    I love this product! Have an issue though. My wife placed a water bottle on my pond last summer and it made an indentation. And is not going away... Any suggestions on how to fix? Low heat? Anything?

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert 7 років тому +2

      Hello! Do not use any heat. You will need to purchase some denatured alcohol at your local hobby or hardware store. Place some in a spray bottle, spray the water area well and let it set. This will soften up the water and remove the indentations. Continue this process until you are satisfied with the results. If desired, once the existing water area is completely dry from the denatured alcohol treatment, pour another 1/8-inch layer of Realistic Water®. Happy modeling!

    I have some water effects that was still white and I got Realistic Water on it, will it still turn clear after a couple days?

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert Рік тому +1

      Unfortunately the answer is no, the Water Effects will not become clear over time. Your only option is to completely remove that area of the water feature and repour it. Remove the water by misting with denatured alcohol, then pry it up carefully.

    What if my pond or river isn’t 100% level?

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert 9 місяців тому

      Hello. If your water feature is not level, this could be due to one of two issues. The area might not have been entirely sealed and might have seeped through some of the feature or the surface it's sitting on might have been bumped during the curing process.
      Here's what you can do. Once the water feature has cured, pour another layer of Realistic Water on top of the feature. The first layer would have sealed any leak that might have existed. Then, the new layer of Realistic Water should self-level and look even on top of the old layer.

    Hi mate, is there still a problem with this water and PVA? Making it go cloudy?

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert 7 років тому

      Hello! Realistic Water and PVA glue are not compatible. Using the two together could cause the Realistic Water to act adversely, causing cracking and/or the fogging you mentioned. Happy modeling!

    I used this plus your water tint... Unfortunately, it doesn't give you the tint that I'm after. Maybe if it was the clear water, then tinting would be easier. My local diorama supply's store's advice is not good. I want a murky water , but now I have a clear blue water because the tint didn't work with this product

    can i mix water based brown paint to make it look like farm slurry

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert 4 роки тому +1

      Realistic Water can be tinted with Water Tints, Earth Colors Liquid Pigment, 100% acrylic paint or food coloring. If using paint, double check that the paint is 100% acrylic. Many paints contain other components that can be incompatible with Realistic Water.
      To model muddy farm areas, you can add Earth or Soil Fine Turf to the Realistic Water mixture for texture.

    If you accidentally poured the whole bottle instead of 1/8in. will it still dry eventually 😬

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert 3 роки тому

      It depends on the depth. How deep is the Realistic Water in the water cavity at the deepest point?

    • @patrickbrown9321
      @patrickbrown9321 3 роки тому

      @@ModelSceneryExpert about 3/8in or 1/2 in

      It is possible that the water feature will dry completely, but it may take weeks or even months for it to clear. When poured this deep, the top of the pour will dry and skin over, almost like a pudding or gravy does as they cool. However, the material underneath will not be dry and you will see a white cloudy spot for awhile. This white cloudy spot will move beneath the dried surface, trying to find a way for the moisture to evaporate. Typically, the moisture will find a way out and the water feature will eventually dry clear.

    Why do bubbles form after it dries?

    not too sure about this stuff. My fantastic looking lake is now starting to turn cloudy 😑

    • @ModelSceneryExpert
      @ModelSceneryExpert Рік тому

      Hello there! Thank you for your interest in our products. The cloudiness in the Realistic Water™ is moisture. Typically Realistic Water will clear as long as the source of moisture is removed from the area where the layout is. As it can be difficult to locate the source of moisture, there is no guarantee that it will clear. Put a fan or dehumidifier in the room to encourage air circulation and hasten evaporation. Please let us know if this helps, we want your layout to turn out fantastic too!
