She opened up a brand new way to enjoy watercolours for me. Her bubbly enthusiasm and clear hands on approach was such a joy. She left the best legacy. So thankful for this upload. Much love from Norway
I only just today discovered her work and was so excited to find her and she inspired me to pick up a brush again after a long absence. I am SO sad to find she has passed and send sincere condolences to her family. I hope they find comfort in the fact that so many of us are enjoying her video works.
This is fabulous! Does anyone know if she gave permission for us to share our paintings based on her work on our social media? What beautiful work, I can’t wait to paint this!❤
I truly miss Karlin dearly. She is one of my favorite watercolor artists. I have learned a lot from her - especially to just have fun painting. I have one of her original paintings. It really inspires me. I also love her books. She is truly missed.
This refreshing way with watercolors caught my eye and I thoroughly enjoyed the lesson. Sad to hear Ms. Karlyn is no longer at her studio, but I'm sure she's busy making Heaven even more beautiful than it already must be.
I just hung a painting of Karlyn’s today, in my new home, that Karlyn gave me, when she visited Tasmania to conduct a workshop here. So glad to see her work on YT, and to hear her voice again…
This just popped up for me and I love it! I have your book and have done several of them. Love every minute of it. Your ideas are amazing.👍👍🤗💖 oh after reading other comments I find she has passed and that is very sad. What a wonderful artist she was. I’m so glad I have 2 of her books💖
I love, love colour I’ve never seen anything like this before. It’s fantastic 😮 this is just a brilliant idea to paint with all those colours. It looks sooooo beautiful 😃 thank you for sharing your process 😊
So inspiring! I can't wait to give it a go. Of course, it is obvious that you are extremely talented, so I will not expect such a great work. But it's a learning skill!! Many thanks.
Love her style. So glad that the video just popped up. So sorry to hear that she passed away. May she rest in peace. I am going to try to paint the way showed here. It's simply awesome!
What a wonderful technique. You make it look so easy! Thank-you for sharing. I'm definitely going to try this in the winter. Looks like fun and a great way to learn something new!❤
Wow ! I loved your commentary, description of why you chose a color, the addition of stripes, and the use of watercolor pencils. I can’t wait to try this myself ! Thank you for a great lesson
I enjoyed hearing: If you don't like that, just skip it. I liked it, I just didnt have the material. Had to stop at timestamp 29 minutes as I've been shifted to other responsibilities. Thanks again for the fun fresh video. 🙏
I just found your channel and subscribed , if it wasn’t so late I would be binge watching to see what all I’ve missed. But like Scarlet O’Hara said I’ll think about it tomorrow, after all tomorrow is another day.
I absolutely ADORE this piece of work ! And it was so well edited too - enough detail for us to understand the process but not too much that it gets boring, so it went by so fast I cant believe we're already at the end :) Cheers from France
Thank you for making her videos avalable. I have all her books. Love her art and had hoped to have a workshop with her. Though I don’t know her, she is missed.
Wow, Karlyn, this was a wonderful lesson full of instruction and tips and guidance for anyone wanting to learn about colour, composition, contrast, using watercolour, and so on. The cover photo in the lineup of UA-cam videos caught my eye, and I'm so glad it did. I am just beginning to try watercolour, after having a bit of experience with oils and acrylics, and I'm so happy I found you!
Wow,this is beautiful, not a beginners painting, but very well explained.I love that colourful background,it really shows the lilies off so well.Although not my favourite flower, they look very elegant against the colours !so it’s actually made them look beautiful as well.I really think that the natural element of the lilies and the colours work so well together.I enjoyed watching this, and you explained it so well too.Thank you 🥰
Wow. I’ve just discovered you. I’ve watched several of your picture videos and think I could do them. I would like to take a class from you, except I’m 72 yrs old and I need to fly to where you are because I live in Texas. 😢 a watercolor artist but some of your techniques are new to me. I want to leave a legacy of art for my children. You are amazing… I started painting when I was in the 5th grade, about 1965. My teacher told my mother to send me to an art teacher. So… she did. The rest is history. I learned several mediums. I wish I could talk to you…..
I just found this artist… has she passed? Everyone seems to be talking about her in the past tense. I love her! Also, I’m wondering if you can use regular white tissue paper for the pieces.
Wow! I’m so glad I happened upon this wonderful little lesson! This basic idea can be extrapolated on and used a zillion ways. Thank you for sharing these marvelous and very beautiful techniques.❤ I use unryu paper, but this is a new idea. Can anyone tell if she has REMOVED the bits of paper, or glued them down?
This is beautiful and inspiring! And so well-explained! One question, did you let the project completely dry before penciling in the lines? Thanks so much for the great ideas!

What paper did you use for the collage? Thank you. Very beautiful painting rich in colors and texture. I love it
where did you get the stencil you used in this painting. It's wonderful
This is really pretty, I was wondering can you do this with a coloured flower? So instead of white cala lilies can we change to say purple Iris.
Красиво. Интересный приём с салфеткой, попробую обязательно.
Genius
👏👏👏💜
Love this. What paper are you using?
Do u have a spray glue on one side of the stencil? If so, what? And did u use just regular pencil crayons on what grit sandpaper?
Alguém poderia me dizer que material usou colando os pedaços? Agradecida! Brazil

It looked great with the effects before it was finished. Less can be more
Anyone know what the yes paste (?) is that she used to glue down the paper is? I think that's what she called it.
What kind of paper for the collage please? and the paste ?
Can anyone tell me what this Unryu paper is and where to get it and the brand. Thank you
What is Yes Paste? That is what it sounds like. How do you paste down shapes that are already there?
