I’m gonna go out on a limb here and assume Poly means something like a shared relationship, Involving more than just two people. I was going to compare it to a harem but I know that would likely be a bastardization of the term. please forgive my hetero ignorance, And please correct me if I am indeed wrong or got something incorrect

Yes in a way, when a person is poly it means they can be in a relationship with multiple partners at once but they let it happen naturally unlike people who are open who are actually looking for other partners when they are already coupled. Poly relationships can come in a few different forms, it can be relationship of 3 like this video, a square of 4 or more or a couple can date others separately and this can involve a poly dating a mono person as well. I hope that made sense!
