  • While in Cozumel we got to Snuba shore excursion. Snuba is like both snorkeling and diving only you don;t have to wear the oxygen tank. Your respirator has about a 20' line that's attached to a raft holding the tanks. This is a great way to dive, your just limited on the depth. We absolutely enjoyed this fun activity and look forward to doing it again!
Our excursion was booked through Norwegian Cruise Line for Sand Dollar Sports Snuba. The folks at Sand Dollar were all very friendly and helpful, and even spend about 10-15 minutes teaching everyone how to snuba.
If you visit Cozumel, give this a try!

That must have been a neat experience, Thought that little fish was going to let you grab it. Not alot of fear in those little fish, they need to introduced to the Kamado Big Joe

That spot in Cozumel is a pretty barren spit, mostly devoid of life. To attract small fish, they put those rows of rocks and those pots with holes down on the bottom. Actually a very safe place to snorkel, and snuba. Great for the non-diver. There are places on the other side of the island that are not for the beginner, but for the more experienced scuba diver; bigger reefs, steeper drop-offs and deeper water. Jon

Yep Abby and her family have told me about the better dive spots which they have gone to on past tripes there.

Got a beach name where there is actually cool, colorful marine life?? That was so barren!! Thanks in advance.

Adam, good to hear you're thinking about getting certified. One misconception I'd like to clear up is what you are breathing is pure dry compressed air, not oxygen.Pure oxygen is pretty toxic when you start breathing it under pressure as you would when you dive. And always remember...Don't hold your breath!

Adam, being on vacation means leaving it all behind. But as a fan and follower thanks for sharing. Now enquiring minds got to know, did you pee in the pool?

this begs the question: what are those pot structures you see at 2:27 ? I wish Aborn Adventures had taken the time to explain, they sure spent enough time video recording them......

For some reason spending time below water just wasn't for me. I practiced in a swimming pool weeks before I went but still it wasn't for me. What I did do was cool and the tropical fish were pretty to see.
