Bro which circuit did you use please tell because I did not understood that to which circuit the keyboard wires are attached and data cable is attached please say 🙏🙏 bro
You deserve a medal for doing all that. 11 out of 10 for ingenuity and patience. No way would I ever have the patience, which is why I bought a cheap MIDI controller for $30 instead
I took an octave foot pedalboard from an old organ and transformed it into my first midi bass pedals thanks to you!!! have been wanting one of these for 30 years now thanks to Geddy Lee of Rush...the hardest thing was soldering...I destroyed 3 usb keyboards 😋. Nice thing about midi pedals is fewer notes.
Good effort, but this is most probably *NOT* a MIDI keyboard but a QWERTY PC keyboard with a piano layout. You might be able to type a MSWord document with this keyboard :-). A real MIDI keyboard will have some more important features like velocity sensitive keys, pitch-bend, modulation wheels, few control-surface knobs, patch-selection and transport buttons.A MIDI keyboard will actually use the real MIDI (or MIDI over USB) interface towards the PC. However the piano layout makes it still way more useful, than a standard QWERTY keyboard.
Help! I completed it now. Bt i was not testing during soldering. I soldered all at once. Now not a single key is working, what would bt the reason behind this? Please help
You could have used those extra keys for octave down (/) and octave up (*), play-stop (space bar), etc... I'm making something similar based on this video, thanks.
can't i just use the continuity function on a multi meter to find the traces easier instead of manually tracing them by eye e.g. one probe on the "q" pin on the fpc then scan all the pins on the ribbon cable till the multimeter beeps. does that sound like it would work?
You need shift registers also to take 37 inputs in arduino, or you can just use an arduino mega and skip the multiplexing part by providing one digital pin per key
U can also try the method shown in this video, i found the key matrix of pc keyboard for 37 keys n then you can easily solder all 37 keys of piano to keyboard pcb, n it really works!
But the problem with usb keyboard here is some notes will not be polyphonic while the others are. It behaves like its sometimes polyphonic and monophonic at particular notes.
Now have fun typing on that "piano"! This is not a midi musical keyboard at all, it is a USB HID keyboard. It doesn't send midi at all but text. Most apps have a "virtual" keyboard mode that is internal to the app which triggers notes. NO MIDI. I have thought of doing this but to a real organ pedalboard that has 25 notes. I would use a beeper with two probes and not do all that tracing from button to edge connector. Touch the "key" and stroke along the ribbon with the other, beep. On ZynAddSubFX I can set the octaves down in the right range. It works great as a pedal bass when I use the qwerty. ZynAddSubFX the greatest free synth on earth. It stands alone, no reason or fruit needed.
considering that you are not going to get dynamics from the keyboard, the keyboard you used costs around 40 bucks + around 10$ the pc keyboard you smashed, all the time you spent soldering. I think that's probably a big waste of time. For that much you can get a decent enough minikeys controller.
i found that CASIO in a scrap store for 50INR and that tablet Keyboard is not working correctly with tablets but working good with pc so i tried the experiment and here is the result...! sorry for bad english
So I have to first join a engineering college and buy the whole stuff and learn how to connect the wire to the right place just so that I can make a midi with wires on my desk that can break anytime instead of buying a 30 dollar midi ?
Dear brother, thank you for this work and I ask you to request, please, I want to work this effort on the piano and I want you to explain to me, please teacher, and I hope to reply as soon as possible.
standart keyboard got 102 keys. so if we will get software to programm all keys we can get 102 keys midi keyboard. The thing is that it is not that easy to find such software.
It works! I do this and turn a toy to 29key midi controller :D Im using Cubase 5.1 :)
Hallo kiya aap meri help kar sakte ho
Plz connect me
Hey dude does this midi can also work on synthesia?
Bro which circuit did you use please tell because I did not understood that to which circuit the keyboard wires are attached and data cable is attached please say 🙏🙏 bro
5.1 lol the hacked version
You deserve a medal for doing all that. 11 out of 10 for ingenuity and patience. No way would I ever have the patience, which is why I bought a cheap MIDI controller for $30 instead
Thank You For That Kind Words...!
Which midi keyboard you bought
From where did you buyed that

I knew somebody would do it!!! I just bought one Casio CS-47 and I wondered if I could ever MIDIfy it...You know the score sir!! Thanks a lot!
oh bhai itni mehnat karne se achhaa mai midi hi lelu
If what happens if the pcb will do the connection together, casio will also run or midi control will run; in circuit diagram, what has been changing

