Would this work up OK with a cotton yarn?

I don’t see why not! It just won’t have as much stretch as it would with acrylic so it could affect the sizing of the waistband/neck. I’d probably recommend going up a size if using cotton 😊

My instructions say to chain 1turn my work and work 68 stitches. You don't mention that in the tutorial.
