@@patsguts It's a Kenyan Coastal dish (east african dish), here is a link for one ua-cam.com/video/prR4s2Ivtj0/v-deo.html . I'm from Kenya and East African Pilau is a traditional, beautiful fragrant rice dish made with many aromatic spices that adds an amazing depth of flavor to the rice. It can be made with either beef or chicken.
Hiii couple of pointers when cooking: 1. Always sauté onions first, wait for them to go translucent before going in with garlic. This avoids your garlic to get burned and taste bitter. 2. Use a splash of cooking oil before butter when sauteing so it won't brown fast. 3. Please use a chef's knife, at least 6 in (🤭) so you can cut food easily and correctly. Iwas accidents narin like slippage and cuts. I think that ikea knife is for cheese but correct me if I'm wrong 4. Preheat your pan before you add your oil. I'd say start with low heat then add your oil in. If oil isn't hot enough your food tends to absorb it all so you end up with greasy food. 5. Alwaysssss taste what youre cooking. You'll know how much condiments you need to add before you serve. 6. Speaking of condiments, put less than what you need initially bec you can always add more later! 7. Optional: use pepper grinder so the aroma stays in the food (unlike when you buy cracked ones already) Thanks for the humor, that's what sets you apart from people who do these vlogs. Finished all your vids already. 😂 hit me up if you want recipes!
i'm not living alone, but on weekdays, i'm left alone in the house so i do the cooking for dinner. home cooking is preferrable. aside from saving money, you also exercise your creativity in making different dishes. plus, you get to bond with yourself (i talk to myself oftentimes especially when cooking lol ahhaha)
Hello po, kuya! I suggest po na don't throw the used oil sa sink kasi pwede po siyang mag cause ng blockages sa drainage pipes once na tumigas po and then pwede pong mag leak yung tubig kapag tuluyang nasira yung pipe. Especially na naka condo po kayo. Pwede niyo pong gawin is ilagay niyo na lang po sa aluminum foil yung overused oil then tapon sa basura. Edit: what a relaxing vloooooog. Watching this + rainy day + coffee = such a mood❤❤❤
Hi thanks for watching! That wasn’t all oil. I put water in it before washing. So that was mostly water and very little grease. Thanks for the tip though! I regularly get my grease trap cleaned too 🤎
Me as a male person, I would rather live alone sometimes to experience independence. And as a male person like you too, I would like to know and cook a lot of male recipes. It is somewhat kind like of training yourself in a gym the whole day. You know bro, I wish I can go back to my own house and be with my wife inside her condominium too. 💪🙋🍔🥤👽
Pats, next time, use Thai brand of fish sauce which is prepared via legit sanitation standards. Local patis regardless of dosage is foul--smelling ☻️👽😱 For the sofa, pasadahan mo na ng damp clean cloth na may alcohol and then let it dry. After that, put a throw or blanket as sofa cover
@@patsguts I use Tiparos because that's what I see in Bangkok and is readily available here. Good quality fish sauce should be as clear as whiskey and Thai fish sauce is the standard. It will have that distinct fish sauce smell, but you will not get that visceral response that it's gross and putrid
Happy weekend! What’s your specialty dish?
Chicken adobo (adobo flakes using the leftover); chicken menudo because I do not eat pork; kalabasa and sitaw with coconut milk (we need veggies!)
@@inbetweenworlds yum!
Kenyan Pilau and Guacamole🥵🥵
@@waruguru7612 i havent heard if pilau before lemme find some recipes online!

Such a Clam and peaceful vlog 😍😍 love your video so much..😍😍
Do you feel it's cheaper to cook vs eat out when it's just for 1? I feel like it's more expensive sometimes.
yes especially veggies. you tend to buy more and then they just rot 😅 sometimes i overcook and have to eat the same stuff for a week
Yayy waiting for this❤️
Wahaha laughed at you jokes.