Is m perfect piano app se midi connect ho sakta h kya plzz tell me its very important
I was looking for a video like this 5 months ago..... now I found it and if already lost my chances
Wow, very crazy, congratulations you did it, really good!
Help! I completed it now. Bt i was not testing during soldering. I soldered all at once. Now not a single key is working, what would bt the reason behind this? Please help
Where is the sounds come out? from the laptop? did you feel any delay from the time you pressed keyboard? Thanks
Aman Mohammad , yes there is delay of about 1 sec
Thanks
Can i apply this way with 37 keys ??
I'm looking for to make it from melodica 37 keys with the ur way but Keyboard work only 25 keys
Please can you tell me that can it play chords????
You are a genius ?!!!! I want to be like you someday you inspired me by this video . Technology and music blended to its best !
Hey bud, pcb mai Soldering Kaunse wires kiye?
How can i use the wires of piano's board directly
Is this velocity sensitive?
I think so?
Hey im having problem in finding the fpc trace
I have very low volume in this type pino please help me

Idk does It (if you did It)
Well done
I have a 37 keys toy piano! how i solder 37 keys any ideas because i really want to make this!
+Fayz SiD you have to use "arduino" for programming 37 or more keys...
okay only Arduino or more things i need?
You need shift registers also to take 37 inputs in arduino, or you can just use an arduino mega and skip the multiplexing part by providing one digital pin per key

Amazing! Liked it!
That's really cool I might do that with my toy keyboard that I have the Yamaha shs 10 I think has les then 29 keys.
Kya hm ese mobile se conect kr sakte he
Yes
You are amazing man. Thank you. And can i solder all 32 keys? Please tell if i?
There is only 25 keys in fl studio, but if you find an app with more keys you can do it
Did the keyboard need a adapter ?
No
Thats what i call content creation big up bro
and what if you switch to different daw that uses differend buttons for playing
DAW's have a feature to shift keys
Can I use it for FL studio mobile as well
Of course
Bro's Aura +900000
Can i connect this with fl studio 12
+My World you can see the demo at end of the video...I used fl 12
Yeah, but how can i make it more keyes?
nice idea man
Couldn’t you just have soldered to the ribbon cable that runs to the toy keyboard pcb?
hey! great work dude , do you think this would work on ableton live? thanks
You are genius ❤️
You have made a 32 key MIDI
Can we make a 49 Key MIDI with same method??
PLEASE REPLY!!!!
thats easy just bound f1 f2 etc and also the numbers to the right keys and then open up fl studio , bound the keys to the right place and ur done
Great
you must use arduino micro or pro micro for send real MIDI messages from keys, sliders, pads and other buttons
I Love it
it works for
54 keyboards ???
No. only 25 keys
This probably will save my junk. Thanks.
Amazing
Nice idea , its not polyphonic , isn't it?
Bhai ye casio kitne ka doge?
Must've been a pain for you to trace the Frankenstein wires should one of the wire short circuit or breakdown.
But the problem with usb keyboard here is some notes will not be polyphonic while the others are. It behaves like its sometimes polyphonic and monophonic at particular notes.
Can I still make a MIDI keyboard with my toy piano if the piano doesn't work anymore?

Bueno el tutorial yo hice uno parecido con un tecladito
Instead of 25 can i use all 37 keys??
Well done you...........
I would just but one 😮, great effort tho
Thanks 😊
Hey bruw, you can create a cheap products for people like us ;)
Can you share for me pin maps ( all key )
I have YAMAHA PSS 380 i want to make this innovation
thank you very much
Kya aap hindi languvege samjhte ho

please show app ORG 2019 ALL midi keys please please
Would it work on a toy piano , has anyone opened a toy piano?

Very good bro super
What's funny is I have the same piano with one more octave.
using virtual midi piano keyboard, is better. you can chage k keys for every keyboard key
Using a multi meter would make it easy I think 😅
Wiaring daigram batao
good !
why didn't you just use the ribbon? it's not even a proper MIDI keyboard, it's just a keyboard. but 10/10 for the effort tho.
Please update the video to Spanish HDfull, guide map
simply awesome!

You are a real life Problem Solver.
You wont get the pressure sensitivity but still cool

Just teach arduino, and you get working Casio + midi keyboard with 37 keys at same time ;) Arduino nano will be enough.
I have the same keyboard
