Many South East Asians are multilingual in at least two languages (native tongue + English/Spanish/Dutch/French), thanks to our colonial past and English being such a dominant language in international business and relations. What I've observed though (I'm a Malaysian btw), the Filipinos have created a very unique speech of mixing Tagalog with English (and probably Spanish too) words to the extent that virtually all of them can speak this "mixed language" like a native but many are not actually fluent in either English or Spanish.
@@edukid1984 well actually, no one here in the Philippines had the Filipino as their native language. We have diverse dialects as our native mother tongue then we'll learn the Filipino language and english at school and in Sm in order to communicate with other people who don't know our native mother tongue. And also, the thing that you call mixed something is what we called "TagLish" since we all have our native mother tongues, we are also having a hard time finding the corresponding Filipino word of an english word so instead we'll use the english word in communication.
@@clarkalmira5070 Thanks for the clarification. Yea I remember from a Singaporean Chinese movie called 'ILO ILO' a few years back which described the relationship between a Chinese boy and his Filipino nanny, and as I recalled his nanny's native tongue was not Tagalog but another dialect.
@@edukid1984 yeah, as in almost every city in different regions of philippines has a native mother tongue. Like me, my mother tongue is Cebuano which is the words we use in communication are far away from the words we use in Filipino. And tagalog and filipino by the way is not the same also. It's just there are words in tagalog that are also in filipino but there is also many words use in filipino which are not use in tagalog.
@@edukid1984 maybe, in the movie you said, the nanny's native mother tongue is "ILONGGO" or "HILIGAYNON" since it was entitled "Ilo-ilo" which is a city in Visayas region.

In my high school days, once a week, we have 40 minutes of home room where we sing solo, duet, trio or quarter. Just like as shown on the video, we sung seated on our desk. It is normal and common for people to sing while doing chores or just to pass time.
