based in Sydney Australia so the times don't line up easily that saved me. Now, I've seen this - I'll contact the people they claim to be working for to alert them, too. Thank you so much!

Ah, yeah. I’ve heard of and had that scam attempted on me a number of times. I wish there was a place for creators that allows us to see all the scams right now and in the past. The issue is not making it public so the scammers know about it. You’d have to gatekeep it and verify the creator. So much work lol.
As food bloggers we are really well connected with each other so most of us have been warning each other of this scam for months. I have SO many of those emails. Sorry you got scammed Shelby, but really glad it isn’t a big problem for you.
Shelby, I enjoy your infectious personality and I'm glad you turned this into helping others. Lastly, its nice your traveling to Seattle more. Personally, I think you living in both places would be the perfect scenario for you.

Super thank you for sharing this! You have no idea. I got scammed when I was in my early 20s. I gave them my checking account and routing number over the phone. They told me that I had a credit card that was way past due and need to pay it otherwise it will ding my credit report.
I was young and naive. I’m so glad you shared this story with me because now I don’t feel like the only one that got scammed.
If Sam wants questions I have some. 1) How did Monica and Jason meet and how did Shelby and Sam meet? 2) what is Sam's favorite and Jason's favorite quality about Shelby and Monica? 3) What is Sam's and Jason's least favorite quality about Shelby and Monica? 4) How does each sister handle conflict with their partners? 5) Has Sam and Jason talked with Shelby and Monica about potentially having kids? 6) (for both Jason and Sam) What does your partner do that's annoying and what do they do that you appreciate?
Monica did say it. Jason was a neighbour, a few houses down from the Seattle home.

oooh A couple should only buy a house together when they are married. The Marriage paperwork offers protection in a break up that a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship does not get.

The email looks pretty legit. Scams are getting so sophisticated these days, it's scary!

For Sam, every couple has a few petty arguments they revisit over and over (e.g. I like flying direct vs I'd rather save money and go the long route OR no dishes in the sink EVER vs take care of the day's dishes at the end of the day). What is one of your petty arguments?
That story time is so spooky! almost got scammed once when I was trying to sublet an apt. they make it so believable!
In my area housing scams are really bad. A lot of ‘squatters’ are actually paying application fees, security deposits and rent to people pretending to be the homeowners. But really, they’ve found empty houses where the owners are not local so they change the locks, post fake ads online and scam lots of potential tenants to gather a bunch of application fees etc. some even let the applicants move in and collect monthly rents until the real owner finds out, the tenants have leases and everything. It’s a huge problem!

Sam & Jason: Deep question here: You were all up late night drinking and having fun. Got a bunch of pizza. You all crash late night and leave half a pizza on the counter. You wake up and find someone late night or early morning binge ate half the pizza. Was it Monica or Shelby?

Another UA-camr had the same issue this year, almost exactly. Rob Ferretti. He had protections on his account though that stopped them from getting too far.
I get spam and robo calls a lot. Look at their email that it's coming from. That rises a red flag. They like to use RE: in the email subject line pretending that you replied to their me.
It happens lol. They just caught you off guard

That works flying as well. I can never actually sleep on planes so I just shut everything off (movies, screens etc) and put my eye mask on and close my eyes and rest. I feel more refreshed than if I keep watching stuff trying to sleep

I definitely also think just lying in bed and closing your eyes, even if you're not asleep, helps a lot. Also yes, I don't understand why you get up so early, definitely sleep in a couple hours later.

No business would have a gmail, they would buy a domain. That should be alert number 1. Also change permissions or anything on your Facebook should make the alarm bells ring. Foreign speakers aslo, no video on call. Lot's of indications that this is a scam. But most people will experience being scammed in their life, so you are not alone.
These days there are so many that want to scam.

OMG. I heard about this earlier in the year with a few other podcasters/ influencers but the scammer said the podcast was with Lewis Howe. If only people applied their “brain cells” to a real job or business! Use 2nd authentication on your socials too.

You have 30 thousand followers who are now open to scammers, but you don't care about the page? I hope they resolved the issue because mine never was.

Shelby, don’t worry about the scam. The only one wasting their time and money is the scammer and if he doesn’t really want to do business with you, its his loss! Its not reality your money on the line but the money he’s offering you to promote a brand deal. If someone doesn’t take tour time and willingness to work with them seriously, move on. Glad you did!
