You are within your rights to charge a call out fee given the distance, time and tolls ....time is money! If we got called out(given was 100km drive to get there) it was a minimum 3hr charge whether work got done or not.
Ah, what a relief; for the drain AND the customer... and you even helped them out to clean it up. I would be more than happy that I could let go of the worries after you've gone. Thanks for being the Penetrator! :)
The blockage was wet wipes and you know what and actually stopped by a monster length of roots under it all! She was definitely the catch of the week! Great clean out Gavin.
Does anybody else dry heave while watching poor Gavin do this or is it just my youth coming back to me working as a plumbers assistant in my early twenties . . .
Gavin great job , excellent video that was some root ball in that one, definitely something to show there visitors and talk about over there meal time🤣
I have had much of the experience you mentioned especially sùb contractors,,,,,,,,,your a one of the good guys and much appreciated by your customers love from London England 🇬🇧 been a fan a long long time xxx
Those gloves you wear are a frickin godsend for that. But oh gosh- what a catch right at the entrance of the drain! That was huge! Great work once again Gavin. Catch you next one
I'd rather be clearing crap from a drain than sitting in a spinny chair. That looked like a Dino doodoo sitting on top of those roots. 😄 Good job Gavin. 👏👏👏👏
Always enjoy watching your videos. When I was a kid, my dad always made me unclog the septic tank which was a nasty job. I feel for you on these type of jobs.
Well done ! That was a disgusting mess coming out of that pipe and then to see the huge amount of roots that stopped that drain up was uneal! What a job you have Gavin!!!!
A Call, we have a Block!! In the cellar a full Drain, hard how Concrete. You open the Fall drain, a springtide from above. To belove Hard hard the Nozzle have Problem! Then Paper and Roots make the Block!. Unblock and Wash the Cellar the Terrace with Desinfect. A great Work
Great video Gavin. That was some amount of crap that came out of the pipe as well as the roots. As for the customer not being in when you arrived it's the same here in the UK well Scotland to be precise. Tradesmen here get mucked about just the same and as you say they lose money because of it. Anyway you're definitely top notch at what you do and it's amazing what you pull out of drains over there in Oz.
I think that was the nastiest one I've seen you do just caked in there good Lord great job man up to your arms and s*** that's why you get paid the big bucks LOL
Hi Gavin. Another great job. I know that I keep making suggestions to add to the tool kit, so how about a rubber squeegee on a broom handle to push it all back to the drain pipe. Less time, less effort and less water although I know theres no shortage of it at the moment. Just a thought. Sue, mum from Adelaide, South Australia.
When it comes to cleaning after, to what extent are you liable and where does professional courtesy start? Since you made the mess clearing it does that mean you have to clean and sanitize after or is it technically the customer's responsibility to clean everything after you've gone?
The customer is the one with a blockage and they contacted me to clear the drain. If I think there is going to be mess I give them the heads up before I start so they understand
Two things that have drastically reduced my no-shows: Email & SMS reminders, and positive communication (eg email replies when I send them a booking). I might only get one no-show every couple of months. Email & SMS reminders are automatically handled by my field service software.
Hi Gavin, Another great catch, How much would that weigh? Is it big enough? Isnt that the questions when you catch a fish? ...lmao It definately hasnt happened over night WOW. About the first job, maybe his ph was silent but is his front door on silent to?? Lol. Sorry lame excuse. You look out for people if you know they are coming.. Great job cleaning after your catch. Stay Safe my friend ❤👍 Hi Mrs P 🌺🤗
you have very infectious smile....it goes all the way to your eyes lol....have a great day
If you are called out to a job and you agree to go that person should be there and ready for your arrival! I think people can be so rude!
His doorbell was on silent too?
@Diann Charlan: Of course that is a civilized MUST!

I know folk who complain about a crappy job but you Gavin, you literally do have a crappy job, 100% respect sir!
Thank you 😊

You made me laugh when you were playing with the poo like Play Dough. 😅
I love the way these always end with high powered wash, great way to power wash drives
Now I've seen everything! Big old wood saw in the drain pipe. Gotta think out side of the box👍🏻👍🏻
OMG that was epic! 😮
Crikey......I can almost smell it from here....and I am in Canada!!

@7:06 I passed one just like that this morning!🚽🚽😲😲
sweet fuck are plumbers ever a necessity for a functioning society. Wouldn't catch me doing that, that's for sure.
Was the first customers door bell on silent too?...haha
Exactly, that didn't really make any sense 😁
Is there going to be a tour of the new van/pick up
this would be when losing your sense of smell from Covid would come in handy
Im gagging but can't stop watching
You poor man!
Good lord that’s huge

Whatever you get paid, it ain't enough...lol! 🤮
I thought you might get access by sliding the stack up out of the expansion joint. A little trick I did sometimes.
Love that explosion!
Great job! 🤢🤮 Even the owner had to leave😂
That's Why they call them a Brick Sh*t House???lol
Wow 😎
Good job…
Thank you 😊
Just barfed up my cookies. So gross but glad you do this and helped clean up
Just wondering why you don't use your spray wand to wash the floors down.

A lot of tradespeople here have a callout fee, that gets charged even if the customer is a no show.
@@mark77193 I have that also, but it is best to not have to charge for a no-show
