    Get behind the wheel of the 2020 Jaguar XE P300 R-Dynamic S in this POV Drive with no talking. The refreshed XE sedan is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 296hp and 295 lb-ft of torque in P300 versions. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. At present, this is the most powerful version of the XE (Jaguar discontinued V6 models for 2020).
    Changes for 2020 include new LED headlights and taillights, a larger mesh grille, and R-Dynamic specific fasciae. Inside, material quality and storage has been improved. There’s also a new steering wheel courtesy of the I-Pace, and a new shifter borrowed from the F-Type.
    The 2020 Jaguar XE P300 is on sale now at a starting price of $47,290 (including destination).

    Is it just in the video or is the cabin very good isulated in this car there is no noise of the wind or what ever you hear nothing , it’s very silent ?

      The cabin is very well insulated with minimal road and wind noise heard from behind the wheel. I didn't modify the audio, so what you hear is accurate.

      *Hakan, FWIW I have a '17 XE R-Sport and at 15K miles to date, and to my utter astonishment and far greater delight, my dang car has no rattles, sqeaks, creaks, nothing. Nada. N. O. N. E. It is as rock solid today as day I picked it up w/ 9 miles on it. And this is living/driving in NYC (Manhattan) and tristate area - with roads that will shake a sherman tank to bits in short order. The car is a haven inside, though nicely not at all numb to the driving experience. It is the first **_and only_** car I've owned or ever been in without any rattles etc. I can say at least as to my vehicle, the 'build' is as solid as it is sublime*

    Did this car has a fake exhaust sound from inside the cabin or it is a pure sound from the exhaust?

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  4 роки тому +1

      There is some engine noise enhancement from the cabin speakers, yea.

      I had a test drive yesterday. A 2019 XE P250 SE R-Dynamic. I couldn't hear any engine or exhaust noise while driving. All of the sound came out of the speakers. The sound is somewhat dependent on the drive mode and the selected settings in R-Dynamic mode.

    Hi,
    I have a question for you. I have the same car with the same wheels just the pre-face lift version. When cornering at full or near full lock in wet or cold conditions at slow speed the front wheels are skidding forward a little as the rear wheels push the car forward. I also experienced the same with a RWD V6 one that had the same wheels. When driving in traffic in the wet this is really annoying when i try to quickly turn into a corner from stand still.
    Do you experience the same with yours?
    Thanks

      raven10011 Hi, unfortunately, I only had this vehicle for a week (I am a journalist and was reviewing it). I didn’t have a chance to drive it in the wet, but the understeer you are describing definitely isn’t ideal or expected for a rear-drive biased sports car (even the AWD XE is rear biased). I do know the XF I drove recently didn’t understeer. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

      It's called understeer, and sorry - it's not the car, it's your driving style - try going into corners slower and out faster, or turn in sharp and lift off the throttle in high gear, the weight shifting to the front will help the back step out.

    If you've driven the new BMW 3 series, can you give me your notes, I'm in the market and I can't seem to make a decision

    • @MilesPerHr
      @MilesPerHr  4 роки тому +4

      Are you considering the 330i or M340i? For both, the interior refinement are superior to the Jaguar, but the 330i is underwhelming to drive. Though it uses a 2.0L turbo like the Jaguar, it doesn't have much character. The M340i, however, is downright fun to drive and though it still isn't as engaging as the XE R-Dynamic, it can seriously move. Purely subjective, but I find the Jaguar to be better looking. It's not an easy decision, and if you're planning to keep the car for a long time, I'd say probably go with the BMW for its reliability, but if you're just thinking of owning or leasing for 3-4 years, I'd go for the Jaguar.

      @@MilesPerHr What about power ? I drove the new 330e with 292hp and it seemed pretty fun, had a nice kick to it.
      I can't drive the p300 here as it needs to be ordered.
      Can you give me your views about power and handling compared to the BMW ?

      bani7asan iv’e bought P300 R Dynamic a month ago and have driven frequently 220 330i and M340i and here’s my take:
      Looks: its subjective, i think Jag got nice front look but side profile i don’t like from back side, it just should fall off smoothly it doesn’t. BMW has got traditional look, won’t stand out in crowd, but M340i i think got a better back and side profile.
      Driving: M340i is on another level, not even a comparison. So lets talk about 330i vs P300. P300 has got soft chasis so it won’t break your back on long journeys, its smooth and refined compared to 330i. But if you wana go crazy, you will realize on corners 330i is faar more nimble and agile. Jag steering is direct so you feel everything on the road BUT chasis does not compensate that directness. So here’s the summary, if you want agile sporty car, 330i is tad bit better, if you want bit soft but still sporty performer with unique look, go for P300. Interior and infotainment, BMW is much better.
      Plus point for Jag are its looks (not so many on the road), and bit more compliant ride quality, sound is fake also 330i is okkk (slightly better in my opinion) unless we are talking 6 cylinder, no point in discussing sound

      bani7asan and about power... 330i will feel faster in lower speed range, at top end almost the same, 330e is EV so off the line it will give you good punch but accelerate from 190kph+ and it will die down compare to ICE counterparts

      Most of the luxury brands are on equal footing when it comes to reliability: great for the first few years, then things start to break (with expensive repairs/parts)
