I made my Singapore chili crab just tonight!!! I LOVE it - but I use blue swimmer crabs as my partner does not like it so it's just me. I made up my own recipe and it's just delicious. I love how messy and fiddly it is. I use three crabs and devour it all. 🥰❤
If you use substitutes it might be a bit easier. Fermented soy bean = TouBanJan = DoenJang (at least 1 of them in Asian grocery section). Shrimp paste = Fish sauce = AekJeot. Any Fresh herbs can replace coriander 😊 Even if you can’t find anything, let your imagination run wild! It’s your own recipe which will be even better!

When i cook them..i exclude those ‘mustards’ tbh bcoz it consists of the crab brain, intestines and sh^tz of course. Its a NAH to me.. Each to their own.🤣🤣🤣

How to kill him?
Put them in the freezer is the best way. Many other cultures just break them up live. I think that is cruel personally.

The sweet chili sauce and ketchup already has the sweetness in it.
Oh and I buy the crabs fresh and 'break them down' myself. They are dead - but not cooked. Must buy uncooked!
