Thank you for sharing. I need to replace the radio in my ‘89. So, your video will help tremendously. Do you have one replacing the speakers mounted in the door?
So what would have been most helpful would be to show how you wired it up. I didn't have to take quite as much of the dash apart either. Not sure why you did. Just showing taking the console plastic apart really is the easy part. Wiring is what most people want to know and you didn't show any.
Thank you for your feedback! Here is a brief guide on how to wire it up. Keep in mind that if previous changes were made the color codes may not match. Typically for ones I’m not sure on when I’m installing a radio I like to plug in just that speaker, turn on my car and identify where the sound is coming from Match the wires from the new radio to the wires on the wiring harness adapter. The wires are usually color-coded: Yellow: Battery (constant 12V) Red: Ignition (switched 12V) Black: Ground Blue: Power antenna/Amplifier turn-on White/White with Black stripe: Front left speaker (+/-) Gray/Gray with Black stripe: Front right speaker (+/-) Green/Green with Black stripe: Rear left speaker (+/-) Purple/Purple with Black stripe: Rear right speaker (+/-) Strip about 1/4 inch of insulation from the ends of each wire. Twist matching wires together and secure with crimp connectors, soldering, or wire nuts. Use electrical tape or heat shrink tubing to insulate the connections.
No it will not a 1984-1989 corvette is a 1.5 din so your best bet is a 1 din radio because 1.5 dins are very rare. There’s also pretty neat 1.5 din retro radios that have Bluetooth which are pretty neat.

Match the wires from the new radio to the wires on the wiring harness adapter. The wires are usually color-coded:
Yellow: Battery (constant 12V)
Red: Ignition (switched 12V)
Black: Ground
Blue: Power antenna/Amplifier turn-on
White/White with Black stripe: Front left speaker (+/-)
Gray/Gray with Black stripe: Front right speaker (+/-)
Green/Green with Black stripe: Rear left speaker (+/-)
Purple/Purple with Black stripe: Rear right speaker (+/-)
Strip about 1/4 inch of insulation from the ends of each wire.
Twist matching wires together and secure with crimp connectors, soldering, or wire nuts.
Use electrical tape or heat shrink tubing to insulate the connections.
You're going to refer to the install manual for the radio that you buy for that. It also depends on whether you have the factory Bose radio or not.
I'd like to upgrade my 1986 C4. Does a Double DIN radio fit in the dash without modifications?
