fond memories of playing on the old depot ground to the right before ermine road bridge i can remember crossing the track from brooke lane to visit the ponds that were there (now northgate ponds park). the depot area was mostly piles of large diameter concrete drains
Wow, you have been busy. A huge thank you for watching my films, I'm so glad you enjoy them. They say the 60s was a great decade but if you look back it was a time for huge amounts of historical and transport vandalism. However without thier actions, I wouldn't be able to explore the sites that I have.
Just watched all five episodes, fabulous series, very much appreciated. I’ve walked the route from hawarden bridge to northgate Chester just once. And that was ten years ago. Great to see it all again. And the onward journey to mickle Trafford. Brilliantly presented, I’ve followed the page so I can watch other videos and new ones as they come along. Big thanks.
@@PASTFINDERexploring thank you sir! Much appreciated. There’s a load of fab titles amongst the other videos on your page, so, I look forward to them! My best wishes. Si.
Great series, thank you! Just to let you know that where you ended this with that fence, if you go into the farmers field, walk to the end corner and jump back over you’ll see tracks in situe, with a set of points. I know I should encourage that but it’s rather cool.
Thanks Ben, glad you enjoyed it. I knew the tracks and point-work still existed but didn't know there was potential access. I tried to view with the drone but there was too much vegetation.
@@PASTFINDERexploring yeah it’s rather cool actually, I know, you’ve sort got to fight through it show the side but it’s not too bad. I’m curious as to where you found all the photos, I’m trying to find some of the line myself but find nothing like the ones you have?
@@Ben-bu2jg Most of the photo's were sent to me from peoples private collections. A lot of them are on the internet though but require a bit of delving.
At the very end of the video when you switch to the drone you can see Mickle Trafford signal box and on the extreme left of the vid you can see the tanks of Stanlow Refinery that used to sometimes send traffic along the line when it was fully open back in the 70,s . And if you could have walked right up to the main line you would have crossed over a full brick under bridge crossing over Station Road .

Really nice to come to the end of a fantastic explore. Well researched and excellently presented.
Thanks Tony, had to do this one on my own.
Thanks for showing this series it's been very interesting and enjoyable to watch 👍
Thanks Vic, glad you enjoyed it. Have you seen part 1 of my latest series on Chester to Denbigh line?
Not yet but it's in my watch list, have you seen my version of it? ua-cam.com/video/FBiI3tdGEhc/v-deo.html
The overlay of the line on operation as you cycle down it really brings it to life. So many bits and pieces left around to see, fascinating. Thanks
Thanks Bob, Shame I didn't get hold of the cab footage until the 4th part. As you say, loads to see, just got to look for it.

Hi, enjoyed this series.Living near Aylesbury I never realised that the A 41 road would eventually lead me to Birkenhead! Extraordinary.
Thanks Tim, glad you enjoyed it. Very long road the A41. Goes to London on southern end I believe.
Great video, very entertaining and educational 👍🏻
Thank You Frank, very kind.
