  • We were asked to do a video touring one of our trucks--so here you go! We love these heavy-duty Besler flatbeds, and have ours laid out just the way we like them. A complete fence-building system in one truck. If you're a contractor and need a good organization system for your tools, we highly recommend this setup, complete with the Besler flatbed and the SpeedTech lights. 👍🏻

everyone here in Michigan just use custom built flatbeds with mixers on top with wood sides with boxes underneath. Basically an all in one truck, you do see trucks like these but they tend to be for just welding.

Dan… listening to you talk about that fancy-schmancy truck bed brought back memories.
It was about 1968, summertime, middle of a drought, with temperatures dropping to 90f at night…. Roasting during the day.
My little brother had just reached a milestone of maturity. He had just learned not to wet the bed at night. His reward…. A new mattress!
My dad and I carried the old one outside and tossed it in the back of the 1959 Studebaker pickup. Our plan was to let it dry out and toss it on a brush pile. But. The drought was unrelenting… there was no way to burn until we got a rain. So, it laid in the pickup, parked in the sunny cattle pasture for several days.
Finally, my dad told me to drag the mattress out and put it in the barn. It was totally dry and ready to burn, as soon as we got the next rain.
A few nights later there was going to be a full moon. After the evening milking, my two brothers and I gathered up the fishing poles, chicken livers and worms.
They brought out some old quilts to use as sleeping bags. As we were loading the Studebaker, I happened to remember the old mattress. So, we grabbed it and tossed it in the back of the pickup.
Well after midnight, the moon went behind the trees. With no catfish action, we grew sleepy. I claimed rights to the mattress. They spread their quilts on the creek bank.
I picked the side of the mattress with the smallest yellow spot and turned it facing up. Did I mention that it was hot?
The odor of the stagnant creek water mixed with about two gallons of insect repellent and a full day of sweaty teen body odor was heavy in the air. But, the quilt covered mattress didn’t seem to smell too bad…. At first. But, once my sweat soaked through the quilt, it came out in all its urine soaked glory.
I awoke the next morning smelling like my other brother…. He was the one who slept on the bottom bunk… the one beneath the incontinence plagued little brother.
But, I have to admit, I had the most comfortable nights sleep that I’d ever had at the creek!
So Dan, that bed you have is pretty cool… and might even smell better…. But I’ll bet you money that it ain’t half as comfortable as my first pickup bed!
You have a good danged New Year!

VERY VERY NICE. That box looks sweet is it Steel?. Our Trucks have custom Aluminum boxes with up and over the cab of the truck for top rail wheel barrow. it's hard to find a picture of these trucks on google since Eastern Fence and Maritime fence like to scrub the net of them so no one copies them, but we did LOL. Your box is more ideal for an Iron worker/welder. the big front tool boxes we have, the bed is still 10 ft 6 inches long with all 3 sides able to fold down and hold up for a work table. Maybe i'll make a video and show you our Canadian style fencing truck. I like the look of yours better. our wrenches get hung like yours including the 1/2 rubber mat i put eye hooks every where so i can strap everything all down. We use the air compressor rhyno more than the gas pounder. Gas pounder is basically useless in nova scotia also they stick operating them in the winter. Air compressor hits harder and can switch to the drill for rock. only thing that sucks is when the hoses freeze we so we installed a heater in one box to thaw them keeping 2 oilers so we can swap them out lol. Thanks for the video

I do not have the option of using a truck with a utility bed because code enforcement here wants to fine you 500 a day for a "commercial vehicle" So I use the junkiest stock pickup truck and put my tools in a Jobox. Those new trucks with the cheap plastic bumpers make no sense, putting on the steel ones fix that, wish they were still available in chrome!
