Yes, because for some, sightseeing is considered not that essential. It's a staycation rather than a vacation. You also have to bother for the long drive with traffic & paying for things that you may not have the necessity to, such as motels/hotels, car fuel & fast food, when you can just have all the things you need staying in your home's vicinity & radius in comfort. Not to mention the possibility of getting mugged in a city where you thought it was ok being a tourist. And trying to find restrooms too, heh.
@@robwebnoid5763 I understand what you guys are saying but London really is a world class city, and the UK is so small in general. It’s like NY, Shanghai, London, Moscow, Rio, Sydney and I’m not even sure what comes after that.
@@andrewiglinski148 ... Well, like Rupert alluded, there is comfort at home. And by home, I don't just mean the house, but also the neighborhoods, towns & shops close to your living quarters. It's not just comfort, but convenience & familiarity. You know where you are & you know which shops you like. And where public restrooms are, heh. There's also realistic expectations at the destination & also whether you are introverted or extroverted. Going off to some distant city might be intriguing & curious for some, but for the other half, it isn't, as far as free time is concerned, or even if someone is forced to go on a business trip to a certain place. But if you are going, I think there should be some planning involved. Not everyone, especially adventurous risk-taking backpackers, but perhaps a huge percentage, so that at least you don't get lost & find yourself in bad neighborhoods or paying too much for whatever, like food or cab fare. London might be world class, but every world class city has rotten apples. Of course you can try to stick to tourist areas. Disney world & disney land are also considered sightseeing attractions. Most people (parents) will go there, but only because for their kids & not to entertain themselves in long summery sweaty hot lines to different rides, as well as paying too much for junk food. There are some people too who can "visualize" what a destination looks like, so there's really no inclination to go there if you can already see most of it in your mind, not to mention looking at pictures & videos. That might sound like a Debbie Downer, but again, it's all about deciding what you want to do on your free time. Now if you have fallen in love with someone who likes to travel, & you don't, then perhaps it might sometimes be best to accommodate your lover, sometimes, not all the time. You just have to balance out the relationship.

First time I heard "Piccadilly Circus" was in a Jethro Tull song called "Mother Goose" off of Aqualung and thats all I think about when I hear that name now haha.
I love London. I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much because the English don't really feel 'foreign' to Americans, like the rest of Europe does. But it was amazing. If you're a history buff, you could literally spend a month in London and still not have time to see everything.
